These salads are so good as a healthy food. Many distances to keep our personal spaces as ambiance, and we give our money as service.

Given that much of the Middle East borders the Mediterranean, the lack of Middle Eastern seafood in Toronto is sad - but Ghadir Fish does its part in representation! They get 4.5 stars. Jumbo shrimp were grilled over charcoal. They were very fragrant & pretty tasty. It came with 3 (!) sides. Rice was good - fluffy & spiced with a noticeable cumin flavour. It was not salty despite its look. Batata Harra (spicy potatoes) were good: a bit crispy. The dish also came with bread (for the baba ganoush, maybe) so don't overload on carbs with your choice of sides. The bread was a bit old & pre packaged but I just took it as a bonus anyway. The baba ganoush itself was decent. Portions are big here. If you choose mixed vegetables they're just tossed with olive oil and garlic. The red sauce on the side was slightly spicy - more tart. It was good too. You can get whole fish sold by weight here too. They have some Middle Eastern drinks, like Mirinda Green Apple from Egypt & Mirinda Citrus from Saudi Arabia.

The tabouleh and baba ganoush were great too. Service took a while but I mean it makes sense so you can't complain. The ambiance is really unassuming but you're here for the food and that's it. Great experience

Sujuk shawarma bowl: the sujuk shawarma was more tender & moist than sujuk. It was a generous meat portion & moist & tasty. The flavour profile being different to shawarma was nice too. The sauces were very generous. Garlic sauce was pretty garlicky & Ghadir sauce was sweet but didn't seem to have character. Both were very creamy. The fries were fresh & seemed to be Cavendish fries.

Unfortunately I left with a strong sense of disappointment. We ordered beef shawarma that was dry and dull (though I concede that if we had gotten the house made hot sauce it would have likely been fire), and then ordered two skewers of shrimp with some sides. The seafood is served from a secondary restaurant to the beef/ chicken one - and though they didn't seem incredibly busy, we waited 45 minutes for two skewers! The more frustrating aspect was that I definitely saw people order and receive their food before me. When I asked, I was told that people had preordered food before coming, and while that may be the case I refuse to believe that two skewers took 45 minutes. I would have understood if someone told me they forgot about my order or they had a problem with the kitchen, but none such explanation happened. They didn't even apologize and the cashier seemed to actively avoid me, and instead busied herself by chatting with friends or cleaning up the odd table. In the end we only received the food after we actively started to leave without it. If there was a friendlier service experience I would go back and give them a second chance, but the cashier's attitude really put me in a bad place. I hope that this was a one off especially since they seem to have such a loyal clientele.

We went on a Tuesday, no one was there, I asked if the restaurant is Persian, the cashier lied and…read moresaid yes, but we found out later it was Afghani. We ordered Sultani, she explained its koobideh and lamb pieces, when it came the taste was so bad and it wasn't lamb. They brought us 3 glasses, one of them was dirty and the other 2 had the tag underneath, meaning it was never washed. This is the worst experience, I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. We left the entire food couldn't even eat it, while we already paid for it, as the system is you have to pay before you seat. We had to pay for our food while we were ordering at the cashier. They know people will complain, so they make sure they get paid upfront

After some comprehensive Yelp and Google searching, I decided to suggest Faryab. It turned out to be a rather good idea. They have a Faryab family meal for $53.99. It comes with a skewer platter (2 koobideh, two skewers of different kinds of chicken, and one skewer of beef chunks of some sort), a plate of qabili palaw with one lamb shank, a small plate of salad, and a basket of naan. The skewers were tasty and beautifully presented. The qabili palaw was large enough to feed 4 and the lamb shank was very tender. I wish there had been more lamb shank though. The lamb to rice ratio was rather lacking. The salad was salad and the naan could have been fresher, but all in all, it was a very satisfying meal. The chaplee kabob was $13.99. It came with two very flat, very crispy, seasoned beef patties over basmati rice, and a bowl of chopped tomatoes, onions, spices, all topped with a chili pepper. Safe, but tasty. We also got the zereshk polo for $14.99. The chicken was juicy and the rice was tasty. Tl;dr: Some Chinese aunties and uncles discover that they like long grained rice studded with dried fruit.

As a Haitian I know sometimes the customer service can be horrible although true about this place that's not my issue. When you first walk in it's hard to tell what the menu is... there's nothing listed anywhere so you have no clue what they are selling and there's also no prices. I ended up ordering a fish dinner with plantain and black rice. There was another man sitting and eating who was in deep convo with the woman taking my order who also wanted fish. After a conversation about there possibly not being enough fish to give me as a paying customer (the man seemed to be a friend of possibility the owner), they decided to give me my order. The meal came out and I was charged $50 for the single meal!! $50 CA DOLLARSSSSSS!!! Now I guess they can do what they want because there's no accrual prices listed! But $50 is ridiculous!!! And to add insult to injury it wasn't even that good! The plantain was hard like rock! Like it's been sitting there all day! The rice and fish had ZERO taste! It was a lot of money wasted! Not worth a penny if you asked me!!! The ambiance and set up is weird too... it's very dingy but again that didn't bother me because hole in the walls can have great food! This place is NOT that place!!! I will not be going back and wouldn't recommend!
