This business nearly BURNED OUR HOUSE DOWN. We purchased our home in Oct 2019. Our upstairs…read morefurnace began making noise and vibrating. We had a home warranty company come out, and they couldn't determine the issue. Well, a few weeks later our fire alarms went off since there was smoke billowing out of our 1 years olds bedroom. The wiring had apparently begun smoldering. We called out the fire department, and fortunately, the whole home didn't burn down, and our boy didn't suffer smoke inhalation. A minute or two later could have been a tragedy. I have just now looked at our old AC records provided by the Seller. I wanted to see the specs on the system that was installed. The plenum has completely failed and now we have to replace it. What I also found was that this company INSTALLED THE OLD FAN AND BLOWER MOTOR TO REPAIR OUR ATTIC FURNACE. To be clear, the basement unit failed, and they took the used parts (of a 20 year old unit) and installed them into our attic furnace!!!! NEVER hire this incompetent company. I am thinking I just might sue them for negligence. The newly installed unit was shoddy, and the repairs were negligent.

I was left with few options when my a/c decided to stop working…read morein the middle of the night in August, in Atlanta, and my previous a/c vendor was unavailable due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Being a pet mom I always worry about my little fur babies, and seeing them panting and looking for relief from the heat only added to my stress! I was first pleasantly surprised to see that this company opened as early as 7 AM! I then read the reviews, as most of us that use this site do! I said a prayer and went ahead and gave Porter HVAC a call, and boy was it a blessing that I did! Mr. Porter answered the early 7AM call and was extremely professional and polite. He told me that because of my location which is in metro Atlanta, he could stop by my house within a couple of hours. That immediately brought a smile to my face! Then something happened that I didn't think was possible anymore........he did exactly what he said that he would do, he was in my driveway within 2 hours! Not only did he show up like he said that he would, he was wearing a face mask for safety during this pandemic. Within less than two minutes of me showing him my set up, he was able to diagnose the issue. He was very courteous and even broke the news to me slowly that my unit would need to be replaced sooner than later..... *inserts crying face.* To be fair, the unit was almost 30 years old! I was really put at ease when I saw that Mr. Porter wasn't pushy about trying to make me buy an a/c unit and in fact, he gave me an option that would cool me down for the time being. My pups and I were once again in the a/c and there was no question in my mind as to whether or not I would let Mr. Porter come back out to replace the unit. When Mr. Porter came back out to replace the unit, he once again showed up when he said that he would. Mr. Porter also provided updates during the repair, he stayed within the timeframe that he gave me when we scheduled the repair, the removal and installation of the inside and outside units was great, and he cleaned up after the work was completed. A+ all around! I highly recommend!

I was very uncomfortable because the technician didn't seem trust worthy and was not professional and I felt like he just wanted to charge me for anything and everything. He suspected I had a leak in my unit because I was out of freon. He didn't even have the proper tools to perform a leak test and had to reschedule. Instead of sleeping in a hot house again, I called ATS. It didn't even matter about going through my warranty company because I needed cool air in my house ASAP because it was unbearable. I was referred to ATS from a coworker who swore by Max, the owner. I called Max and he made himself available on a Sunday with short notice. I was thinking he would not come because I live pretty far away. Long story short he educated me on what the problem was, showed me proof of the problem, walked me through how he diagnosed the problem, then offered me 3 options on which solution to choose depending on my budget. He also educated me on the pros and cons of each option. He had all of his pricing outlined IN WRITING. Max was the epitome of professional and friendly. He went out of his way to take his shoes off and line the area where he was repairing to keep the house clean. Although my warranty company may have paid for a portion of this repair, it didn't matter because I would pay for great service, a quality repair and friendliness and professionalism rather than feeling like someone is trying to unnecessarily up sell me and rip me off.
