I talked to multiple contractors - some who just didn't call back, a few who said they couldn't (wouldn't) build the fence I wanted, and frankly, a few that I just didn't like. Gerardo showed up, chatted with me about what I wanted, took measurements, and gave me a bid on the spot. I was moving into a house I was rehabbing and needed a portion of this fence done right away because I have a dog and he hustled to not only build the new portion I needed, but went out of his way to do some repairs on the existing fence to keep my dog safe and secure. He and the people working for him showed a lot of attention to detail, checked in with me often about the project to make sure it was coming along and looking as I expected, and every day at the end of the day the work site was clean and organized. I'm planning some plant installations and a new deck and Gerard's Landscaping is going to be my first call!

They asked me technical questions on the grade for my backyard and the kind of material i need for the steps, which i had no clue about. So I told them that i would need guidance. They sent me a very lengthy message. Whoever was responding, was in the field and took time out to respond and didnt like that I had not done my due diligence. They told me that the market has changed and they need their customers to do some research. Then they gave me an arbutrary deadline to join a COMPLIMENTARY 10min call. The number of red flags in 1 message exchange. First of all, if you are in the field don't respond to the message or hire someone who can do it without getting upset that their customer do not know what they need.

We got estimates from over half a dozen contractors and L & S was not only very competitive, but could start sooner than everyone else. We ended up doing a half paver patio, half artificial turf for the back yard which included some retaining wall work. They also installed a gravel path to the back yard with paver stepping stones. The work was done in 5 days and his team was very courteous and friendly (especially to my 4 year old daughter who would wave from the window). As with most projects, issues arose, but Santiago was very transparent with them and provided solutions to get the job done right. L & S did such a good job that the neighborhood is considering them for future work and regular yard maintenance.

We have never reached out to this business or provided them with our contact information, yet they have been contacting my partner daily to push services. Despite making it clear that we are not interested, the invasive disruptions do not stop. This behavior is predatory and incredibly unprofessional.

Rescheduled, but did not show up to the new date, nor respond to my email asking for clarification. Just left me hanging. He clearly decided he did not want to do my irrigation project, but instead of communicating, he strung me along and made promises he never intended to keep. To completely ghost me and not even respond after agreeing to do the project is some of the most unprofessional behavior I've ever encountered. If he doesn't want to do my project, fine. The initial work was great but it was a bit of a struggle to communicate with Renee due to extremely slow responses or completely neglecting to respond. They did such a good job initially even though the communication was bad I figured I would hire them for regular service. I found out later that tree, hedge, and garden bed maintenance was not part of the service and that was all additional. I paid them to do more work and again just completely fell short. Now the quality is also getting bad and they keep asking for more money even when some of their last projects here are not working (a gate). Also I have requested numerous times for the em to stop filling up my yard waste bin with their other clients yard waste. I work with designers every day in my career, and I know the value of having creative energy look at a project with a new perspective. I had them take the project on from start to finish and I could not be more pleased with results. The challenge of staying within my budget and transforming my outdoor living space was not easy, but the team really sculpted solutions for each unique area and kept the elements I wished to have exist in the new look as well as introduced new ideas and plantings that compliment our home and lot. We had a nightmare large strip of bamboo, along our driveway, and running on top of our underground utilities, which turned out to be buried less deep than legally required. After a year of chopping cables and only making headway on our bank account, not on controlling the bamboo, the other company suggested ripping it out. And then gave us basically a "no bid" and walked away. Calluna's came in, locked in a reasonable bid, outlined the work, reassured us constantly that they were looking forward to getting it done, showed up only a week later, spent only 3 days, carefully hand digging around utilities, then skillfully backhoeing, finally finishing up and cleaning up much better than we could have imagined. Even the neighbors are making positive comments. The driveway strip has never looked better. We have to let it lie fallow for a year while we chase down straggler rhizomes, but it already looks better than it has since we moved in many years ago. The Calluna's bid was very reasonable and they went above and beyond what they outlined in the bid, and were a pleasure to work with. Call them for a bid! You will not regret it!
