This is my second time visiting this location. I never knew they even had ramen until I looked them up on door dash one evening. I I love sushi but I've never had a fresh poke bowl before so I will be trying one next time for sure. I got the Tonkatsu Ramen tonight with extra marinated eggs and it was so good! The Tonkatsu is a pork based creamy soup. (I added chili oil crisps when I got home). The location is so clean and the food is so fresh! I'm obsessed with ramen bowls so this does not disappointed. There are not a lot of places to get a meal in Columbia SC on Sunday night. I was stuck looking around after other plans failed, and found myself here. From the outside, it doesn't look like a whole lot, but the inside was quite meticulously kept and had plenty of space to eat in, though most of their fairly vigorous business was takeout. As Poke-type places go, this one offered a ton of options. Virtually any diet could be accommodated, vegan and gluten-free easily so but also whatever you'd want in terms of limiting carbs. They had a splendid selection of ingredients with multiple fruits, several ways to get your greens, but also some delicious crunchy things and spicy sauces. And it was a good sized bowl. It was one of the better such bowls I've had, and for the ingredient quality, the price was not bad. Having been impressed into ordering a tea, I did not like that as much. My lychee tea was not excessively sweet, but the fruitiness didn't quite make up for it. The popping boba didn't quite pop the way I'd hoped either. Maybe another drink would have been better but I preferred the food over the tea. Love the food! However, I just walked in right before closing and asked the worker walking by if it was still open. The worker just completely ignored me. I was taken aback. I went up to order and greeted him. He continued not to say anything to me. As I was letting know what I wanted in my bowel he was angrily scoping the ingredients in my bowl. This place exceeded all my expectations! Portions were appropriate for what you pay. Ingredients were fresh and they have MANY options. I built my own bowl, customizing with half brow rice and half greens. You have the option of mixing protein options. The only upgrades you pay for I believe are avocado and crab stick. They don't overkill on the sauce (yay!) because sometimes the end of the bowl feels drenched in sauce if you go elsewhere. I loved the interior. Very clean with bright natural light. This is a build-your-own bowl shop with so many different choices. If you're not into making decisions, they also have a bunch of preset combos you can order from the get go. I went with a sushi rice bowl with half tuna and half salmon. From there, I topped it with everything from avocado and diced jalapeño, to seaweed salad and tempura flakes. For sauce, I went with the volcano fire which wasn't as spicy as it may sound. I'm not sure how I did it, but it all came together perfectly. Everything tasted so fresh and it was quite filling! Haha, I didn't intend to take a photo of an employee mopping the floor, but that sort of worked out perfectly, since my primary impression of this place relates to an overwhelming smell of chemical cleansing product. I thought about turning around and leaving upon entering, but hunger suppressed that urge. Came here for a light dinner. The location was easy but the parking was tricky to me because they have metered parking right outside. I ended up parking in the lot behind and hoping for the best. Poke bowls have recently become one of my favorite meals so I was dying to try out this restaurant. Upon entrance, I was really impressed with how clean the entire place was. The white floors are nearly spotless and the protective glass is translucent. I opted for a salmon bowl with a volcano fire sauce that was absolutely delicious. They have a wide variety of ingredients that all tasted top quality. The staff was also very helpful and quick to fill my order. Poke itself can vary based on the place you go but a good way to think about it is sushi in bowl. This place is located in a random area, but with lots of available parking. They advise because of COVID to order on their website and then pick up once it is available. I think this is great because fresh fish that is needed to also be airborne doesn't need to be exposed to so many and possible COVID. Also it keeps the staff safe and with the safe staff means that the business can stay open and running. Price is a little high ($12 for a bowl) but it filling. Parking is terrible - meters only that I could find but the weekend parking is free. The decor and vibe is refreshing, clean and hip. Hawaii is my home. So to my surprise here in Columbia, South Carolina there is poké in this city let alone this state. If you've been over paying elsewhere for sushi and what you really want is a donburi bowl this is the place. I ordered the Spicy Ground Ahi Poké Bowl over white rice with side ika salad topping. The ika sansai salad (squid salad) topping is $1 extra with the bowl. As a side alone its $4. The menu is clear and concise providing you the option to order from signature bowls or make your own creation. For first time visitors not familiar with this style of seafood best to order from the menus list of signature bowls and customize as you go. Interior. Its beautiful. It's bright like tanning in the sun. Ok exaggeration, but you get the point. It's sterile. For a place that serves fish, this place doesn't smell like the ocean. Lots of seating areas unless it's packed. Its clean and overall pleasant to dine in. Pricing. Regular $10.95+ tax. Large $12.95 + tax. It's deserving. The portion sizes will fill you up in addition to the added toppings, sauce and mix-ins. Drinks are $2 & $2.50. You could buy a regular bowl with a drink for under $15. Exterior. Looks sleepy. Blink you miss it. Perhaps if they darkened the exterior wall to make restaurant sign pop it won't blend in with the sky. My opinions: I thoroughly enjoyed my bowl with some minor issues, but I'll be back. The ika was tender and the spicy ground ahi was bomb. I felt the girl was a little heavy handed on the sauce but she knew what she was doing. I am not custom to having cilantro and cucumber with my raw fish, but for experience I allowed it on the side. I am a firm believer corn should never be in any poké bowl, but to each their own. I like my rice hot gives the impression that it is fresh. My rice was cold mostly soft, but I did have some cannon balled rice in my bowl. It wasn't busy on a Saturday afternoon for dining in, but within the 30 minutes they served including me 8 people. I wish this location was closer to the downtown and Main Street area. I had a bit of a hike to get here by walking but there's a little parking lot if you drive. I've been here multiple times already. The outside looks a little...bleak, but the inside has a much nicer and cleaner look. The staff here are also very friendly and helpful. Basically you chose whether you want a bowl or burrito, along with 2 or 3 proteins depending on the size you get. Then you follow your way down the bar selecting whatever toppings or add-ins your heart desires. I prefer Freshe Poke over the other poke place in town because they don't upcharge for stuff like seaweed salad, crab salad, etc. I believe avocado is the only add-in Freshe Poke upcharges for. The bowls and burritos I've gotten here all taste delicious, and the ingredients all fresh. I definitely recommend this place. Quick Read: Fresh, flavorful, and SO DARN DELICIOUS!!!! We stopped in before running some errands and were immediately greeted by friendly employees. The menu is straightforward and their Classic Freshe is delectable. The process works similarly to what you would find in a Chipotle or Subway setup, but explaining it that way does absolutely no justice to the amazing quality of the food. You can either sit in their clean and modern restaurant space, or take it to go in their sturdy containers. The fish was incredibly fresh and well-seasoned, and the rice was KILLER. There's a new poke place in town, and it's closer to where I live, so yay! Freshe Poke definitely gives the other poke place a run for it's money with its sleek and modern interior and lower average cost. The "fancier" mix-ins (seaweed salad, edamame, masago, and crab salad) don't cost extra except avocado and additional proteins, so my huge bowl only came out to be $11 with two proteins and a bunch of add-ons. I love value, hahah. It does make me sad that they don't have octopus as an option though, but I'll deal. I like that they do burrito rolls and salads and offer different flavored fresh brewed teas too. Service was friendly and super fast, so definitely worth a visit!
