Very very clean , professional ,and organized salon. It was my first time going and I had an appointment . There was only two technicians working when I went and I got good service although a little bit slow . I would rather have that than rushed and not done properly. I got a nail fill in with gel polish and pedicure. The man did a nice job on my toenails and the nail fill in. He is very neat and experienced. They seem to be busy with customers and managing the work with only two people working at the time. I would go back when I need services when I am visiting here. read more

Terrible experience. The pedicure was okay. The lady doing my nails was sloppy and now have more polish on my skin than my nails. Not to mention it was PAINFUL... For my gel manicure, I told her I liked the shape and length i already had and didn't want them trimmed or filed. She immediately chopped them off and now all are a different shape after i told her to stop 3 times. The polish is clumpy and uneven. Have to say I went in with better looking nails than I did coming out. Waste of money and time. read more

I was terribly disappointed in the way they treated me. I am handicapped and have a problem with my right hand. I have had manicures before and was never treated this way. He looked at me and basically told me he couldn't do it. Then proceeded to cut my nails so short I didn't even want them polished. read more

Since moving here three years ago I have tried way too many nail places. Very frustrating. I've experienced everything from being burned by a drill at one place, mold under my nails at another and just a crappy job overall at others . Came her by ANOTHER recommendation. There work is "slightly" better than others but DON'T bother making an apt. You will wait for a half hour or longer every time. They are AWFUL with apts. Guess they figure everyone who lives here is retired (which I am not) and they don't care. read more

Had an appointment and they made me wait for 45 minutes with zero communication while soaking with acetone on my fingers. All the toe nail clippings (and other debris) were swiped to the floor. What great service! They are the epitome of professionals. As I sat there with my daughter and niece, I watched the 3 technicians work. Each and every one of them were unbelievably meticulous. They took their time and didn't finish until our toes were PERFECT! I would highly recommend this nail salon to anyone visiting the Calabash area. This is a family owned business and it shows in their work. The salon is also spotless and they are very conscious of cleaning their work area as soon as you are out of the seat. The absolute worst nail experience I've ever had. I usually go to a nail salon in myrtle beach but my normal nail guy was booked and had to get my nails done before a wedding I was a bridesmaid in this weekend, so based on reviews I decided to try this place. Obviously that was a huge mistake. I went in for a gel manicure and regular pedicure, and an older gentleman did both of these for me. We'll start with the pedicure. The foot soak was lukewarm at best. Then the man doing my pedicure was super rough, and used hand soap and a nail brush to 'massage' my calves.. it was the strangest thing I've ever had happen during a pedicure. I also picked out one color to do on both my nails and toenails (a OPI light pink color), and the color on my toenails is a darker shade than my nails. I'll preface talking about my gel manicure with saying that a woman who was obviously a regular came in with two other women all wanting pedicures & because they were short staffed one of them had to wait for my guy to finish my manicure before she could get hers. Well as soon as the guy doing my nails realized this he rushed through my manicure to try to get done so he could go start on this other woman. Because he was trying to rush through my manicure, he was so rough with my cuticles that he actually ended up cutting one way too short and made it bleed. I asked for square nails and he filed them down so sharp on the edges of my nails that I had to go home and file them so they wouldn't stab the sides of my fingers where my nails sit. He also was super sloppy with applying the layers of the gel color and top coat, getting it all over the sides of my nails, which has caused my gel manicure (which typically lasts 2-3 weeks at my regular nail salon) to last me not even 2 HOURS after I left the salon before they started to chip and lift from my nails. He also acted very irritated when I asked him to do an extra topcoat for me (I work in the service industry, so I always get an extra topcoat since I'm constantly washing my hands), as if I had inconvenienced him or something. I pretty much threw my $50 down the drain for a horrible mani/pedi that I could've done a better job myself at home, and if I wouldn't have had to go straight into work after my appointment, I would've gotten him to take it all off and wouldn't have paid for it whatsoever. So what I've gathered is that unless you're a regular of this salon, you're not going to get the high level of service or quality that should warrant this place to be an almost 5 star establishment. I'd honestly like to go back and get my money back, but I'm sure it'd be a lost cause. From now on I'll just stick to my normal nail salon, where I know that my money won't be wasted and that I'll get quality service and equal treatment. read more

I love how my gel manicure looks just like a regular manicure. Sometimes gel manicures will look super thick, if that makes since and I don't particularly care for that. Excellent service that is well worth the wait. They do have issues with time management but I have been to many other places that do a horrible job. I do the dipping powder on my nails and they last from 3-4 weeks. Tammy and her husband are excellent manicurist. I've also had my nails done by Abby and she is excellent also! Advice is that you should definitely make an appointment. They are always busy when I am there. And if there not busy when you walk in they probably have appointments on their books. read more

I scheduled an appointment for me and my daughter to have pedicures together as a treat before she went back to college. We waited 15 mins to get seated and then our feet soaked over 40 minutes until the water was cold. One of the owners started on my feet 20 minutes before anyone got to my daughters. They were extremely busy and were waiting on people that came in later first. They were all jumping around from customer to customer. Had high hopes due to all the positive reviews but did not have a good experience. I went in for a manicure. Girl cut me several times when removing cuticle around my nails. While the polish looked good when I left it had pealed/chipped off three fingers before the night was over. I was not doing anything physical or putting them in water, or washing dishes. This used to be a good place- been getting more busy/ less "friendly" workers (stressed) . last 2 times I was kept waiting a long time (with appointments) - very last time I was there 2 hours for a "powder dip" nail appt. Now, without notice- all working in salon are taking a month off- we regulars have to find another place. The attention to detail and precision in the cuticle and nail care was impressive but then the multiple levels of massage - first with sugar scrub, then gel, then a foam w heated towel, then a hot oil. we were practically purring! We are making Friendly Nails a day-one of vacation tradition every time we are in the area. Came here while visiting family. Nice place but was really quiet... No music or ambiance to relax. Same at 10:30am on a Thursday. Mani & pedi took 1.5 hours because they don't do both services at the same time, which I thought was standard. I'm used to two people working at the same time. Quality was pretty good.
