I used to do crossfit and happen to know how to do deadlifts and didn't think much of it at the time of the appointment but in hindsight, this is irresponsible. You can do more harm than good to your back if done incorrectly. The entire visit was so off-putting that I went and got proper care elsewhere.

Due to the pandemic we talk on the phone. I cannot express how much he has helped me. I don't know how I would have made it through chemotherapy without his words of wisdom and support. Likewise getting through chemo/radiation and then surgery. He is empathetic, understanding, smart and very insightful. At one point during chemotherapy I was having overwhelming emotions. He asked if I was getting steroids with my chemo. Bingo! Being able to understand the cause made such a difference. This is just one example of the many ways he has helped me navigate a very scary period of my life. I feel that every appointment I have had with him has been extremely educational and valuable to me.

Turner was recommended to me by another MD because of his excellent reputation and because he supports complementary therapy like acupuncture and meditation, things I believe in. He takes copious notes but also listens carefully and returns phone calls promptly. I can pick up a talk thread from a few months' back and there's no wind-up/re-hashing to get back up to speed. (You can tell he reviews notes before you come in for your appointment). We all have problems and sometimes those problems need an impartial doctor to help you sort through them and move along through life's challenges.

Then I encountered some mysterious brain chemistry issue. Dr. Bott took the time to understand all the things going on and took his best guess and treating the most severe issue which by the way was missed by several other doctors. Like another reviewer mentioned - what I really liked is how he explained the WHY behind the prescription. To one of the 1 star reviewers - yes this medication also made me feel like I couldn't go on - but this is known about some drugs until they have time to cross the blood brain barrier and take affect - which is 4-6 weeks on average. I stuck it out, been on the medication 3 months now and feel much better. I work in healthcare so it takes a lot for an HCP to impress me. That being said, when this man retires we will lose an extremely knowledgable and caring physician. Highly recommend. Two of the one star reviews on here have absolutely nothing to do with Dr. Bott's knowledge, experience and mannerisms. This is not a yelp site for who takes what insurance or for the front desk staffs' phone skills, it is a review for Dr. Bott's care.

I've seen him over a period of three years for issues with my spine, hips and neuropathy in my arms. He has a wholistic approach - that is, he doesn't suggest any invasive options unless you've tried things like physical therapy, diet, exercise, weight loss, stress reduction techniques, in tandem. If you need to have a guided injection, which I did twice, the process is professional and easy. The staff at the surgical day center love him and have good things to say. My two injections provided a lot of relief, along with physical therapy. I highly recommend him.

I went in to address a pinched nerve in my back that was causing me severe pain. I needed immediate attention since I could not perform my job due to shooting nerve pain starting from my neck, across my shoulder, down my arm and to my finger tips causing numbness. He ordered an MRI, I waited one week before calling the MRI office....they had not received it. Called Park's office, asked what happened, they hadn't sent it. He ordered a second MRi, went through the exact same experience. After the second MRI he sent me to a specialist. Taking about passing the buck and failing to address the issue. When I asked this doctor what could have caused the pain, his response was "go to church, ask Jesus". So I did. Guess what Dr. Parks, the response I got was "Ask a professional, that's what I gave the gift of education for". Now that last bit wasn't an actual quote but you can understand why I don't trust this doctor or his assistant with my health, or life. I highly recommend going to another specialist, even if you have to wait a little longer. Dr Parks, thanks for never returning my phone call, or did your assistant forget to tell you....again?

This is a huge relief after the normal "not much else to do for you" reaction we all get from the average dr. However, I won't be going back to his office. I have run out of medication several times in a row over the past year because refill requests are not processed. Repeatedly leaving me without meds is inexcusable, and entirely avoidable. Other info: - The office is open only 3 days a week. - They don't take insurance. - There is no voicemail, no email and no way to exchange information except to leave a message with an answering service(!).

I had seen many therapists for severe depression before I began seeing Dr. Freedman. None of my previous providers were able to understand the seriousness of my condition. Dr. Freedman honed in on it immediately. For a number of years I strongly resisted Dr. Freedman's therapy. He never repudiated me and consistently maintained a patient and caring attitude. Also he was willing to try numerous drugs to augment my therapy. After about 20 different ones we finally found one that worked and my depression is almost non-existent. His willingness to try many different medications is impressive as is his knowledge of pharmaceuticals. In addition, Dr. Freedman is the only doctor I have seen who took my narcolepsy seriously and prescribed the appropriate medicine to address this condition. I cannot speak more highly of Dr. Freedman's approach to therapy. He is extremely insightful, caring and compassionate. Thank you, Dr. Freedman!!!

Dr. Stanford is awesome. I started seeing him because I was dealing with intense postpartum…read moreanxiety, which was obviously hormonally induced. My OB acted like PPA/PPD was a totally foreign concept to her, would not write a prescription for anything, and had no one to refer me to. (What the hell, Alta Bates?? Where is your postpartum support??) It's been my experience as a woman (I say that because I *think* this is a problem largely faced by women) that doctors mostly react to me with complete skepticism; their responses dripping with condescension. "Oh, you're suffering you say? I'll sit here with a feigned sympathy face for 5 minutes while you explain, and then I'll explain to you, real slow, in words you can understand, how you're overreacting, and how I'm not going to do anything to address your imaginary problem." So I was nervous walking into my appt with Dr. Stanford, afraid I'd be shamed for reaching out for help, just like pretty much every other time I've sought medical care. But Dr. Stanford is great. Totally human. He treats me as though I am totally qualified to asses my own body, my own mind, my own struggles, my own feelings. (What a concept!) He doesn't force a mismatched diagnosis on me just to prove he's the authority. He never dismisses my concerns. He just listens to what I've got going on and how I would like it addressed, and then offers his expertise in choosing an appropriate prescription. Easy. And here I am, totally free from the hell that was postpartum anxiety. Can't recommend him enough.
