As you no frills fans may know, No Frills often has the "88 sale". When numerous items are priced very well, and the prices end in 88. This no frills store has the items in stock that are in the flyer, except when it comes to the meat that is on sale. It was November when they last has this "88 sale" and they had boneless skinless chicken breast on for $1.88/lb. I went in EVERY DAY of the sale (including the first) and all there was was an empty freezer with the sign still there (did they order any or just minimal?). Beside it was a fully stocked freezer of bone in/skin on for almost $4/lb (nice bait and switch attempt). I asked every day and they said that the chicken breasts will "be in tomorrow". I am not doubting that they got a few packages in during the start of the sale so they can say they "sold out", but in no way do I believe that for a whole week this happens. Fast forward to the flyer of January 9-January 16, 2015. This 88 sale comes back. This time in the flyer is pork loin for $1.88/lb and lean ground beef for $2.88/lb. Again I go in during day 1, and the freezer again is empty with the sign of $1/88/lb for the pork loin and the $2.88 for lean ground beef. Set up nicely are other in store "sales" which is medium ground pork for almost $4/lb and lean ground beef for almost $5/lb. Again, a classic bait and switch. They pretend they coincidentally are sold out of the meat on sale, but here is a comparable one for almost twice the price. I went in 3 separate days with the same song and tune of "we sold out fast, come back tomorrow and we will have some" The staff there are nice and by no means is it their fault, but I am beyond irritated with this bait and switch tactic they try. They don't even put something comparable out for the same price in order to make it up to customers. They just completely try to rake you over the coals.

When the closing sale happened we splurged on a lot of great spices and seasonings among other treats from all the departments (homemade pasta, cake, knives etc.) because we knew that it would be hard to get such a deal anywhere else or again. I already miss it. While they never successfully had EV charging insofar as I understand it, everything else was good (if pricey) but they couldn't make the business work in the long run so it is no longer there and definitely no longer open.

One of my favourite areas is the bakery. They have the best croissants! :) The customer service is great. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The store is big and has lots of spaces to move around comfortably without disturbing others which is another positive point for me. I think even though there is a bit of driving from my place to this store, we will go back there again at least once a week! :) I highly recommend this location!

Much of the cheap looking/previously frozen chicken is filled with water leaking from the "previously frozen chicken" . Chicken soaked in bloody fluid leaking all over the packages. You would have to be insane to buy red meat or steak from here as well. Low quality and poorly packaged. The dry stock is hard to mess up so I will give them a pass here. Minus each aisle always ALWAYS having staff ( kids ) on ladders with carts blocking the aisle, many of the boxes are left on the shelves after stocking as well. One till is all you will ever see open. I have never seen more than one open. The self checkout is what it is, although the staff have to bring you bags ( I guess they do not trust us to pay for them.....) .Note the bags are now done as of this week . So the self checkout is hardly viable anymore. Some of the staff seem alright, I note some serious attitude from a few of the young female cashiers, pretty standard to deal with that type of attitude these days so no suprise there either. I would rather go hungry than shop here, today I walked out in disgust and will never ever return. Sobeys isn't much better. Be a champ and drive to a real grocery store in St. Albert. Save on/Safeway. You get what you pay for.

We find products here that are usually hard to find somewhere else. The staff have been very friendly and helpful and when you have a question, they won't leave you till you find what you needed even if you ask them store manager. I love their butchery department and bakery the best. They always have fresh and high quality products that you can smell it from the opposite side of the store. Overall I have been always enjoying my shopping experience there and I highly recommend them! :)

There are washrooms quite near; gender specific, many stalls. If you can find somewhere to sit you "claim your chairs" - bring a coat to leave on the chair! - and then go pay and grab food. No waiters. Once you pay you get a stamp and can go get food. Food options included were sourdough pancake, sourdough pancake with blueberries, sourdough French Toast, scrambled eggs, Fruit Cobbler, Sweet n' sour pork, Potato pancakes, Smashed baby potatoes, bacon, sausage, fresh assorted fruit in fruit bowl (all mixed and diced - watermelon, pineapple, strawberries, few blueberries, melons, apple), and freshly carved ham. Also they make omelettes fresh/on-demand. sourdough pancake with blueberries - made fresh on a griddle right behind the counter, no sour taste which I was happy about. sourdough French Toast -no sour taste which I was happy about, really nice bread used. scrambled eggs - a little rubbery for me Fruit Cobbler - some of it was too soggy for me (I don't like that the bread was soggy where it touched/sat in fruit juice). Sweet n' sour pork - nice light flavor, not too tangy. Potato pancakes - a little bland for me Smashed baby potatoes - really well done, loved the crispy bits. bacon - unlimited bacon! but there is a lady who doles it out but she was happy to give by 3 slices 3 different times. Sausage - BEST breakfast sausage I have ever had. Not fatty or greasy. Super nice flavor. Assorted fruit in fruit bowl - Was easy to pick out the fruit you wanted as long as you don't hold up the line. All cut up already into bite-sized pieces. freshly carved ham - really nice, not too salty, not dry. Omelettes fresh/on-demand - my aunt was really happy with hers. Overall 100% would recommend if you don't mind finding your own table, getting your own food, and doing a little waiting in line (there was aways a small line to move though the food). But no one rushes you to hurry and eat or even say there's a 2 hour limit.

There's a lot of parking and the carts did not require coins (quarters) to use. COViD protocols are followed here and there was a person there to wipe down my cart before using. I wasn't sure what to expect cuz google reviews referred to it as a desi store, and their store opening neighbourhood mail out noted it was a south Asian grocer. I was pleasantly surprised that there's a ton of variety here catering to all sorts of Asian groceries as well as western groceries. The building is brightly lit and the produce is plentiful, fresh, lots of different kinds (including Asian veggies) and affordable (I saw no bruising or wilting on the fruits and veggies either). I'd say a large majority of the store caters to East Indians which suits the demographic here, but there was also lots of foods that specifically target Filipino, Korean, Chinese, etc. that would usually be found by going to multiple specialty shops...I'm glad it's like a one stop shop! There were a lot of discounted goods too and some even have stickers with additional savings at checkout; $5 fully decorated fudge cake?... Um yes please!! Honestly, I walked in for fruit and came out an hour later like a bandit! There's even some interesting flavours like fruit HP sauce, or masala smoked chicken deli meat. I am also impressed they sell a good variety of meat skewers and halal meat. They also sell reusable grocery bags if you forget your own, or you can ask for a box which is free. You can also opt to donate $10 for a mystery grocery food bag to be donated to the less fortunate fortunate. I'm pretty pumped that this place is so close to home, it might even become my new regular grocery store since there's so many new things I want to come back to try and add to the weekly family meal plan.
