Getting into their online system, I would get repeat requests to sign up even though I was already in. I also required a special two factor authentication. This would get annoying. Once I got a bill, I got emails at 2am asking for payment. This was also unnecessary. The worst part was advising me on what to do in the case of a marriage separation. Not only did I end up owing so much I had to deplete my emergency fund, but I had to pay 3k to learn that. I was asked once about my filing status and dependencies without being told how devastating it could be if that changed. In addition, they filed an extension, and I now owe interest and penalties. Yes, life changes mean financial hardship. But I was not properly advised and this ended up being the worst experience I've ever had with a CPA.

Kevin Aderholt was extremely thorough and not only did the filing for me, but also educated me on what I needed to do moving forward to remain in good standing with the IRS, as well as save the most money on taxes long term. As a small business owner, this gives me much needed peace of mind and it means that my taxes are one less thing I need to worry about since I know that I'm in great hands with Scott & Aderholt. I'm happy to say that I'm a Scott & Aderholt client for life, and I happily recommend them any chance I get.

Things are great...until you step into an Aston Martin - then you find out what you have been really missing. Our business has been through a couple bookkeepers, and they were okay, but we would find errors in invoices every now and then, which is a big deal, especially when it comes to our professionalism with our clients. We decided to make the switch to Nicole to take over our books...and wow, it has been a night and day difference. Nicole and the BH Bookkeepers team have been ultra responsive and on top of all financial related work. I get monthly reports on our activity and all that number and tax related stuff I don't even know about just get taken care of. Even our CPA has commended us on the numbers. I never have to worry about that part of the business anymore because I know it's in good hands. We have now worked with Nicole for over 3 years now and the service has been consistent throughout. As a business that is growing, her ability to keep up and continue to go above and beyond in service is invaluable to us.

They are the worst tax preparer we have ever used. Lack of communication. I feel like I was being…read moretalked down to each time I called to talk to them. Zero explanation on anything that they do. They charged my bank account without any invoice or prior notification. It would be nice to know ahead of time if they are going to charge me for the service. I had to follow up with them multiple times to get a status on my 2021 tax return. On top of this, our 2020 tax return got audited by the IRS and now we owe more than $5,000. These were prepared by the Mathews Chacko team. I wrote them an email expressing my frustration with their service and seeking for their assistance, and I received an email from them telling me to pay the IRS. They pretty much can't help me even though they made the mistake in my tax return. See email photo I attached. That shows that they do not care about customer service nor my business. They can't even stand behind their own work. If they are going to claim something on my tax return that they should know will need receipts, then they should have ensured we have receipts to substantiate the claims when they prepared the tax return. I have used them for 3 years now and will not be coming back to this firm for my next tax return. Absolutely horrendous experience!

And what I mean by that is trusting someone to do what they say with no real hidden agenda, and only with my best interest at heart . Her and team had put a lot of time in going back researching and correcting mistakes made by my previous CPA law firm for over five years that I trust but fail me for not taking care of business like it should been and also the mistakes made by the IRS. Need a CPA, better check elsewhere. This is one or at least in my case, one of the worst CPA's in…read morethe area. Basically and simply greedy and wanting to do the least amount of work possible to get their paycheck. I literally had never used a CPA before and expressed this before coming into office. I was promised I would be taken care of, informed through the process and I can tell you, I was basically "taken" advantage of. I met Brandon (whose initials are a representation of the office) and tried to ask him questions during our less than 5-minute meeting that was rushed. From the get-go, the documents I was told to have prepared for the meeting were insufficient and Brandon requested more items. Which was fine but remember I am new to utilizing a CPA and relying on Brandon's office to help me prior to our meeting, which was simply emailed me a form of documents to bring which I had, but obviously the doc they sent was not updated. Next was just the overall customer experience... During my 5 minutes, Brandon maybe said 5 words, "hmmm", "oh" and "nodded" at the docs I did bring in. Literally still no explanation of anything, from what I need to do from the customer side of things...this continued throughout the rest of experience I encountered for this meeting and the duration of months I worked with the office. I never directly spoke with Brandon again, just got sent on my way and told to bring more documents. I should have cut ties immediately and took my service elsewhere but I just thought, maybe I just drop docs off and that's how a CPA works. Far from the truth as you are paying them to advise and work with you on your taxes... Advise from a professional standpoint better than me using FREE to $50 TurboTax. Hence, why you hear people say I can't advise on that, it's recommended you get a "tax professional". I tried to ask to come in the office to figure out what was actually going on if I was actually doing what I needed, and had questions and was deflected through email over and over again and did not feel any value as a client. "...Therefore, we are not responsible. Please take your business elsewhere." The last sentence written in an email to an error I literally figured would be minuscule ended our relationship.
