They are never open. Been to the door several times and no dice. Either update your hours or just stay closed. There are cheaper and more customer service oriented gun shops in town. read more

Can't wait to buy my second firearm there. Wonderful learning center, kind of like a museum brought my kids in and the wife is such a blessing from God. Learned some things and they had rare things for black powder guns I couldn't find any where else. Great place read more

I've spent roughly $1500 at Freys including a $900 Beretta so I asked about getting my 100 year old Winchester model 12 cleaned, and serviced for function and safety. They said "absolutely bring it on in." It took them a few weeks I guess because they never called so finally I went in to check. They were in a hurry to leave town but eventually they found my gun and charged me $200. I took it out and fired 1 shot, jammed shell. I tried to eject it but then the pump action froze up. After dismantle I noticed nothing was cleaned, nothing! They may have run a patch down the barrel but that was it. The gun worked fine before they had it but now...? Had to send it out of State to find out it was far from safe and could've fired with safety engaged. If you value your gun? I wouldn't bring it to Freys. read more

Nothing but professionalism and great service. I had a minor breakage at the range (rear sight drifted) and Ron was able to fix it same day short notice. read more

Gun store located in a normal looking house in a normal looking neighborhood. You walk in the door on the right into a room with used and new guns on racks and tons of reloading supplies. The back room has safes, accessories, scopes, and other goodies. It's nice to have some options in this town, and the staff was very friendly to me and answered all my questions. Only street parking, but there's plenty of it. read more

I have had numerous guns serviced here, and have purchased guns here as well. Very knowledgeable and great service. Just nice folks to do business with. read more

Great staff that helped us transfer a gun license. Super informative and nice! Would highly recommend!!

I had done a few transfers with this establishment and had no issues, however after setting up a transfer, Frey jacked up the fee that was charged without prior coordination, and at that point there is not much you can do other than have the item sent back to the seller. I will never use this business again. read more

Everyone at Freys has always gone out of their way to help me and teach me anything I've asked. Being a woman....I've leaned on Katie for advice for a beginning shooter...then an injured shooter, she'd never let me down with any of my purchases. Katie, the latest Sig you saved for me is awesome.....the perfect pistol for Me! I outshot the guys last weekend :-) This year I needed something different for my clients Christmas gifts for my Salon; had Katie order pepper sprays that look like a lipstick tube....I do think they will be surprised when they open them. Always a good time in Freys!!! read more

Ron and the family are outstanding to deal with. Great prices out custom firearms. I drive from Bakersfield to do business at Freys.

The business is out of the side of the owner's home and he has a nice selection of guns, ammo, and accessories. I bought some .40 SW ammo. The owner is very friendly and answered all of my questions. They even have a range that you could use for a fee. I will try the range once I get settled in. read more

I've been doing business here for 25 years without a single hitch! Frey's is dedicated to customer service and providing expert gun-smithing and sales. Stay out of the big box stores and go to this home town dealer! read more

Great group of guys who like guns, especially AR-15s. Very nice and helpful. Will be going back again. Entrance to the "store" is on the right. read more

Frey's got me 22LR ammo when no body else could. I called and spoke with a very nice person whom told me exactly what he had and how much was available. I think all Gun shops need to be friendly like this one. Great job! Keep up the good work. read more

Good people to deal with, very good customer service, good custom work that they've done for me so far I'd recommend to anybody

I've been living here since 2000, used the "other" gun shop in town for the first 8 years, spending literally thousands of dollars there, and finally had enough of their lackadaisical attitude, poor treatment, and seeming disregard for their customers. What a breath of fresh air at Frey's! Mom-and-Pop store, run by a husband and wife team, both hunters and firearm aficionados. Ron and Katey have both ordered multiple guns for me, and they've always come in when I was promised. No run-arounds, no stories, no explanations, just good service and true to their word. My wife is a shooter and appreciates having a woman to talk to for advice on firearms, without feeling any (unintentional!) pressure from her hubby. Guys--let a female hunter and shooter assist your woman getting into firearms--it makes a huge difference! Good choice of products for the female shooter, including CCW options. Decent selection of firearms (best in town) for such an isolated community, and prices are commensurate with big box stores. Used to have a really good selection of AR15 stuff, and did a lot of work with them, but recent law changes in California have steered them away from these weapons, and their parts/stock in AR15 stuff is much reduced/non-existent. They've got a good Duracoat guy on staff, with some pretty work on display. Typical example of this place: I bought night sights here for a Glock 23 recently, and they installed them for free, on the spot. They've got a good thing here. No longer working out of their older residential location, their new retail location has lots of parking and is easy to find, but there is a wicked bump getting into their parking lot--drive in at an angle! I've spent over $5K there in the last year, not including wife's purchases, so they're doing something right. This place is good to go. read more

Been doing business with the Frey's for some time now. Extremely knowledgeable about gunsmithing and supplies. A real gem of a family run operation. Highly recommend. Great honest people! read more

After a bad experience at Guns-4-Us I found this shop on the internet. They were very helpful so much so that one of the employees even took me down to the range to try a few handguns out - no charge his own time. This shop has my business, they're very nice, customer oriented and your best option far and away in Ridgecrest. read more

Being new to the area I wanted to check out the local gun shops. After a bad experience at Gun4us I was hesitant to check out another gun shop here in Ridgecrest but I was very surprised with how friendly and helpful everyone was here. Be prepared, It is in a residential area inside a home but don't let that turn you away. They are well stocked with guns and ammo (even 22lr). read more

i would just like to tell all of you that are looking fo a great place to do your gun business that frey's is as good as you can get. they are polite ,honest and as helpful as you will ever find. i have done business with thm on and off over 15 years or so . they have the best inventory and service. the people that use frey's seem seem to be more like club members than customers. just thought that i would pass this along. they deserve the cudo'looking at fragg b ,sreview--- all i can say is frey's was at their residential location for a lot of years. i guess it didn't bother them neighbors much. maybe they even scared off some that might have caused problems in the neighborhood. thanks chuck peterson read more
