I took a cab from The Friendly Cab Co. at the KW airport. Filthy cab, no a/c on 112 degree day, driver did not speak English and did know the location, no meter in cab, so he made up a price and overcharged me, and I had to navigate. Disgusting!! Do not use!! read more

I just had the worst experience ever with this company in Key West, FL. Best part, I was not getting any services or rides from the company. This is directly for the interaction with a driver. I live in Key West and went to lunch. I was pulling out of parking lot and had a driver come up behind me and honk repeatedly. There was a red light, pedestrians, and traffic so I was unable to go forward at all or move. He got mad and went around. I dropped off lunch to my fiance and as I am at another spot where I cannot move...here he comes again. He again started honking. Then he actually got out of his car and came to my window...therefore not allowing me to go. I rolled the window down and he was yelling at me. Again, pedestrians and traffic, I was unable to go. I finally got to make the turn and was so shook up...I called his company. They gave me the manager's number which, you guessed it, went to him. He hung up on me and told me I was lying. I then called the business back and they did apologize but how can the company keep someone like that around a tourist city? He is definitely in the wrong place if he likes flowing traffic. 309 was on the badge on his shirt for anyone else that wishes to avoid him. read more

The hotel guy at the front desk recommended them. The drive into town was great. The drive going back didn't even happen. The guy met me at the designated area and then as I sat in added that he couldn't take a credit card. I'm on a business trip!!! I need to use my card! If you cannot/do not want to use the card then let Uber in!!!! I got out of the car and hauled down a random cab who turned out to be great!!!!! I had just gotten off the ferry from Fort Myers and asked cab #305 today, April 19th, 2015, for a ride. He never fully stopped to talk to me and kept slowly driving away, but told me he did not know where I wanted to go in a very rude tone (which I did and could have given him directions, which I told him, OR maybe he would have heard me if he had actually stopped) and kept driving. He then stopped and helped the three ladies that were in front of me (about 15 feet away) and asked them in a nice voice if they needed a ride. Friendly Cab Company? I THINK NOT. I should've taken an Uber like I planned. I found David to be rude and condescending. My first clue was that he didn't actually ask me for the address of where I was going. I had to offer it to him. The moment he put it into his own GPS he changed the rate/price on me. This is after both me and my belongings are in the cab and we've already started to embark on the journey. I could've paid Uber $53. He charged me $80. As people were calling his phone trying to get a cab, I noticed he was being rude to them too. Idk why the company is called Friendly Cab cause they're not friendly. He was speaking to me like I was stupid when I told him all I had was an address to go off of and that I'm not from here so I don't have context of what area the Airbnb was in. He asked me to "put up a picture of the place on the map" and then he said "ok now what does that say? Cause you read it aloud for me?" as if I were an idiot. I have a masters degree and I'm a director in my organization. I am many things but stupid isn't one of them. Called Friendly Cab for a ride to the airport from the Truman Annex (Southard and Emma) Saturday morning about an hour before I needed them. We were impressed to see their nice, clean cab already waiting for us when we showed up 5 minutes early to the appointed meeting place. The driver was wonderful. All cabbies will help with bags and drive, but this fellow, from start to finish, seemed genuinely happy to be there helping us. We enjoyed talking with him on our way to the airport and he even pointed out some interesting KW history and great times of the year to visit Key West. All in all a very positive experience to end our delightful week in Key West. I'm just sorry I did not get his name, but Kudos to Friendly Cab and this driver in particular. read more

HATES HANDICAPPED PEOPLE! Unfriendly cab company. Had to call twice. I walk a cane, obvious mobility problems. Driver, from his seated position, threw open right passenger door. Did not offer assistance to get into cab. Did I mention that he was picking me up at an Urgent Care facility? Private Obvious should have noted that. Nicely told him I needed a receipt, he said he would provide a blank one. Became angry when asked for taxi number and was not sure of it, asked for phone number (not on receipt), and livid when I asked his name. Chose to give me several names. I asked him why he was so angry. He replied he had never been asked so many questions. I told him this receipt was for a third party. He drove like a maniac. Got me to CVS. Again did not help me out. I called cab company who told me they understood he was rude but I was wasting dispatchers' time. Guess helping HANDICAPPED PEOPLE in and out of cabs takes too much time. Guess friendly cab is an ironic name. Guess by Florida law the driver does not have to provide cab number nor his real name. Guess what? I hope others' will not use this company. I lost my I.D. in the cab. I called back later in the day to track it down (they never made a move to return it to the hotel we were picked up from). They said they would give me my ID if I paid them $15! That's extortion. Being in a bad situation and needing my ID for a flight I was left with no choice and paid the $15. I called the police afterwards and they informed me that my first instinct was correct, that this is illegal. The dispatcher I called was also rude and condescending. This company is the only bad part of a wonderful place. I love key west but absolutely hate friendly cab. read more

We were quoted two separate times on a trip from Smathers beach to the Coconut Mallory Resort which was only 2.5 miles away. The quote was $8-9 dollars. The ride cost us $13. We were not happy and when we called to discuss it we were basically blown off by the rude dispatcher. Cab driver was also cranky with us when we booked the later ride to airport and then canceled when we found out it would be a more expensive fare for less distance. Do NOT use these people.
