He was amazingly straight-forward with me, and I trusted his opinion, which from me, is saying a LOT. He is an expert in chronic ankle instability (too many sprains - the ankle never tightens back up) and explained my options to me. I opted for surgery, and his staff were amazing that day - very organized, very professional and incredibly nice. I have been very happy with the whole experience, although I am ready to be off of crutches!

Although he was very informative and performed a thorough exam he seems a little cocky to me. As an RN for 25 years I am difficult to please when it comes to office staff and provider relations. Steve Harris, the PA, wanted me to get an MRI. When I explained I am in a lot of pain while lying flat and didn't think I could remain still for 30 minutes to get an image, Steve told me I have to grin and bear it. He did not offer other options, such as sedation or an open MRI. I am the one that stated my only option was to get an open MRI. If anyone makes an appointment with Dr Lemma, whom I haven't had the pleasure of meeting, be sure to mention that you want to be examined by him

She recommended Dr. Guyton and he concurred that I would need a Brostrom Gould procedure.I really didn't want to drag myself out to Baltimore for a doctor, but I'm really glad I did. Dr. Guyton is a foot/ankle specialist and performed my surgery. Great outcome, great follow up. I got back on the court and play 4-7 times a week and my ankle feels strong and stable (although, I do wear a brace for my own peace of mind.) Highly recommended and worth the trip.
