Friar Tux was fantastic! We shopped around and decided to go with them for a number of reasons: First off the store manager that helped us was super, super sweet. He took his time and even though they were busy when we just dropped in unannounced, he still made us feel important even while juggling multiple customers. The sales associate at the Downey location ( young man ) was very helpful in explaining how to fix the bow tie and exactly how to put on the cuff links. My young son and I felt comfortable leaving the shop knowing that we could put on everything correctly on the " big day". I really like the attention to customer service. I've used Friar for my wedding and unfortunately, funerals. For my wedding, they made it incredibly easy to have my groomsmen send in fittings measurements despite them being in different parts of the country thanks to their national network. For a recent funeral, they had a tux ready for me in a same-day request within a couple of hours (I don't think they do that much, but they knew I was in desperate need and expedited the request). Sylvia, the store manager made the experience truly exceptional! One can assume that because it's a small store, one will receive a "small store" experience, but it is the complete opposite. Okay, so this is going to be my go to for tux or suits! Lauralee (I hope that's how you spell) was amazing. I absolutely loved her, very knowledgeable. Gave honest opinions, was friendly, and was excellent at customer service. I bought a tuxedo and I have to say it's very nice quality, and wasn't too expensive either. Will definitely go back sometime if I need a regular suit. The rentals were even more beautiful. Wish they would have the rentals for sale tho. read more

Would not rent from this place. I came a couple weeks prior to my event, got fitted and everything went well. Came back on Wednesday to pick up my suit and try it on, and the shirt had a hole in it, and the pants were not sized right so they told me to come back Friday the day prior to the event. I come back Friday to pick up everything and they tell me the jacket was sent out as a mistake and to come the morning of the event to pick it up when they open. I got there at 10am when they opened and had to wait half an hour on a really busy day. The gentleman helping me offered me a discount for my troubles. I get to the wedding and find out I was not given cufflinks which I was supposed to. Returned the suit Monday and told them about the cufflinks and they said sorry. Then I told them about the discount and the manager stated that because I did make it to my event on time and nothing was late he could not give me a discount. I definitely won't be coming back here again. read more

Came here after our bridal party had a terrible experience at a competitor suit "wearhouse". Right off the bat the personal attention the manager gave us was impressive even when I was just shopping around. My fiancee returned with me and we were able to mix and match suit pieces until we ended up with the perfect outfit for our groomsmen on a mannequin. This is something the "wearhouse" wasn't flexible with. Not to mention the fit of the suit was better and slimmer than their competitor. We left with a smaller price tag, better looking suit, friendlier service than our first option and I wished we had stopped here first. My boys legs were swimming in the pants, i was told they would be a slim fit cut pants but they look more like a crew cut to me, you could nearly see the front of the shoe cause the pants were covering most of it. I asked why they look different from the black ones he tried on the first time, And he said that on that specific suit cole blue i believe it was called, they were not making it in a slim fit. I was told that all the suit came in a slim fit cut, apparently not, And to top it off they still charge me the cancellation fee, did not try to help me out with the situation or anything. I was just not happy with how it looked, and im pretty sure they saw it didn't look right. read more

I was very disappointed when this company sent my suit back to the headquarters location days before the wedding. I was told it's policy after a certain amount of days yet no where does it say where a customer can know that. Then after finally fixing the issue and sending me the suit, they sent me the wrong size shoes, yet another inconvenience. I had to drive all the way back to the store and exchange them. Luckily the wedding was not until 6pm that day or they would've ruined the wedding! I'll never do business with Friar Tux ever again. Sad because the groom had been coming to Friars for years.. Plus I was supposed to get a call from the DM, Erick I believe his name is. This happened Friday.. it's now Tuesday.. still waiting, this is how Friar does business?? DO NOT BUY OR RENT FROM THEM, my wedding was on 2-3-18 I rented a real nice tux from them everything seem good the guy who help me was kind and helpful........but the day of my wedding about a hour before the ceremony I put my pants on sat down in a chair ( first time wearing since my final fitting) and once a sat down the pants ripped down the middle huge tear, almost ruined the wedding thank god I was able to get another pair worst part is they charged me $60 bucks for the pants which is bs they said i was responsible when I all I did was sit down and they ripped ridiculous if you ask me I highly recommend you do not shop here read more

Silvia was amazing! She was very efficient and knowledgeable; she helped my BF find a nice suit for an upcoming event and I've got to say we will definitely be going back when needed. This particular location is located in a plaza with plenty of parking. At first you may think they're closed because you really can't see anything inside until you step closer to the front door.
