I love this store and I'm happy they are very close to us! :) The store design is fantastic and I love their uniform. It has a very warm and welcoming vibe. We find products here that are usually hard to find somewhere else. The staff have been very friendly and helpful and when you have a question, they won't leave you till you find what you needed even if you ask them store manager. I love their butchery department and bakery the best. They always have fresh and high quality products that you can smell it from the opposite side of the store. Took my out-of-town aunt here Sunday at 12PM for the All you can eat Saturday/Sunday only 9AM-2PM brunch. For only $20! Super reasonable price. There are washrooms quite near; gender specific, many stalls. If you can find somewhere to sit you "claim your chairs" - bring a coat to leave on the chair! - and then go pay and grab food. No waiters. Once you pay you get a stamp and can go get food. Food options included were sourdough pancake, sourdough pancake with blueberries, sourdough French Toast, scrambled eggs, Fruit Cobbler, Sweet n' sour pork, Potato pancakes, Smashed baby potatoes, bacon, sausage, fresh assorted fruit in fruit bowl (all mixed and diced - watermelon, pineapple, strawberries, few blueberries, melons, apple), and freshly carved ham. Also they make omelettes fresh/on-demand. sourdough pancake with blueberries - made fresh on a griddle right behind the counter, no sour taste which I was happy about. sourdough French Toast -no sour taste which I was happy about, really nice bread used. scrambled eggs - a little rubbery for me Fruit Cobbler - some of it was too soggy for me (I don't like that the bread was soggy where it touched/sat in fruit juice). Sweet n' sour pork - nice light flavor, not too tangy. Potato pancakes - a little bland for me Smashed baby potatoes - really well done, loved the crispy bits. bacon - unlimited bacon! but there is a lady who doles it out but she was happy to give by 3 slices 3 different times. Sausage - BEST breakfast sausage I have ever had. Not fatty or greasy. Super nice flavor. Assorted fruit in fruit bowl - Was easy to pick out the fruit you wanted as long as you don't hold up the line. All cut up already into bite-sized pieces. freshly carved ham - really nice, not too salty, not dry. Omelettes fresh/on-demand - my aunt was really happy with hers. Overall 100% would recommend if you don't mind finding your own table, getting your own food, and doing a little waiting in line (there was aways a small line to move though the food). Freson Bros which is an Albertan family owned grocery chain that opened in Edmonton back in March. The store emphasizes on Alberta grown produce. There was lots of hype surrounding its opening and there were long lines waiting to go in when it first opened. I checked it out a few weeks after it opened and I'm not sure if it is worth the hype. There were a wide variety of local company products that can be bought at this store which is great. However the goal of my last visit was to try their in store made food. The ready made food in store was very disappointing. The Alberta Pork Ribs which they claim to be cherry wood smoked for 18 hours was very dry and salty. The hand cut potato wedges and potato salad were nothing special and got too salty. The classic smashed burger was a normal burger that wasn't worth the price. The large chili was overpriced for the portions that was given and reminded me of the chili you can get at Tim Hortons for less the price. The ready made food was just really mediocre. Perhaps just stick with doing grocery shopping here. Ordering the ready made food here is not a good idea. read more

