I have been here a few times now and the food is always hot and fresh. There are some items that are better than others, as with any buffet. I really enjoy the fried green tomatoes, fried chicken, Mac and cheese, black eye peas, chicken and dressing and meatloaf. For me everything else is just blah. It's a small "home style" buffet. I went on the second day of opening and I would say they handled the crowd quite well. There was about a 5-10min wait. As with most buffets you pay first. They offer a senior discount starting at 62 and 2 and under eat free. My faves were the fried chicken, sweet potato casserole, fried zucchini, black eye peas, mac n cheese...well quite a few things. I was not fond of the cabbage. They would run out of things but replaced it pretty quickly. The only thing I noticed was that as food was being replaced it seemed liked the seasoning wasn't as good and then when the mac n cheese came out about the 3rd time the cheese wasn't brown at all...just left intn the oven long enough to melt..just little things they have to get better at. Hopefully this will get better as time goes on so they won't feel as if they have to rush and put things together. Overall I enjoyed it. Customer service was great, we were helped by a young lady named Devlin, I think. Will definitely go again. read more

It's a good place to get a load of southern cooking. You don't have to wait too long for fresh fried chicken or fried green tomatoes. They have a good variety of foods and they have daily specials. This is our "Go-To" spot on a Sunday afternoon after church. Everything taste so good. So much to choose from. Fried & baked chicken, meatloaf, collard greens, Lima beans, rutabagas, black eyed peas, cabbage, potato salad, etc....You will be satisfied. Now, my sister on the other hand said that she didn't care for the place. One downside was she & her husband was seated by the window & there were ants all over the place. She asked the server about why they had ants knowing that it is a restaurant, the server replied that they have been trying to get rid of them but they keep coming back. This is a great country buffet that includes unlimited drinks for under $10:00. The vegetables are always fresh and tasty the meats good and decent desserts. Try to get there when they open at 11:00 the place gets real crowded. Good Service also no complaints. read more

The food is always fresh here and hot. The fried chicken and bbq chicken were cooked a little bit much tonight and it was dry. The servers are always very friendly and super helpful. They have great attitudes. The prices are just right. We have been a couple of times and will definitely be back. My husband and I were there on 10/13/18. It takes the staff the longest tine to refill empty items. I asked for some Peach Cobbler. There was a pan with "peaches" in it with no "crust". I asked five different people when were they bringing out some more Peach Cobbler. Each time I was told "in a few minutes". It never came. I ended up asking the "Assistant Manager". He came and "stirred" the peaches and told me he would bring some more out. I waited along with another gentleman for "20 minutes", still no Cobbler. I finally asked another young woman about the Cobbler and she said the "Assistant Manager" said he was not going to bring anymore out until the pan was empty. Please know that our meals were not "free",we paid for them. We are very dissapointed with the "Assistant Manager". How do you leave a customer standing at the desert table and not come back to tell them you are not bringing the requested item out? This is not good business. We were at this same establishment two weeks ago. This same Assistant Manager was putting food out. His sleeves were "pushed up". However, when he reached across the lettuce to put tomatoes and onions on the back row, his shirt sleeves "dragged" across all of the items on the front row. All the "germs" and "whatever else" on his sleeves were then on the food that people were eating......not sanitary at all. I hate to see what goes on in the kitchen. We will not be eating there again.....EVER read more

Price was great and food was AMAZING!!!! Everything was so good. Fried chicken, greens, mashed potatoes, cabbage, butter beans, candied yams AND of course really good fried green tomatoes along with MANY other choices to fulfill your southern cravings not to mention a full salad bar also peach cobbler, banana pudding along with many more delicious desserts. The food was acceptable but nothing great. The fried shrimp on Friday were good, pre-breaded of course, nothing fresh. The main issue was they close at 9 but they quit putting out food about 8:30! If you get there like I did after 8 you're paying for scraps. At 9 o'clock all of the buffet and desert items were gone. Not a good way to do business. Great food and service! My group of 6 had lunch at the McDonough location on a Saturday. Lunch price for seniors is very reasonable. Less than $10.00 for the buffet, salad bar, dessert bar and drink. The fried green tomatoes are the best! Hot and delicious! The buffet is good ol' country food! Fried okra, collards, cabbage, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, Lima beans, yams, and other veggies. The salad bar has many fresh items to choose from. The banana pudding is delicious! The service was wonderful! The waitress kept our drinks full and plates cleared. Everyone was very friendly! Small country style buffet. Food was nothing to rave about. 3 Cashiers tried to take money, be a hostess, and clean tables. Very unorganized and inexperienced in running a restaurant. Have plenty of open tables, but still had to wait 20 minutes to be seated. Manager should of been working with hostess in seating customers.
