Since their move, they now sell cards and flower bunches in addition to their usual Birchcliff merch, coffee and food. They have a rotating seasonal menu. For the fall I decided to try the Pumpkin & Hazelnut Chai Latte. When you put cinnamon on top it tastes just like a Gingerbread cookie! I also ordered a gingerbread cookie shaped like a flower basket from @gbcookiescompany. Pricing is more or less the same as before the move. The ceilings are much higher in the new space. The outdoor patio is now more private and serene. There were only two people working the til and making drinks so sevice is slower than a Tim's style joint. The coffee is decent - but nothing really to write home about. Just a standard latte, nothing memorable. HOWEVER, the ham and cheese croissant is probably one of the best I've had in a while. Reason is that, while many folks commute using public transit, car owners drive to their destinations on weekends. This is a small, sun-shiny kind of space, with Wifi. The front part, especially, is a good place to bask in the rays. They seem to offer a few food choices for breakfast and lunch, but since I was just looking for a place to hang out for 90 minutes, I was going to be "minimal patron". I thought about another coffee, but decided against it, since I already had double the caffeine I usually consume before noon, I opted for the "cheapest" choice, in the form of a Perrier. Cha-ching and "ouch" and $3.74 later (OK it's CAD, but still), I'm left wondering whether I could have made a better choice: as in, a cookie and that bottle of water I had with me?

It will be revitalized for the next two years. Many businesses have shuttered for good. This one and its sister business, Bakery on the Go, were still open when I was there. At this store, when I walked in, I could tell that it was about to shut down. Most fridges that housed cold drinks were gone. There were still patties in their keep-warm display case. I also saw sausage rolls, which I loved. The woman there was friendly. Both the cafe and bakery accept cash and debit cards only. This place had hot foods and sandwiches. If you needed to kill some time, you could also grab a decent meal or snack here. It's bittersweet seeing businesses affected by the demolition. The woman let me know that there's a Cafe on the Go at Islington station. I may venture over there for my sausage roll and patties fixes. I may go on a subway reminiscing tour. There are also pastries, some vegan and some non-vegan. They also have some cookies. Their Matcha Banana Cream cookie is their best seller. In the near future, they will be offering more pastries. I ordered the following: 1. Banana Bread Matcha ($8.50). Banana cold foam with banana syrup, and matcha. There is cinnamon powder on top of the foam. 2. Matcha Banana Cream Cookie ($5.00). The Banana Bread Matcha drink was extremely refreshing and delicious. You started by drinking some of the foam, then stir it thoroughly. I could actually taste the banana flavour in the cold foam. The cookie was soft and chewy. You can taste the matcha flavour and the banana cream gives it just enough sweetness. Since this cafe is lactose-free, you get the milk substitutes without extra charge: oat milk, soy milk, almond milk, and pea milk. The customer service was good. You can watch them prepare the matcha powder and drinks in their open kitchen. They soft-opened on 2025-11-15. The cafe is comfortably sized. The colour scheme is matcha green, of course! There are two long benches with two small round tables. There are electrical outlets at the bottom of the benches for customers to use. There is easy-listening pop music playing in the background. My pasta was made on the spot by the same person who took my order and made my espresso. He was a very honest, hard worker who served customers while making the food and drinks from scratch. I watched him meticulously cleaning all the cooking equipment, espresso machine, countertops, surfaces, and cleaning the floors after serving his customers. I was very impressed by his work ethic and dedication. I tried the penne pasta with mushroom and sausage topped with Alfredo sauce. It came with garlic bread and salad. Their number one ordered meal. So good! The penne pasta with rossa sauce (rose sauce) came with chicken and mushrooms. I prefer the Alfredo sauce as it was rich creamy and delicious.
