As many of the other reviewers have said this place is awful. Do not waste your time or money. I went in to have gel removed from my fingernails, and a simple manicure with no polish. I sat down with the woman who was doing the manicure. She was not one of the two owners. The work station was dirty and obviously had not been cleaned . She used a Dremel and then swept the dust onto the floor. After letting my nails soak for two or three minutes she again used a Dremel instead of allowing them to soak longer and scraping it off so as not to damage the nail bed. I have bruising underneath several fingernails and they were painful for the next couple of days because she was lazy and wanted to do it quickly. She quickly filed my nails and said she was done. Again, I had to ask for a manicure only with no nail polish. She did a terrible job, left much of the cuticle, and applied lotion in a way that was painful to my hands. This, however, isn't the worst part of this experience. When I got done I was told by the female owner that it would be $35. She saw my surprise and angrily told me she was giving me a discount. So I paid $35 to have polish removed and a bad manicure, with no polish or gel whatsoever applied. I did pay what was asked, and loudly stated I would not be tipping when they had the nerve to ask me that. I left, waited about 10 minutes, and called to ask how much a gel manicure was. I was told that it would be $30. So I paid $5 more to get half the service that I would have. What I thought was a simple request turned out to be an expensive lesson. read more

Customer service is very bad, the lady that was next to us waiting had an appointment at 2:30 for manicure and pedicure and they told her that she can only do one. Not only that but made her wait almost an hour and had people that scheduled at 3:00 go before her. Not only that they didn't know what they were doing while doing my nails made them uneven and didn't fix them at all after I asked and the design I asked for wasn't right and didn't look like the design I asked for. read more

Literally wouldn't recommend this place if they were the last nail salon ever. I have tried to go in as the way "walk ins welcome". Yea, no they're not. They make appts and when you call to reschedule they don't answer. My girlfriends in Oregon bought me an 80$ gift card for my university graduation, and I don't have time to schedule as I am busy so walk ins when I have time are what works best! I went in this morning (literally at open. Then open at 10 and weren't even there until 1015) to see about a quick pedi. No one else in but one woman getting a nail set done, and she couldn't even squeeze me in so I asked for the gift card to be refunded and she straight up told me no. Didn't mention this to my girlfriend that they were non refundable. So now they get to keep $80! Just keep it with no services done. This place is a joke and management is horrible. read more

Jimmy does an awesome job!! His nails last, do not pop off! My hands are dealing with oysters, seafood and other salty creatures during my full time work week. The gel polish he uses stays in and look fresh until I go back in for a fill. Highly recommend! read more

The last time I was here I was not impressed with the wait time but this time, on a Saturday at 11:30am both my daughter and I got in quickly for a fill and gel and they did an excellent job. So I took my daughter to get her nails done here yesterday... I am displeased with the end result.. They are poorly shaped and lumpy, it looks like a child painted them, they just are not great. I paid $$ for something, I expect that they get done well. If I was doing this kind of work I would do my best, and make sure my work looked good before sending my clients out the door. It just reflects badly on your business. Very disappointed, my daughter is very disappointed with her first experience getting acrylic nails.. I arrived (without an appointment) at 2:00pm. The lady told me that if her 2 o'clock did not show up she could do my pedicure. They did show up so she told me to come back at 4. I returned at 3:50. She was doing another pedicure which it appeared she had just started. She knew I was returning at 4 because I told her I would yet she obviously did not make the other customer wait even knowing I was showing up at 4. So I waited and she told me to pick a color and take a seat. At 4:20 I walked out. She did not offer for me to sit in a pedi chair so my feet could soak. Nothing! Friendly Nails hmm.....not so friendly. Went in for a full leg wax and just polish on my nails. Nothing crazy, pretty simple. I paid over 80$ to get bruised, roughly the size of a dollar bill. And wax left all over in patches to match the HAIR that was missed. I pointed some of this out, which she tried to get.....didn't work out so well. And now my nails. First, my last polish wasn't cleaned totally off. So I have a line of old polish around my nail to go along with my new polish and color. The new polish doesn't cover my whole nail, I have parts unpolished. I'd think a person would try and make a first experience enjoyable to the point that one would come back a second time. I won't be back. And the system is making me put a star on the review, if I had my choice, no star would be given. read more

What I didn't like about this place is they literally charge u extra for every little thing. They said it would be ten dollars more for ombre even with just basic glitter polish, Lord forbid I asked for dio powder or acrylic ombre and when i asked about mirror powder ombre they said it was gonna be extra on top of the extra for ombre. I came here bevause I didn't have the time to drive to Tumwater where I usually go and so I got just a basic polish, I had to sit there and let air dry bevause if I wanted quick dry polish that would of been extra too. Had I gotten what I would normally get I would of spent an extra 30 then I usually pay which is already a lot for not the same quality. Next time I'll wait it out then come again. read more

They are very detailed and precise when it comes to shaping the nail! Everytime i go to a nail salon they always run out of the popular colors but at friendly nails they always stock their nail polish. Not even close to deserving one star. More like negative five stars. My mother dropped a good amount for myself, my niece and herself to all three get mani pedi's. Never have I ever had my hands and toes look so bad! All of us had horrible turn outs. Waves nail polish after it dried, top cote not even fully painted and my nails were grinded and uneven after filing. By far the WORST nail salon out there. My niece's toe polish was dripping onto her toe...unreal. the flower on her toe was all droopy too. And I've never seen such unhappy people. Would it hurt to smile?? Nails R Us is the best nail salon in Shelton. Do yourself a favor and spend your money and time far from this place. I'm giving it one star only because I have to in order to write this review. Friendly....humph....I have experienced better. I went in with no idea what I wanted, just nails. I said "French Manicure" but then when the girl showed me the tips, I asked which will look more natural UN polished because I may not want to wear polish all the time. She said "clear" So she used a dremmel to "rough up" my nails. And my expectation was that she was going to do them...I got passed to this guy, who took out the "white tips." I said, no I want clear tips...He argued with me and said I wanted French manicure...I said no I decided on the other.... He was very rough with my fingers because he was mad at me. They look nice, but a little bumpy....He asked me to pay then... THEN I got passed to yet another person for polish...then I noticed that one of my nails was shaped funny and the person I got passed to fixed it but she was talking to the guy in their "home" language the whole time. I used to be a frequent client at Friendly Nails. They did awesome on the polish application for both my Mani and Pedi. But I've stopped going because I caught a nail fungus somewhere along the line. I can't say it was there for sure, but I have watched as they pulled used equipment from a drawer, use it on me and then returned it to the drawer. Just to be safe I'm doing my nails at home now. Very disappointed. Owner did my manicure and shellac on a drop in basis. This was my first visit and certainly my last. The manicure was incomplete with cuticle still left over nail. The shellac then got painted over the cuticle leaving a ridge and the technique uneven so looked amateur when finished. They have a lot of nerve charging $ 25.00 for their work out here in Shelton when in the big city Bothell Eastside of Seattle you can get excellent work for the same price. Sorry I didn't look closer and was dumb enough to give a 5 dollar tip. read more
