Still, they do have their fair share of actual surplus (helmets, gas masks, sniper veils, ammo cases, etc), and other things like throwing daggers. The guy working the counter was pouring gunpowder into a funnel while we were looking over the snake venom extractors and NASA-made urine bags. Looked like he was filling bullets. Helpful guy.

Had such an amazing time with Sierra South Mountain Sports in Kernville! From check-in to the…read moreactual rafting experience, the entire staff made us feel safe, welcome, and excited for the adventure ahead. Huge shoutout to our guide, Nick, who honestly made the experience even better. He was funny, knowledgeable, calm under pressure, and kept our raft hyped the entire time. You can tell he really knows the river and cares about everyone having a safe but unforgettable experience. The rapids were SO much fun -- definitely an adrenaline rush -- and the scenery along the Kern River was absolutely beautiful. We even had one of our girls fall into the rapids, and the rescue team reacted immediately and handled everything perfectly, which made us appreciate how trained and prepared they really are. If you're looking for an unforgettable outdoor adventure with great vibes, teamwork, and lots of laughs, I highly recommend Sierra South. Such a fun experience and definitely one for the memory books!

Dan was extremely friendly and helpful. I had my German Shepherd outside on the leash and Dan insisted I bring him in. I had my 6 and 4 year old boys with the intention of finding somewhere to fish for trout. Dan helped me add to my gear and shared some places to go. He knew lots of places to go and what the fish were biting and it was true. So this is more of a "Thank You" to Dan.
