This restaurant chain focuses on 100% plant-based food. Their food is made daily, in-house, and from whole natural ingredients. They have pizzas, shareables, tacos, burgers, wraps, salads, fresh bowls, cold pressed juices, power shakes, desserts, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. The food and drinks always taste fresh. Service is always great. There is indoor and outdoor dining. The soft-opening was on 2022-06-30 and grand opening will be on 2022-07-04. The manager of this location is Victoria. There is free WiFi. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible. There is paid street parking. Review 2022-081 You can also find me on Instagram @chuan_chee. Thanks.

Fresh is the latest craze on the Danforth, always seemingly packed (especially the patio) when I walk by. Good for them - given times like these, it's good to see some places have successful openings. Dropped by for lunch to see what the fuss was about for this vegan restaurant and got: - Cobb Salad: Pretty good size for the price. They had tasty "bacon" and "chicken" and a whole lot of veggies as expected. Best with the 369 dressing, which is a sweet and savoury blend of tahini, maple and lemon. - BBQ Burger and Dragon Fries: I went with their housemade grain burger over substituting it for a beyond meat patty. It was ok, a bit on the thin side but filling. There was so much bbq sauce though on the burger which drowned the taste out a bit. The quinoa onion rings were a tad hard but tasty. The rest of the burger was fine. The side dragon fries were basically standard fries with banana chilies, scallions and a cheese dip at the bottom. Would have loved a bit more cheese, but these were really tasty and elevated a standard side. - Quinoa Onion Rings: Standout dish of the meal. As a side order (versus topping on the burger), the rings were huge, tasted a bit sweeter, and the quinoa coating was perfect (not overly batter-y, interesting texture). I'd come back to Fresh just for this. Place has a nice clean vibe, and patio is always full for a reason. Table service was great - attentive, great suggestions, pleasant. Service to get a table was a bit weird. We told the person upfront that we wanted to sit inside (patio was full and we saw many tables inside free). She told us to wait 5 minutes (ended up being 10-15) and eventually sat us in one of the tables that was already free when we got there. Not sure if they're trying to manage the kitchen/cooking load, but that was a bit strange. Anyway, I can see why Fresh is a hit. It's tasty and (in these times) reasonably priced for what you get. I'm not an expert on vegan food but think this place is definitely worth a try.

I absolutely LOVE Fruit King. Here's why:…read more The produce is always fresh and somehow always seems to taste miles better than what I get at big chain grocery stores. Not to mention it's dirt cheap. I eat A LOT of fruits and veggies, which can get pretty pricey...thanks to Fruit King I can afford to feed myself :) And the good doesn't stop there. For such a tiny hole-in-the-wall market they still manage to have a great variety of produce. I should mention though that if you're looking for a fully stocked grocery you've come to the wrong place. However, they do carry things are difficult to find in regular groceries (for example, lemon grass...I can NEVER find lemon grass!). And you'll find other goodies besides fruits and veggies-- cheap spices, dry noodles, Asian cooking sauces, canned/jarred goods, dried fruit, etc. As far as service goes it's top-notch. The cashiers ring-in and bag your purchases at the speed of light. Fruit King is just plain delicious!

I just purchased 2 tubs of fresh organic strawberries for $3! Steal! That is way cheaper than St. Lawrence Market. I will keep my eye out for similar deals whenever I pass this place again. The inside of the store looks very similar to a Chinatown store setup, with a scale and 1 cashier at the front that quickly processes the transactions. It's true, there's no service provided here, and the area where they place the vegetable looks quite dingy but the freshness of their produce and price is what the 4 stars are for.
