Well, there's a spanking brand new one in Torrington, and we visited them on their Grand Opening yesterday. The joint was jumping with two food trucks, 150 smiling vendors, raffle contests, and a parking lot that resembled Rentschler Field on game day. As their website states, "Market Street Creatives is a small business community where business owners can help one another, share ideas, and develop relationships that support the community". Simply put, the space is beautiful, I mean really gorgeous. And the vendors pretty much represent every home entrepreneur out there- from art, children's clothing and accessories, books, kitchenware, jewelry, food, candles, collectibles, sewing and embroidery, food, furniture, gifts, greeting cards, health and beauty aids, home décor, leather, linen, towels, office stuff, pottery, stained glass and dozens more. The Market is inside a huge multi-story brick building with art galleries on the walls between building sections. That brick building has a glorious history going back to the 1840's where companies under a series of names manufactured upholstery hardware, hooks and eyes, pins, nails, chains, handles, and even automated posting machines. In the early 2000's, the largest producer of weldless chain products in North America was right there in Torrington. That tenant (Perfection Chain) skedaddled to Alabama in 2013, when the building lay dormant until its 2025 resurrection as Market Street Creatives.

Nice size biscotti went well with their tea. I had the blueberry muffin also. My friend and I had two cups of tea that were great! Staff is super nice and we could have spent more than 2 hrs in there just relaxing and catching up. I look forward to going back there. Cute, whimsical and quaint. There were so many one of a kind merchandise made and sold by their local artisans. Some items were priced a little higher, and some items were reasonably priced. The girl at the front desk when you enter was very personable and greeted us with a smile. She was very informative about the different merchandise being sold. And we even talked about some nearby restaurants that she would or would not recommend.. Overall, I think it would be worth to visit if you're in the local area. I would definitely stop by again if I was in the area.They also host a variety of crafts and games. They also have small café, bar restaurant attached. I had a spiked coffee and it was delicious.

They have everything from drinks to frozen food to a variety of snacks. They also offer a variety of rice and items to cook with. The owner is so sweet. She answered all the questions I had about the snacks. In the small world we live in I also found out that our older boys just graduated high school together! So funny! The market isn't too big, it's two aisles and some coolers, but they fit a lot of variety in there. It's Hispanic focused and lots of food you're not going to find in Stop & Shop. It's fun to just poke around and try something new! The prices are reasonable although not always marked. You can definitely make a whole dinner, or even a dinner party with the selection. There is also cheese, and fresh fruits and vegetables. The cashier let me wander and take it all in, and was very friendly. I only wish they had more spices, but that's minor in the overall picture.

I love the way that so many old cities have reclaimed old mill buildings and gave them new life using this model. The store is so organized and clean, and pretty quirky. The owner Carly is very sweet, chatty and helpful. The items are pretty expensive. I got some whole wheat crackers coated in dark chocolate for $5.00. These are very good, a nice light snack. I also got Christmas pudding off the clearance table, I thought would be tops $3.00, it was $7.00. It's the size of a tiny can of cat food. It had to be microwaved. It wasn't very good. Dispite that, this store is adorable. If you ever travel to the UK, and forget to get a gift for someone, this store is a great safety net. The owner was a pleasure to chat with.
