We love this little Ice cream shop!! I have had the ice cream a few times, and it is delicious. Creamy, refreshing, and in generous portions with interesting flavors. We sampled the pizza on this trip, and it was SO GOOD. The style is a little unusual. It has a very thin crust that gets quite crisp, and all of the pizzas are single serving. This is untested, but it seems like you get as many toppings as you want without further charges. My husband had the standard pepperoni, and he loved it. I'm a lover of chicken wings, so I was excited to order the Buffalo chicken pizza, and it really hit the spot. Pretty spicy but not too overwhelming, cheesy, indulgent, and flavorful. I also really enjoyed looking around the artisan gift shop that is attached to this location. I found several Christmas gifts for family while waiting for my pizza. A great stop in downtown French Lick! It's right next door to the French Lick Museum and attached to the Bear Hollow Wood Carvers. In fact, Bear Hollow is the same owner so you'll see some great woodwork going on in French Licks too! Their tables and booths are handcrafted and they have some fun wood statues like Larry Bird and Groot. Unfortunately, we didn't get to try the ice cream, but it was recommended to use by several people at the French Lick Resort. This place incorporated various wood carvings into the decor of the store. They have some rather unique flavors like maple bacon Ice cream. I stopped in here on a flight from Tennessee to get a quick bite to eat! When I came in I was the only one there and I got exclusive service. She was very quick to help me and got to making my food immediately. I got their bread sticks and their Bosco stix. Wow. BEST BREAD STICKS IVE EVER HAD! With the not so bread sticks you get a side of nacho cheese sauce. That mixed with the buttery garlic drizzle in the bread sticks was a perfect pairing. The Bosco stix are bread sticks with cheese inside of them and those were even better. Coming with marinara sauce, I found myself lost in the sauce for these. The town of French lick as a whole I found to be a very weird little town but I loved it! Inside the restaurant was filled with cool decor and Larry bird memorabilia. On the south side of French Lick, there's a convenient shopping block with a variety of places to try out. One of the shops sells ice cream and beverages with a clever name of French Licks. During warmer months, there is outdoor seating available. Otherwise, there are some communal tables along a wall across from the order counter. Seems like a smart move to offer coffee/beverages for those who are in the area during morning hours or in cooler seasons. Since it was a beautiful June day, my wife and I decided to each get a scoop of ice cream. She went with a blackberry cobbler flavor while I selected a PB&J ice cream. The portions run a bit smaller than I'm used to, but the price was lower as well, so if you are really hungry for ice cream, I recommend getting a couple scoops. The PB&J was delicious and creamy, yet it was thick enough to take a little while to melt in my mouth. It made it seem more satisfying to slow down. Note: The spoons turn colors when exposed to cold! My wife thought the cobbler portion of the scoop was really good, but thought the ice cream itself was less flavorful than expected. So, my rating splits the difference of our scores. Cute little local ice cream parlor in French Lick. Stopped in while visiting French Lick. One scoop starts at around $3 then $1 per scoop. They also offer coffee, sodas and milkshakes. They have a small patio that seems like it would be great in the summer unfortunately it wasn't nice out enough to enjoy while I was there. Staff was really nice! My wife and I had individual pizzas here the second day of our vacation and liked it so much we came back three days days later. There is very interesting wood carvings around the restaurant and a few table games to play as well. There is also a video of Larry Bird playing on the tv (seems like most places here love to promote him). The pizza is a very thin crust so if you want thick crust go elsewhere. Thee are a few different sauces you can chose from to build your pizza upon. There was a wide variety of toppings to chose from. I loaded mine with meats - my wife, mainly vegetables. They toppings all tasted fresh and were plentiful. The young lady behind the counter was super friendly and had our pizza out to us in no time. She was a good conversationalist and it was exchanging banter with her. The only negative thing is that the place was a little cold each time we were there so we ate outside on the deck. Luckily the weather was perfect - 75 and no humidity so it worked out perfectly. We did not get the ice cream but quite a few people had it while we were there and all said it was delicious. They had ample parking and the gift shop was the best one in town that I found. I definitely recommend. read more
