Oakaka rice bowl; black beans, guacamole, corn, beet slaw, brown rice, and added chicken protein... DELICIOUS!
Trevor S.

A healthy bang for your buck! I got the Oakaka (probably spelling that wrong) rice bowl with added chicken for $1.50. Keep in mind everything there is vegetarian, so adding protein will always be extra. Service was friendly and quick, meal was very healthy (black beans, rice, kale, corn), tasty, and filling. Total came to just over $11, so you really can't complain. I did takeout, but the atmosphere for eating in is pretty nice and modern. Would definitely recommend, check it out!

I'm a big fan of Freshii's bowl!!! I normally ordered a quinoa base with tofu added,,,, 11.25 for a pretty filling and healthy bowl!!!!!

Oaxaca bowl with chicken

One of the healthier options available for students in waterloo! Ive been here a couple of times and on my last visit I ordered the oaxaca bowl with added chicken. Overall the bowl is very good, the dressing is delicious and the veggie combo works well. As a meal, I don't think it'd be filling if you don't add some kind of protein. I think for around $11.50 it's a bit on the pricy side for campus food, but still nice to treat yourself once in a while for something healthy and yummy. We came around lunch time so service was a bit slow but not a big issue. The place itself is nicely lit, has free WiFi, and has a good ambience to it. Will be back!

I love freshii. It's hands down my favourite fast food spot near WLU campus. I like that I can customize things because I'm picky!! It's always great. Even when it's busy the wait isn't too bad.

Really good bowl!

I have wanted to give the place a try. Next to it was a Freshii that seemed new to me, too. Last Sunday, I walked into Sunset Grill. Three people were waiting ahead of me. The entire place was busy, with all tables taken. It was just before noon. Instead of waiting, I visited Freshii. I was the only customer. I ordered my favourite salad, the fiesta, with tofu. I also got a box of energii bites. For some reason, the debit-credit machine and I weren't getting along. I went to insert my credit card and the entire transaction was cancelled. I tried again and my credit card was declined. That was odd, considering that I had just used it moments before I ended up at Freshii. Instead, I used debit and all was great. My fiesta salad was fresh and delicious. The tofu didn't taste as yummy, though. I don't know if it was older tofu or a different texture than what I have been used to at Freshii. I tried the energii bites for the first time. Wow, the coconut flakes, chocolate chips, and peanut butter combination delicious! I make my own, but need to add fresh coconut. The place got busy by the time I was about to leave. The downside is that folks waiting for their order tend to stand in a narrow path out the door. So, I had to excuse myself to get out. There is plenty of parking here. The plaza has a number of eateries that I need to come back and try, including Sunset Grill. (57)

The counter service was quick, I ordered and was in and out in under 5 mins. Got lunch for two and it was about $32 CAD. Wouldn't hesitate to go here again, as their entire menu is healthy and fresh. Of course if you don't like any of their signature salads, you can create your own. Good soups as well, had their version of the French onion soup and it was also good. Definitely give this place a try if you tend to frequent Williams.

The ingredients used in the meals are fresh and mostly non processed with the exception of the protein options like wild salmon, tuna, etc. You can make a meal our of salad bowl, design your own wrap, select from one of their signature wraps, or select one of their sandwiches. I have had the tuna melt and found it satisfying. Similarly, I have tried the various salad bowls, signature wraps as well as custom wraps. If you are really hungry but still want a healthy meal, I recommend going for the wraps as the portions are a decent size. Everything I have had has tasted great and most importantly I have felt great after eating it! For the drinks, you have your regular sandwich shop options but this being a restaurant catering to the health conscious, you will find freshly squeezed juices as well. Depending on what you are having expect to pay up to $11-12 with tax for the food. The freshly squeezed juices go for around $7. They allow take out or sit in. The restaurant itself is clean and well appropriately decorated. The service staff has been friendly and courteous on all occasions without exception. Overall, this location is off to a great start and I hope they keep it at this level and get even better. Highly recommended!

Environment: The restaurant is located at the King/University plaza, where there are ample of parking space and really convenient for those taking the bus as well. The restaurant itself is clean, well lit, and has a few seats. It's best to come in a group of 4 of fewer if you plan on dining here. The decor seems to be going for a "bathroom chic" as described by my friend -- "4 stars - delicious food, feels like I'm in a bathroom"! Lol. It's mainly because of the tiles on the wall and the uncomfortable seats. Food: The BOGO special only allowed us to order from their special bowls so we tried the Big Umami (salmon + tuna) and the one with the Duck. Quantity wise the bowl seems to be good value given that it normally costs $15 per bowl. They put a generous amount of toppings on top of the rice and the flavour was good and the fish sashimi was quite fresh. Definitely no watery/soggy texture! The food also looks damn good with lots of colours, which not only is super appetizing but also so Insta worthy!! Service: Basically fast food McDonald like ordering, no table service. When we were lining up they got someone to hand us the big cardboard menu and explained to us how the ordering works. However...they somehow managed to messed up the order. I got the Big Umami with rice and only one of them had rice while the other one was mixed greens :( definitely a little too healthy for me.....

I've heard that the owner changed several months ago and the place looks cleaner and nicer than before. There also grill the chicken to warm it up before serving it too! At the risk of seeming ridiculous, I have to say that the food court here is quite remarkable for its high vaulted cathedral like ceilings and good taste (which I'm probably comparing to what they were like before which seemed a bit dirty mass food prep and dark)
