We had an incredible day at french broad adventure. We rafted in the morning and zip lined in the afternoon and both were incredible experiences. Our raft guide was AJ. He was incredibly experienced, and so much fun to be with. He truly made our trip one to remember. He navigated the boat with precision and skill instilling confidence and making us, as very inexperienced rafters feel safe. His fun and outgoing personality helped us to relax and enjoy the experience. We had my grandmother (85years old) in the raft and he watched over her and was so kind to her and she had the time of her life. Thank you AJ, you made our experience one that we will never forget. Our zipline guides we're Mars, Sam and Tomai (sorry spelling?). They were so much fun! They explained the mechanism and safety features thoroughly to make us confident in the safety Of the lines. They laughed and joked and calmed nerves of those nervous. Two of our group members got nervous on one of the lines and they calmly and skillfully got them back to the ground safely. We would absolutely recommend french broad adventures. read more

This group is the best, don't bother shopping around. Seriously. Lisa was kind, helpful, and clear, setting the tone when we walked in. Richard was hilarious with an ungodly amount of awesomely-bad dad jokes queued up. He made safety fun, ensured we knew all we needed to know, and made the bus ride a hoot. You get a tour guide, rafting instructor, and comedian all in one. Timmy was our raft guide and he kept us laughing and confident. The river was low, but we had a blast! He was knowledgeable about the history of the river, homes, and town. And he's got lots of stories to tell! The trip included a snack stop, they have splash guard jackets and pants, and I just can't sing their praises enough. You will have a great trip and want to go out again immediately. The day we went, all the guides had more than 15 year's experience each. Just a great company. Can't wait to come back and do it again when the water is higher, and try some canyoneering! read more

It was my girlfriend's first time white water rafting and we could not have asked for a better company to take us. Our river guide, Auggie, was hilarious and easygoing, encouraging our inexperienced group (I was the only guest onboard who'd been rafting before) to enjoy the rapids and even take some risks. We went on the five-mile trip with lunch and the food they provided was fresh and delicious. They even ask when you book about dietary restrictions and are willing to accommodate. The French Broad River itself is an excellent beginner's river for those who have always wanted to try white water rafting. Once we'd finished the five mile trip we realized just how short it was, and promised ourselves we'd take the nine mile jaunt next time we were in Ashevillle. This is a fantastic company to book a white water rafting trip with, and I highly recommend both them and our guide Auggie in particular. read more

My husband, adult son and I had an awesome time doing a half day white water rafting trip! Guides were professional, experienced, and fun. This outfit is well organized with clean restrooms and changing area. They even have a nice deck with picnic tables where we were able to eat a picnic lunch that we had carried. Jim was an excellent guide. As a local, he entertained us with stories and interesting history of the area. We were lucky enough to hit the river when it was high which gave us some fantastic Class III & IV rapids. We'll be back for a full day trip next time! read more

This was such a great experience for my husband and I, celebrating our one anniversary on an adventurous day. The French Broad Adventure was so amazing the personality that came with the experience made it so memorable! On the zip line experience John Henry and Ellie was a great duo for guides the sense of humor and excitevent they brought with the experience was amazing! My husband Travis and I are so glad we celebrated our one year with French Broad adventure! we highly recommend this place for anyone visiting it's worth every penny! read more

Thoroughly enjoyed our rafting trip 7/1/21. Our guide (John Henry) was professional, safety-minded, experienced and quite entertaining! This was only my 2nd whitewater trip, the first being 40 years ago. Very highly recommended! Everyone there was very professional, very helpful, and very friendly. Do NOT assume that this is only for young athletes; if they can get me safely through the adventure, they can get almost anyone through. Even though it's an "adventure", they consistently practice a safety culture. read more

Our family had a blast with our tour guide, Cory while rafting down the French Broad River. It was peaceful at times and then exciting going through the rapids. Cory gave great instructions and kept the trip fun and safe. Cory was informative in regards to the river and the surrounding area. He was polite, professional and personable. He also shared lots of silly jokes and riddles. It was a fun adventure for our family. I would highly recommend signing up for a trip with family or friends. read more

