I have been part of the Blue J Health & Wellness community for over 8 months now, and I can't…read morerecommend their services enough!
Last year, I injured my knee (again...have had 4 surgeries), and to another avoid surgery the doctor recommended that I worked on strengthening the muscles around the knee. Honestly, I don't like going to the gym, I like competing, and playing sports; and honestly, I didn't even know where to start in putting together a routine that would address my specific issue, and also help me get stronger.
So, I reached out to Janet, who I had met a few months earlier, and in no time, she put together a training plan for me! Janet became my personal coach instantly. She helped me get stronger, and more importantly regain the confidence in my knee. Janet truly cared about my goals, and knew how important it was for me to recover to get back to practicing the sports I love; which was a broader and more important goal than just getting stronger.
During the shelter in place, I was concerned about not having equipment to continue my training plans, or the accountability that having a personal trainer provides (it had taken me a bit a to develop the discipline to follow the training plan). The Blue J team quickly designed a series of virtual trainings, created a community of coaches, and online support that has made the transition very seamless, and has helped my mental health as well! As for the accountability part, the community has made a world of difference! If we want, we can share how we did on the workouts (or not), we have a fun channel where we can all connect on topics beyond exercising. Also, I am always impressed by how coach Cheryl is always on the look and providing advice to team members, who have a specific issue, and may not know that a specific move needs to be modified to accommodate them. I am amazed at how she addresses the questions before you even ask them!
I highly recommend Blue J for anyone looking to have fun, stay healthy (in ways that matter to you!) and participate in the community. Also, to have coaches that really care about you and your specific goals.
