Regardless of the flavor, one thing I noticed about Saffron Rose's ice cream is that they're somewhat similar to gelato, but with a slightly gummier texture to them. What's more, all of the ice cream is made with rose water, which, as mentioned, I'm not a huge fan of, though it was pretty subtle in all of them except the Pink Rose. Also, I didn't care for the wafers they give you either. While I appreciate that they can complement the ice cream well (they resembled those classic cake ice cream cones), the wafers had more of a soft, semi-stale texture rather than a crisp one (unless that's they way they're supposed to be). All and all, considering how they're one of the only Persian ice cream joints around, Saffron Rose is by no means bad in any way. At the very least, their ice cream is certainly unique and even better than some of the gelatos I've had. However, as someone who prefers a more classic, creamy scoop of ice cream, I think Saffron Rose is just okay.
