I'll go as far to say that this is the nicest grocery store in Edmonton. One stop shop. Beautifully laid out. The staff were very professional. They have grocery baggers! Room in the isles for more than one cart. It looked very elegant. Speciality items galore. Bistro. Deli. Everything. It's out of my way, but if I'm in the West end, I will go again.

Delicious Manoa chocolate from Hawaii - middle row.

I love coming to Freson Bros! Since we only have one store in Edmonton, it feels like a mini field trip every time we come here. I love how they support local businesses too. It's fun to check out the different aisles. The store is well organized and attractive to look at. My husband and I are ADDICTED to the Alberta Sourdough bread. It's the only bread we've been eating. The bread goes well with pretty much any condiment or meal you want to pair it with. It's a bit more expensive than your average loaf of bread but you're paying for quality. We've made trips here just to buy this bread. My husband and I loved the locally made Manoa chocolate when we visited Hawaii. We even visited the Manoa Chocolate factory. Imagine our surprise when we found Manoa chocolate stocked at Freson Bros!! I was so excited to see this chocolate being sold in Edmonton! Not only did they have it stocked but there was also a variety of flavours to choose from. Finding this chocolate made my day! Overall, I totally adore this grocery store. Some things are pricier than your average grocery store but the quality and selection of items are amazing! I wish they would open more stores in Edmonton!

Just found it. Fresno Bros has weekend brunch. The food is delicious and price is reasonable. $15/person, weekend brunch buffet.

This is such an awesome grocery store!!! First of all, it's local, Alberta born!! There's free ice cream for little kids here so be sure to get some for your kiddos. The hot food section has some great finds for a quick dinner. They have specials too so check that out online. You can collect points here for your shopping as well. Our favourite item is the sourdough cinnamon buns! They are to die for!! Their bakery section has a lot of delicious options. They also have craft beer you can have a break and have some food and beer in their cafeteria section. They even have flights of local beer on tap so try them all! Their candy section is also amazing! With wide ranging candy from saltwater taffy to old school favorites to new unique finds! They have a lot of local brands and locally made treats here too. This is a fun place to spend an afternoon shopping for groceries. They even has specials like 5 meat items for $25! Sign up for their emails to get their specials and event notifications. Will definitely recommend this place if you're looking for something unique, a fun culinary gift or just free ice cream for the kids!

I had lunch there today. Beef short rib combo and the pull pork sandwich combo. Delicious and a good deal.

    Review Highlights - Freson Bros

I've gone to Freson Bros twice in the evening, and found it to be pretty busy (even at 10 pm on a weekday!) so it looks like the secret is out.

There's a lot of parking and the carts did not require coins (quarters) to use. COViD protocols are followed here and there was a person there to wipe down my cart before using. I wasn't sure what to expect cuz google reviews referred to it as a desi store, and their store opening neighbourhood mail out noted it was a south Asian grocer. I was pleasantly surprised that there's a ton of variety here catering to all sorts of Asian groceries as well as western groceries. The building is brightly lit and the produce is plentiful, fresh, lots of different kinds (including Asian veggies) and affordable (I saw no bruising or wilting on the fruits and veggies either). I'd say a large majority of the store caters to East Indians which suits the demographic here, but there was also lots of foods that specifically target Filipino, Korean, Chinese, etc. that would usually be found by going to multiple specialty shops...I'm glad it's like a one stop shop! There were a lot of discounted goods too and some even have stickers with additional savings at checkout; $5 fully decorated fudge cake?... Um yes please!! Honestly, I walked in for fruit and came out an hour later like a bandit! There's even some interesting flavours like fruit HP sauce, or masala smoked chicken deli meat. I am also impressed they sell a good variety of meat skewers and halal meat. They also sell reusable grocery bags if you forget your own, or you can ask for a box which is free. You can also opt to donate $10 for a mystery grocery food bag to be donated to the less fortunate fortunate. I'm pretty pumped that this place is so close to home, it might even become my new regular grocery store since there's so many new things I want to come back to try and add to the weekly family meal plan.

But No Frills had stock in sale items I wanted to purchase and I didn't find it dirty. The produce section had a great variety as good prices. I bought a huge tub of blueberries for $4! Some of the fruit didn't seem so great with bruises but most of it was fresh. Found lots of great buys including canned tuna for 97 cents, chicken drumsticks for less than $2/lb, 6 bagels for $1.67, margarine tub for $1, and other items for $1. Wow, great prices! There are some departments that were smaller than other stores including the meat and bakery. Bring your own bags or you can use the boxes they have. Parking lot is a zoo though, as we witnessed a few near accidents.

Time and time again, I've noticed that they follow specific groups of people around the store -- especially Arabs, Blacks, and Mexican customers -- while completely ignoring others. They never seem to follow white customers or Asians, who they see as "their kind of people." My friends and I have never stolen anything, yet we are still watched closely every time we shop there. Even in a store full of people, the staff somehow always end up following us. We've confronted them about this multiple times, but they often pretend not to understand English just to avoid the conversation. This kind of racial profiling is unfair and incredibly uncomfortable. It sends a clear message about who they think belongs and who doesn't. I do not recommend this location to anyone, especially if you're part of a minority group. Just to add on this, H-mart is located on the south side of Edmonton, Near Health Sciences Jubilee Station, where you see a bunch of university students
