Perfect heat, crazy flavor -- hands down one of the best things we had. If you're a big crawfish fan this is a great place for all you can eat! And if you love shrimp... you're in heaven. Golden Corral Buffet | McDonough, Ga…read more 1755 Jonesboro Rd, McDonough, GA 30253 (4/5) Golden Corral Buffet - McDonough, Georgia If you're looking for a dependable all-you-can-eat buffet in McDonough, GA, Golden Corral Buffet & Grill is a solid stop just off I-75, making it a convenient choice for travelers, families, and anyone craving classic American comfort food. The location offers the familiar Golden Corral buffet experience with plenty of hot favorites, fresh sides, salads, desserts, and grilled selections in an easy-to-access location. During our visit, the staff was friendly and welcoming, and the buffet stayed well maintained. The food was consistently hot and fresh, with all the Golden Corral staples you'd expect. While the buffet still offers a good variety of choices, the overall selection felt slightly smaller than many newer Golden Corral locations we've visited. The biggest drawback is the restaurant itself. This location hasn't received the newer Golden Corral remodels, so the dining room feels dated compared to recently renovated stores. That older layout may also contribute to the buffet appearing more compact, with fewer serving stations than the chain's updated restaurants. Overall, this is still a good buffet restaurant in McDonough if you're looking for hot comfort food, friendly service, and a convenient meal near Interstate 75. While we'd love to see this location receive the modern Golden Corral upgrades, it continues to deliver a reliable dining experience that earns a 4 out of 5 stars. Pros: Friendly, attentive staff Hot, fresh buffet food Classic Golden Corral favorites Convenient location just off I-75 Good overall selection for most diners Cons: Dining room feels dated Smaller buffet selection than remodeled Golden Corral locations

We ate there today and I have never been so disgusted with a restaurant before. One of the workers came out of the restroom and sat on the floor and said he was having dry heaves. Then some of the other employees went in there and came out laughing and it became a big joke to them while one of the waitresses came out gagging. The employee who came out first later came out of the restroom with a black bag and carried at arms length through the restaurant into the kitchen. Obvious health violation. He was later cleaning off the tables without any gloves on. My husband later called and talked to a manager and his attitude was basically so what. We spent over $30 and after the incident we couldn't wait to get out of there. read more

I would like to express my disappointment with the ambiance during my recent visit. The restaurant played VERY loud rock music continuously, which created a disruptive and uncomfortable atmosphere. Unfortunately, this made it very difficult to enjoy the meal and detracted from the overall dining experience. I kindly suggest that the management consider adjusting the volume and variety of the music to better accommodate the comfort of ALL guests. read more

There is always a line waiting to get in the door when it opens around 11:30am. The food is delicious everytime we have been. Decent selection of food, but most of it at room temperature or close. I didn't dare eat the chicken when it was clear that it had been sitting there for a while at room temperature, will be shocked if I'm not sick tomorrow. Same with the cobbler. I tried the rolls and garlic bread - both so hard as to be completely unpalatable. Salad bar was probably the best part, but everything there was very low quality as well. Beyond that, the food is all very underseasoned and bland. And how do you make cheesecake bland? I mean, how is that possible? All the server had to do was give my a seat, some water and clean utensils, and I did get a seat - but the knife had a big blob of something green stuck to it. They brought me a new glass of water when the first when dry, but it had a funny/bitter flavor that wasn't there in the first one. Considering the fact that the knife wasn't clean, I would assume the same went for the glasses. Worst of all, I left a tip at the table (not required for a buffet, and certainly not earned as noted above); but when I declined to tip at checkout, they had the nerve to ask if I had tipped at the table - as if tipping was somehow required. And then argued with me when I made it clear that asking was inappropriate. Incredibly rude and a terrible way to treat customers. I should have made more of a scene, but I calmly made my point clear, no need for more drama. Will not be going back, and will suggest nobody else does either - if you want a reasonable buffet experience anyway. Edited to add: After writing this review, I decided to research to see if I was the only one that had a bad experience, and found a LOT. On Yelp, they have more one star reviews that two, three or four stars - making me think that many of the 5 star reviews are not legit. Just go to Yelp, and sort by newest first, to see that 3 of the last 5 reviews were one star - 4 of 6 if you include mine. Also, according to the AJC, this restaurant has had multiple failed health inspections in just the last five years: November 2025: Scored 59/U (Unsatisfactory). Violations included food not held at proper temperatures and cross-contamination issues. December 2021: Scored 52/U (Unsatisfactory). The restaurant failed its routine inspection after staff were observed failing to wash hands, alongside improper food storage and temperature violations. May 2021: Scored 37/U (Unsatisfactory) 37? 37?? That's not just a fail, that's a not even trying.
