I requested their summer rates. If there's some reason they can't provide a straightforward answer,…read morethey should at least say so; but no, nothing.

Lovely accommodations in a good, quiet location. Self check in was a breeze. However, we never…read moreever saw or met the owner; in fact, we only met the cook in the morning, who was sweet and prepared a nice meal for us. Based on the gushing reviews here, on trip advisor, and the lonely planet book, however, we were expecting a more gourmet and inventive breakfast. We got eggs, sausage, potatoes, fruit. Tell me again why that's such a noteworthy menu? It stays light in Alaska till late in summer, and we were in need of some additional window coverings to block out the light where the blinds gapped in many places, plus a fan bc it was a warm evening. When we realized this, we felt it was too late to text the owner, and since we saw not a soul on the property that day, we had no idea where to go to ask. We slept badly all night bc we were too warm (the one night in Alaska when it's was warm, I guess!) We paid 200.00 for one night and we were not at all impressed or satisfied. There are many places to stay in Anchorage that cost less or more than this; with such a selection, 11th Ave. B&B did not deliver the expected level of service we had anticipated for the price.

A cute B&B with a few rooms downstairs, the kitchen, sitting area and one bedroom plus the "Alaska…read moresuite" upstairs. There's a sign on the swinging door meant to notify guests that its the door to the Alaska Suite (I don't know if that actually deters anyone from using the bathroom that's right past the swinging doors). The kids bedroom and the master bedroom are on either side, both with combo locks. Not sure how "secure" this setup is, especially for ones that truly have little ones staying in that room. The beds were so soft and squeaky, none of us got a good nights rest. They did a good job with the decor in all the common areas, bedrooms and bathroom. The two dilapidated RVs in the back of the property were quite the eyesore though. 100% contactless check in and out. I received a code via email 15 minutes before check in at 3pm and instructions later on how to check out. My parents were stoked to find the help yourself well stocked fridge and pantry items for breakfast. They cooked themselves some soft boiled eggs in the early AM and were happy campers.

I felt unsafe and I'm pretty sure there are some health and fire safety violations.I took pictures and sent them to Expedia to no avail. The bed was squeaky, there were stains on the carpet and it was stinky. The refrigerator was full of rotten things. It was a basement room and the toilet was on a weird pedestal The owner was the nastiest business person I've ever talked to. Actually she sent me nasty texts after I called Expedia. DO NOT STAY HERE!

We stayed at 8 different bed and breakfast places during our trip touring Alaska and they were the best hosts! There is an understandable reason that Alaska House of Jade is #1 on Trip Advisor. The booking process was a breeze as it was facilitated by our travel agent Juxia from Homer. We stayed in two different rooms during our stay and both were great. Private bathrooms were a wonderful thing to have as not all B&B's have that and you have the daily morning fight for the bathroom. It is hard to get a feel of a B&B just from the pictures and reviews but after spending some time here I can highly recommend staying with Krista and Zack. They are perfect hosts and a wealth of information for your trip to Alaska. As this is yelp I will also mention the delicious food we had as well. On the first night we checked in late because our flight didn't arrive until past midnight but Krista had cookies out for us on the kitchen counter. Breakfast the first morning was sourdough pancakes, fresh fruit, yogurt, homemade granola, bacon, and delicious eggs! The second morning we got delicious homemade cinnamon buns with eggs and sausage. Overall the best breakfasts and hosts from our trip to Alaska. Pro tip: book early as they fill up quick
