Fresh Thyme is a regional chain supermarket. It has similar departments as do other grocery stores--produce, meats, seafoods, baked goods, frozen foods, dairy and eggs, and some home goods and personal-care products--but the overall selection is smaller, and more organic items are offered. Prices are average. My husband and I occasionally visit this store to do our weekly grocery shopping. In the past, I liked the quality of the seafood, vegetables, fruits, and risotto. Most recently, we purchased just a couple of things that we needed, pancake mix and maple syrup. We used the self-checkout and had no problems with the machines. This Fresh Thyme is not our most frequently visited or favorite grocery store, but I do like it and recommend it for occasional shopping. read more

Great selection, prices and friendly service. They offer a fresh, organic and healthy products that can meet anyone's needs. I love tea and was amazed at the variety. I am a big fan of Fresh Thyme in Cranberry Twp. I stop here now rather than Giant Eagle. They have great sales & I like their brand of products & organic & vegetarian/vegan options. I think of them sort of as a cross between Trader Joe's & Whole Foods. You can even by CBD seltzers & CBD products here & lots of wholistic stuff. They also have a small beer & wine department. read more

Their supplement section is huge and well stocked. I also like their produce and organic selections. Prices are a little higher on some things but not all. They carry things other grocery stores don't and they have healthier selections on chips and snacks etc. read more

I'm not from around here and this was my first time at this Market. Everything was great quality and high end. Kind of reminds me of a Trader Joe's but more variety. Since everything is closed on Sunday and we were craving sushi, we decided to give the Sushi Bar a try. I don't normally but I'm really glad I did. The sushi was fresh and more delicious than the sushi restaurants I've tried here, which is surprising. We got the Golden Dragon Roll, Spicy Tuna Roll and Hawaiian Volcano Roll. read more

I consider it a treat to grocery shop here as I splurge on specialty quality items. For example, Kalona Super Natural organic milk from pasture-grazed cows on small Amish and Mennonite family farms. Luke's Maine Lobster Meat with Luke's secret seasoning. Josie's Organics Sweet Kale chopped salad kit. Royal Asian Gourmet Shrimp Wonton Soup. I also like the Fresh Thyme brand quality of their fresh pastas and fresh juices. And I can't browse the sizable health beauty wellness aisles without finding something I want. this is a brand new location, their third in Pittsburgh. And with a bit more selection in their meat and their seafood cases, this would easily be a five star store. They have it on here pulling your usual grocery items such as cereal, frozen foods, cleaning products, etc.. But they also have an impressive selection of beers, wines, and drinks such as Mike's Hard Lemonade. They have a nice selection of beautiful, fresh flowers, greeting cards and other small gifts. There's a nice selection of bulk foods, everything from nut butters to coffee, honey and nuts. They even have cedar planks (near the seafood and fresh meat counters), for that cedar plank salmon you want to make at home. They have a fresh salad bar, and a fresh juice and smoothie bar, all made daily. And if you're looking for a tasty, healthy meal to go, there's several varieties of cooked, organic rotisserie chicken. Turn around from the chicken station and you can grab a beautiful, fresh, flavorful salad to go, too. There is a place to eat inside, right along the front windows, with tables chairs and free Wi-Fi too. And this is a great place to teach kids healthy eating. Kids can pick a free piece of fresh fruit (right inside the doors). And for the grown-ups, there are wine tastings at least once a month at each location. Call for details. Kind of similar to a whole foods, but not quite there. Nonetheless it's a great grocery store and I'm really excited that this opened in Cranberry Township. Having a child I really think the little kid shopping carts are so cute and the kid bins up front with a treat for kids to take is a really nice touch. Having shopped at the Bridgville location I think this new location is much nicer. The store is so new and was completely packed with customers it was hard to walk around but I must compliment the staff because I didn't notice anything out of stock and checkout lines were quick. I recommend skipping Fresh Thyme, or at least this location. Employees have poor attitudes, the produce is not fresh and is actually disgusting. Employees generally seem miserable and have little interest in helping customers or keeping expired or rotten products off shelves. Tonight, I pointed out to the produce stocker that a bag of mini peppers, and numerous bags of hatch chili's were rotting. After huffing and arguing, he rudely grabbed everything and threw it on the ground only to put the rotting mini peppers bag on the shelf after I had walked away. I've given Fresh Thyme a shot numerous times and always questioning why afterwards. Do yourself a favor and shop elsewhere. read more

