Very well decorated, CLEAN, and comfortable! Breakfast was so good and even better coffee! We stayed three night at their rental property, The Sunflower. Again the standards are set high for any bed and breakfast after visiting here! Comfortable bed, great sheets, soft towels and enough pots and pans to make a good dinner or lunch if you want to cook. Rates were very reasonable and the customer service was next level. Do yourself a favor and call them! Larry is a wonderful man to speak with.

We had a very comfortable stay in each of the rooms. The common area is clean and nice, with plenty of room to sit for breakfast. The breakfast setup was phenomenal! Great food and coffee. Monica is a great cook. Also in the common area: books, games, puzzles, and mini refrigerators with bottled water and soda. Very easy to find and within walking distance of the downtown area. Monica was very welcoming, accommodating, and kind. Very communicative even before we arrived. She is a great host! She even let us borrow her Milepost book when we drove up to Fairbanks, it was a great read along the way. I highly recommend this establishment, a hidden gem in Anchorage.

I chose to stay at a BnB instead of a hotel for recovery; mostly because of an intimate setting instead of a busy hotel. They had hosted others for surgery and knew a lot about the schedules, the recovery of others and calmed a fear or two. The breakfasts were over the top with fruit, cereal and hot breakfasts. There was always tea and coffee available. They were helpful, provided a few rides to the surgery center, played cards with me, and had great conversations! Thank you Jim and April! I always imagined B&B's to be kinda awkward and weird staying with strangers in a home. But all my assumptions were completely wrong. This place was amazing!! The home is sooo beautiful and spacious. They have 3 bedrooms downstairs with a large den area with a tv and lots of dvds. There is also a hot tub outside on the deck as well. A door is located downstairs so it makes it convenient for you to go in and out as you please. Each bedroom has a bathroom inside so you don't have to worry about sharing the bathroom with strangers. The rooms are very spacious and you really feel at home. They have complementary soaps, lotions, toothpaste and everything like a hotel. For breakfast, they print out a customized menu with your names on top. Such a nice touch! I loved it. Breakfast comes with coffee/tea and juices, fruit plate and a choice of a breakfast entree. They cook it as you order it. The owners were very friendly and made it a very comfortable stay. I would totally recommend this B&B to anymore. Differently a great experience!

This property…read morewas built specifically to function as a B&B, and it's clear that Michelle and Ron put a great deal of thought into building their home as a warm, inviting, and very functional space. We arrived a little late the first night, and were greeted by Michelle, who gave us a quick tour, taking us through the dining room on the main level, downstairs to the common sitting room from which the three guest rooms are accessed. As one example of a smart design, guests access the sitting room by way of a separate downstairs entrance, with plenty of spots for wet shoes and jackets in the entryway. (Shoes off while in the B&B!) We stayed in the Creekside Suite, which provided ample and comfortable space for us and our two adult children. Michelle made us feel welcome and right at home. As did the delicious cookies she left for us! The room was great. If we had to make any suggestion, it would be to provide some sort of movable privacy screen in the bathroom. Not needed for a couple, but would be helpful when traveling as a family. Breakfasts were fantastic, with a daily custom menu with many tempting alternatives from which to choose. We thoroughly enjoyed everything we had. Michelle and Ron are fabulous hosts. They are friendly and hospitable, great conversationalists, and helped us with great tips to enjoy our stay in the area. We didn't get to spend a lot of time with Bailey the dog (apparently, he's not allowed to join the guests for breakfast!), but he was out when we went up to say goodbye on our last day. He's a big, lovable teddy bear of a dog. Be careful once you start petting him--he may not let you stop! :) The Girdwood area is beautiful. We enjoyed some hiking (Winner's Creek and Virgin Creek Falls) while we were in the area, in between our other planned activities: a dog sled ride on Punchbowl Glacier, and the 26 Glacier boat tour out of Whittier. House of Jade works with NOLS with transport and providing the best accomadations to get your ready for your expedition. There are rooms set for NOLS students and rooms set for couples. The house remains quiet through out the day and night. Even when people are walking around, I could not hear them from my room. In the morning fresh coffee is brewed and tingles your senses. Great way to get you moving! Breakfast is always something speciel. Homemade granola with yogurt. Fresh fruit. Juice. Teas. The cooked prepared breakfast was so yummy! The last morning I stayed they had reindeer sausage and flap jacks. I could not put my fork and knife down, it was so good! Even during the day they have cookies out for the guests. On the side of the house outside there's a little fireplace. The back deck is nice to sit in the morning with your first cup of coffee. The folks are just as friendly!! During our stay the innkeepers were Greg and Linda, they are a super friendly couple and the breakfasts they cooked were absolutely delicious!! The morning starts off with yogurt, fresh fruit and homemade granola. Then next comes something hot and delicious from the kitchen. We got extremely spoiled and the rest of our vacation was spent comparing our meals to the ones at House of Jade. (Nothing came close by the way.) Greg and Linda made us feel so welcome and comfortable. Also ,one of the nights Zach( the owner) was there and he heated up our leftover pizza in the oven, and while we waited he gave us some great tips for our next stop in Fairbanks.
