Everyone should end their meal with a homemade Tres Leches cake. The nachos with chicken are a flavor bomb with authentic South American profiles that feel very familiar. The chicken tacos are by far my personal favorite. Do I need to suggest how amazing the empanadas are? Try them all. The location has nearby parking, Abuela's Kitchen is on DoorDash, and they have a great adult beverage menu that is DORA approved. Inside, there is a good selection of seating for all-sized parties. Food is cooked to order, so there is a slightly longer wait time than you'd have at a fast-casual restaurant.

WONDERFUL option right in the HEART of downtown Urbana. Quite the love story/labor of love here,…read moreand you can just feel and TASTE the love this couple puts into every dish (and drink) they offer!! I wasn't hungry enough for a whole dinner, but wanted to try some of their tempting apps., and as I debated which to try, the owner helpfully recommended a sampler plate, which was a PERFECT choice!! Chicharron, plantains, fried yuca, tequenos, a mini arepa, and more... As much as I wanted to go "light," this was SUPER filling (no complaints!!) and gave me a great opportunity to try some of their "greatest hits" at a reasonable, belly-filling price. Plenty of drink options at the bar, which I'll be sure try next time (BEFORE/instead of imbibing at the nearby brewery!!) along with some of their tempting entree choices. Come hungry, leave FELIZ!! Awesome decor, great food, friendly people. Que mas necesitan?!? ENJOY... Buen provecho!!

What a fantastic foodie experience! This place is excellent and I immediately added it to my Best…read moreof the Best list. The ambiance is laid-back urban sophistication and a stong Spanish flavor. Such a feel-good setting, and I felt like I was back in New York for a bit. Especially with my first impression that it was a very tiny cozy place, 10 or so bar seats, two 2-tops and an SRO window counter. But I later learned of the much bigger dining room that was not in use when we visited on Sunday afternoon. Additionally there is covered outdoor seating (not an option at present with all these rainstorms). Our server was such a gentleman, so helpful, prompt, kind, engaging and attentive. I'm sorry I didn't get his name but I hope we'll see him again on a future Sunday. The food is just off the charts, unique, lovingly prepared, high quality, incredible flavor combinations, nicely presented, and so delicious. My husband and I shared Curry Chicken Sliders (perfect level of warming curry, soft bun plus crispy fresh greens), Brussel Sprouts (tender crisp, lightly glazed perfection; there is a choice of glazes, might try the honey next time), Meatballs (light in texture, hearty in seasoning, in a wonderful sauce), and the amazing bacon-wrapped dates which are indescribable. Just. Get. Them. We loved all four dishes and I'd be hard pressed to pick a favorite. Food arrived at a good pace. Lots of wines from the Iberian peninsula, three craft beers on tap and a full bar. They also sell bottles of wine. The parking lot here is also pretty pequeño but there are some spots on the side street. We find ourselves in Urbana on the occasional Sunday and next time we do, believe me there will be another visit to Pequeños. ¡Gracias!

I've been a regular since they opened a couple of years ago and these are 2 of my favorite dishes! The octopus and Shrimp skewer is my go to along with the goat cheese stuffed piquillo peppers! A little heat from the harissa goat cheese filling is perfect with some crusty bread! The sausage sampler also goes well with the peppers!...this is a very chill atmosphere so if you're in a rush try it another time! They have limited cooking space so dishes can take time depending on how busy it is! Luis and Sam are very attentive and aim to please along with Zeke and Gaetanno is the kitchen! Great addition to the downtown Urbana square!

Walked in expecting a meat cathedral or a place where steaks whisper "buy me." What I found: cozy wood-fire vibes, a very friendly (non-biting) bear, and enough bourbon options to make an old man consider rewriting his will. The fireplace smelled like nostalgic childhood and good decisions--10/10 for ambiance and for making my sweatshirt and joggers feel almost fancy. #KindaUnderDressed #WelcomedAnyway Service Taylor is the reason civilization endures. Smiling, attentive, and kept my drink full even when I'm notoriously bad at hydration. If you know this bald guy, you understand how important my hydration is. #RefillPlease Food I ordered the French Dip: shaved prime rib, caramelized onion, provolone on a rustic roll that should have its own fan club, plus a cup of au jus that practically deserves a hug. Fries instead of the famous house BBQ chips because I'm a rebel who pays extra for potatoes. Fries were excellent., but who charges extra for fries? The audacity. Sweet tea was dangerously on point. Menu Notes From steakhouse splurges ($25-$45) to bar sandwiches and a 30-tap beer situation that reads like a sommelier's fever dream, there's something to fit every budget and ego. Apps include deviled eggs with ambition and pork belly that knows what it's doing. Desserts are fancy enough to make you consider wearing socks with sandals. Vibe and Price Felt classier than my usual sweatshirt-and-wind-joggers combo, though several patrons were clearly auditioning for "dinner with a trust fund." It's a little pricey, which is trending everywhere these days -- so I blame inflation and the 1845 potato famine. Also -- again -- fries cost extra. Someone explain this economy to me. Who should go Date night, impress-your-in-laws, or take your friend who brags about beer knowledge. Say "ask for Taylor" and thank me later. Final Score 3 out of 5 Bald Head Emojis: ‍‍‍ Minus one for price. Minus one for charging extra for fries. #CheapOldMan Would I go back? Yep. Had a great time catching up on the Madison County Gossip, excellent sandwich, great server, and atmosphere that makes even a bald guy feel a little fancier. #followforsnark Recommend to anyone who wants good food and a cozy, slightly upscale small-town vibe. #ShopLocal Walked in expecting a meat cathedral or a place where steaks whisper "Buy me."
