We always stop at Friedman's and usually find markdown Hi Tech boots at a really great price. I got no hiking or walking shoes today but got some really cute flip flops for $2!! They have really cute men's shirts and carhart clothing. My husband bought two belts in here today. We enjoy this store and is a nice stop when downtown Nashville.

Friedman's is a strange place; it very well may be, however, your best bet for military surplus shopping...if that's your thing. Back when I lived on the West Side, I often stopped in to Friedman's to buy items like wool caps, thermal shirts and jackets. It truly is a good, cheap spot for your winter layering needs. In addition to buying winter clothes at Friedman's, however, I have often explored their other items. They sell everything from machetes and deactivated hand grenades to helmets, mosquito repellent and, as the sign proudly states, Chuck Taylors. If you're the camping type, Friedman's is a pretty good spot to stop in for tents, lanterns or fishing supplies. Everything is in pretty good shape and relatively cheap. Despite Friedman's extensive selection of pretty neat stuff, the staff is often a bit unapproachable. They seem to give off the vibe that, unless you look like a veteran, they assume you're goofing off and would just as soon not take your business. I'm sure they don't really feel that way, but they certainly aren't the most thoughtful staff around. Anyhow, Friedman's is a great spot to pick up rugged outdoor items as well as sailor and tough-guy hats, and the staff isn't so bad once you've been in a time or two. I dare you to go into Friedman's and not buy anything. Seriously.

It's more than just a drink -- it's an experience.] * Ambience is fantastic and captures a true Tennessee vibe. There's plenty of seating, whether on the deck, on the lawn (where you can bring your own camping chairs), or inside the shop, which features all sorts of unique trading post decor and merchandise. * Staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating. * Very family-friendly, especially on the lawn. * Pricing is about average for gourmet coffee -- which isn't necessarily a downside or a compliment. In short, whether you're looking for a place to hang out with your family on a hot summer day with an iced coffee or meet a client for a morning latte, Bradley Mountain is a fantastic choice.

This place is also a gun shop, and also carries tactical pens, and associated accessories. They showed me a pen that I liked right away, and go a lead on a KC Gray knife. The owner (?) was very helpful, which is definitely not the experience that a few others on this page apparently experienced. I left with a business card and a subsequent look at their website.

I own many knives some of which I have paid 3 to 4 times more each for them. I was looking for a particular knife. I dont care thay it was an extremely expensive knife. It is my favorite carry knife. I was insulted. They have no idea what I can or can not afford. I am a collector. I do not carry my collector knives. I carry one that is around 100.00. I could care less where it comes from. It isactually the sharpest knife I have ever owned. Someone stole it from my hotel room. I was looking to replace it. Then they say something about one comparable that cost 400 to 600. Of it was worth the money I would have paid it easily. Then they didn't even have the knife. The point is do not assume what others have in their pocket. My Katana from Japan was several 1000, it was specially forged for me. They took into consideration my height and weight. Then the length and weight of the sword. Perfect balance. Specific to me. I have a Chinese spear forged just for me. Perfect weight and length for me to throw. I will never buy from this store. I would rather buy from the Chinese than them. I dont particularly want to buy from China, but if this store and Cbina were my only two options I would buy from China. They also told me to leave rather hastily after insulting me, not once but multiple times. Rude is not a good business practice. It is never good to insult your customer. Then scream at them to leave repeatedly

I would pay for all the shipping. I did not want to get money back, I would spend more. NO. She would not even get on the phone. What a blow to "Southern Hospitality", I will never step foot in such an asinine retailer ever again.

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME!!…read more This was hands down the most disorganized kayak rental experience I've ever had. Our reservation was for 12:00 PM. We were running about 10 minutes behind, so we called ahead, let them know, and even paid before arriving. After getting there, we waited nearly 30 minutes for transportation to the drop-off point. The woman at the office was nice and apologized, so we brushed it off. Unfortunately, that was only the beginning. When we arrived at the river, everything fell apart. An older gentleman and two teenagers were unloading kayaks, but nobody gave any instructions or directed customers. We stood waiting for another 15+ minutes while they unloaded equipment and chatted. When we finally asked what was going on, they realized they didn't even have enough kayaks or paddles for our group. We were told more kayaks were "already on the way." Meanwhile, we watched other customers launch themselves because nobody was helping them get into the water. There was another group with a 12:30 reservation sitting there with kayaks available, but instead of getting us on the river, we continued waiting. At around 1:35 PM, I called the office and was told it would be another 30-45 minutes. By then we were beyond frustrated. A manager eventually got involved, but instead of apologizing, she seemed irritated that we were upset. After more waiting and more promises that kayaks were "almost there," transportation finally returned around 2:15 PM with additional kayaks. Remember, our reservation was for noon. We had already spent over two hours waiting. The best part of the day was actually being on the river. The river itself was enjoyable, and once we finally got in the water, we had a good time. Then came the ending. When we reached the take-out point, three teenagers were checking people in. One of them stopped another group and immediately started asking for names so he could charge them a $75 late fee. Their reservation had also been at noon, and they were delayed because of issues caused by the company, not because they were late. The teenager literally told them that wasn't his problem. Then they started trying to charge our group the same $75 late fee. Absolutely not. After multiple customers complained and the manager was called, they finally admitted we didn't owe anything. The entire situation could have been avoided with basic organization, communication, and customer service. We had 4 adults, 2 older kids, and 2 younger kids and spent nearly $400. For that kind of money, customers shouldn't spend over two hours waiting because a company failed to have enough kayaks available for scheduled reservations. The river was nice. The staff experience was terrible. I've floated many rivers over the years and can honestly say this was the worst-run kayak rental operation I've ever dealt with.