Third visit here. Less busy than the previous 2 times I was here. They have a great selection of groceries & products for every type of consumer. Usually the employees are friendly & courteousness. However today my cashier was very rude. I asked Sandy if she was able to look up my card. Simple & polite question. She stared at me for what seemed like an eternity. She then proceeded to say no but is more like...noooooo. No explanation. Very rude employee. My reviews are normally positive. This experience had me walking right out of the store. Some markets are set up so badly and this is one of them. Literally they got things mixed in different places instead of one isle. If you don't know the store you got to ask.its not distinguishable. The Fresh Thyme parking lot had been slammed for a couple weeks right as they opened, but my coworker and I braved the crowded lot to check out the store. Fresh Thyme reminds me of a Fresh Market meets Whole Foods with a more conventional grocery store feel. Unfortunately, I had recently purchased a number of fruits and veggies or otherwise my cart would have been overflowing with Fresh Thyme's produce. I have been eating Keto since January and was hoping to find some special things for the diet. However, the store definitely seemed to be more focused on Paleo, gluten free, and sugar reduction rather than Keto options. read more

I stopped at the Fresh Thyme on Rt. 228 in Cranberry Twp., PA to get a veggie tray and fruit platter for the Super Bowl game. I asked the man replenishing the produce where I might find these items and he stopped what he was doing to lead me there. He really helped me and he was pleasant and kind in his manner. I also had an excellent experience with the person in charge of self-checkout. I didn't have experience with the process and she helped me get checked out with little problem. My husband and I stopped in to check out the newest "hyped up" grocery store in town. I have often heard it described as a combination of Whole Foods and Trader Joes, with better prices. The place was packed as it was only open for about a week when we stopped by. Before going, I had looked up the current produce deals and they sounded decent - sales included avocados, pears, cauliflower, among other items. Well, almost all of the avocados were mushy and overripe and everyone was digging to find the best ones. The rest of the sale produce had better quality. The regularly priced produce was nothing spectacular and when it came to items such as eggs, nut butters, oats, freeze dried fruits - I can go elsewhere and pay less. The one thing I will return for is to try the fresh meat counter. I have heard good things and a lot of the items are unique. Otherwise, I do not think I would do all of my grocery shopping here especially since I would have to fight cranberry traffic. However, if sales are reasonable and are items I am looking for, I would make a trip. It is a nice addition to the Cranberry hustle and bustle. read more

Not really impressed. A small store with very crowded isles and much of the produce is from Mexico where the health standards are not the best. Some things on sale were a good price but other things are why more expensive than Walmart or even Giant Eagle for the same organic stuff. The help there is a bunch of young kids that really don't know much or are very helpful. I think Whole Foods is much better. The beer and wine selection are not good at all. I was very disappointed in this place. There however seems to be lots of people shopping band beware, the checkouts were very long like Walmart on a weekend. read more

Fresh Thyme is a great Trader Joe's substitute in the west hills of the burgh. It's a little pricey, but that's comparable for any organic grocery store. They have a great selection of personal products and supplements that surpass TJs because they carry other brands other than just Fresh Thyme brand. Their in house brand is cheaper obviously and very delicious. Great for specialty products and organic items and much closer than TJ for us! read more

I have had several bad experiences at Fresh Thyme my last four visits. My cell phone app is not available in store, but opens outside the store. So, I don't get the deals. I just spent $83 dollars last Friday and, was not given the $10 back offer. What really got me, a watermelon purchased for $3.99, when cut to serve for Christmas morning, was totally rotten, that had to be thrown out. Fresh Thyme lost me as a customer. read more

I agree with another review that the veggies and fruit are not always as fresh and appetizing as I would hope. I still go to the store for fruit because their barn burner specials are good and the items on barn burner special are often quite fresh. I also buy milk and dairy there. I've had a couple of bad experiences at the deli counter, once a while ago and once recently with a sales girl who absolutely refused to talk loud enough for me to hear her. I know she could speak louder, she just didn't want to. Although they carry Boars Head items, I will be going to T-Bones for my deli items, They are much more concerned with customer service. My husband likes their store brand white bread, so I will buy that there as well. A couple of times I found a bread I had not seen before, I do not remember its name, but I have not seen it recently. Either it has been sold out by the time I get there, or they no longer make it. I've shopped at their fish counter a couple of times and think that their prices and quality are good. The man behind the counter said their fish comes from Euclid fish Market in Ohio. I am pleased there is another fish market represented in our area besides the Strip District businesses. I do like the flowers they sell, and they offer an item weekly at a price that is quite reasonable. This is not a store where I will do all my shopping, but I live within a mile or two of the store, so it is good for a quick food run for a few items. read more

Produce and other items are often very moldy. It's not what you'd expect from a place with "fresh" in its name. I wanted to like this place as it is much closer than both Whole Foods and Trader Joe's. I have given it a few chances, but am not impressed. Meh. Overpriced for many items. Produce is priced reasonably but most needs eaten that day or it goes bad. I've also wasted countless trips there for some special dairy items they carry only to find they were several months passed expiration. They are the best grocery store in the area! Everything is high quality, especially their meats! This store has a great selection of Gluten Free products (especially with pizzas). Everyone is extremely friendly and always happy to help. Personally, their stuffed portobello mushrooms are one of my favorites there, and their thick cut deli bacon! Plus if you keep an eye on their sales, you can get some excellent values here too. I shop here now instead of Whole Foods or Trader Joe's. read more