I love coming here! I always feels like a special outing to check out what new items they have in store... and to smell the fresh bread they have baking. How can you resist buying a loaf? I know I can't! The people working in all the departments are always super helpful - from the butcher to cashier everyone seems to have a smile on their face. I also like the fact I can find locally produced produce and items here... it feels nice to support local even when I'm going to a big grocery store. I love coming to Freson Bros! Since we only have one store in Edmonton, it feels like a mini field trip every time we come here. I love how they support local businesses too. It's fun to check out the different aisles. The store is well organized and attractive to look at. My husband and I are ADDICTED to the Alberta Sourdough bread. It's the only bread we've been eating. The bread goes well with pretty much any condiment or meal you want to pair it with. It's a bit more expensive than your average loaf of bread but you're paying for quality. We've made trips here just to buy this bread. My husband and I loved the locally made Manoa chocolate when we visited Hawaii. We even visited the Manoa Chocolate factory. Imagine our surprise when we found Manoa chocolate stocked at Freson Bros!! I was so excited to see this chocolate being sold in Edmonton! Not only did they have it stocked but there was also a variety of flavours to choose from. Finding this chocolate made my day! Overall, I totally adore this grocery store. After over a year of waiting for Freson Bros to open, I am delighted to have such a wonderful shop in my part of town. Freson Bros is a higher end grocery store, with more specialty ingredients than a normal Safeway or Save-on-Foods. All the normal groceries you would want to get are also available here. The store is laid out nicely, with a good flow between sections. There is a large organic section, with many grains and ingredients I have been unable to find elsewhere. The meat department has a lot of different cuts of meat, and I love that labels tell you which Alberta farm they are from. The deli has a big cheese variety, and a dazzling array of pastries. The real home run of Freson Bros, for me as a baker, is the range of ingredients and equipment they carry. Along with food, they have a section called "Baker's Pantry" that is full of supplies like piping tips, pie weights, pans of many shapes and sizes, and every type of sugar or topping you could need for baking. There are a range of specialty chocolates (solid, chips and squares) for baking, including basic, and super premium. The dairy section even carries imported butter (with higher fat content, important for some recipes) if you feel like splurging. After having to make trips further into the city center to specialty shops to get some of these items, it's such a treat to have them carried at a grocery store in the southwest. I've gone to Freson Bros twice in the evening, and found it to be pretty busy (even at 10 pm on a weekday!) so it looks like the secret is out. I'd highly recommend checking them out, whether to grab some ingredients for a new recipe, or to shop in a snazzy new store. read more

This is such an awesome grocery store!!! First of all, it's local, Alberta born!! There's free ice cream for little kids here so be sure to get some for your kiddos. The hot food section has some great finds for a quick dinner. They have specials too so check that out online. You can collect points here for your shopping as well. Our favourite item is the sourdough cinnamon buns! They are to die for!! Their bakery section has a lot of delicious options. They also have craft beer you can have a break and have some food and beer in their cafeteria section. They even have flights of local beer on tap so try them all! Their candy section is also amazing! With wide ranging candy from saltwater taffy to old school favorites to new unique finds! They have a lot of local brands and locally made treats here too. This is a fun place to spend an afternoon shopping for groceries. They even has specials like 5 meat items for $25! Sign up for their emails to get their specials and event notifications. Shopping here is phenomenal, I don't come here often because they're not readily available everywhere in the city like superstore. Place has the most unique items from all over the world. Just feels very welcoming and home like in woodland feel area. The first thing that will get you is the bakery smell of freshness from there it's exploration to the max. Have a chill time in there if you can, take your time if you have it. Trust me you will find stuff to your liking at least I did, for ex. Bubble gum ice cream. Come at random times too, they usually carry stuff as they come such as caramel spread by Cadbury in a jar. Like really?! Yumm that would be my new peanut bread spread. Unfortunately they didn't have any as of this time of writing. Another cool thing is they have a dining area, haven't tried yet but looks warming too. Plenty of parking. Atmosphere is calming in the morning, feels like a newer superstore. Membership is free based on a points system similar to superstore and they have an app. read more

This is an amazing secret for great food! I am not sure how long it will stay a secret but their restaurant is 5 star food for very reasonable pricing! I have tried their weekend brunch for $15 and it was unreal...similar to a hotel brunch experience just more reasonable on price! We have also enjoyed the all you can eat fish and chips on Friday - absolutely delicious plus they are licensed so you can enjoy a local craft beer with your fish and chips - great price for great food! read more

This is expensive for what it is although they push this as Alberta grown there are a lot of generic items available at any other supermarket. The meat selection is quite extensive, but again there's a lot of pre packaged available everywhere. Saying that there are items that are available here that are not the general run of the mill. I will probably go again but only for certain items that aren't available elsewhere. Worth a look but not going to be used for general groceries read more