Took the family on our first white water rafting adventure. The guides were great - super funny and made the trip exciting for all. We were a little apprehensive since we've never rafted before and our kids are 11 and 12. The guides made us all feel at ease and in safe hands. We opted for the ride with lunch - which was totally worth the fee dollars extra. We had burgers and hot dogs. Katie was our guide and she was fabulous. Would definitely do it again and recommend to all. read more

So this was our 4th rafting trip with French Broad Adventures and I'm looking forward to our 5th! These folks are super friendly and so is the river...well, mostly! Plan to get wet if you're not on their "calm" trip but the water is nice and not cold at all. Our guide, Pete, was terrific, friendly, and very informative. We'd give Frenxh Broad Adventures 10 stars if we could. So, Keep Calm and French Broad River Adventures On! Terry & Sharon Porch, Florida. read more

We've rafted bigger water but had folks with us for whom this was their first trip down a river. Good 2s and a few 3s. Had a great guide in Evan who was technically spot on. He knew his history of the area, and the river. We even ferried across once. It was about a 3 hour trip with a couple of stops (one was all we really needed). The ubiquitous photographer needed a longer lens on his camera - photos were a little small. All total- a great trip! read more

My husband, two boys(11 and 14) and I just went rafting today and we had a blast. It was so pretty and the rapids were a lot of fun! Our guide Richard was amazing and made us feel so at ease. We had never rafted before and I was a little nervous but all the guides were very professional and experienced. The business itself was really clean and seemed to be run very well. If your considering rafting,do it, it is soooo worth it! read more

5 Mile Trip - We had a great time! The staff was friendly, the views were amazing and the trip was a ton of fun. Our guide, Mel, was super friendly and very knowledgeable. She gave us tidbits of history and suggestions of where to visit in the area. I would highly recommend this to anyone considering rafting. I was a first timer and my boyfriend had been only once before. Both of us thoroughly enjoyed this adventure. read more

Our tour guide AJ was amazing as well as the owner Jim! Very informative and personable! It was our 1st time white water rafting and we loved it so much that we requested to extend our tour to the longer one! The guides made the trip really nice with historical info on the calm parts and preparation for the rough parts. Thank you so much AJ and Jim for your accommodations and for making it such a memorable experience! read more

I was very nervous about this 5 mile trip, but it couldn't have been better. What you learn quickly is that the raft handles the rapids really well and it's not as intense as it may look. The guides and staff overall were so amazing and organized! They were so educated and made us feel super comfortable. Richard was amazing!!! They do have jackets and wet suits for use if you don't like the cold water, like me! read more

Cayler and Lindsey were our trip guides and I couldn't say enough good things about them. Cayler is fully equipped with every "dad joke" in the book, which is actually hilarious but, he's also very experienced and knows his sh*t. Lindsey is a straight shooter, which you appreciate when you're on the river. The whole experience was great and I'm looking forward to coming back to do it again, thank you both! read more

We had an amazing time rafting on Wednesday, June 4th! Our guide, Sarah, was absolutely outstanding--professional, friendly, and incredibly reassuring throughout the trip. She made us feel completely safe while also keeping the experience fun and memorable. We can't recommend French Broad Adventures enough, and if you get the chance to raft with Sarah, you're in for a fantastic experience! read more

This was our first zip line experience (in celebration of my husband's 60th birthday) and we were a bit nervous at the beginning. Ally and JR were fantastic- very professional and cautious- while keeping things light and fun. The course was beautiful- just challenging enough without being overwhelming. Loved the repelling, too! We will definitely be back next year! read more

I took my 9 year old white water rafting for the first time this past weekend. The river was running high and fast, and he was a little scared. Richard was our "River Master" and was AWESOME! My son ha the best time and is requesting to go back already. If we didn't live in FL, I'd be taking him back this next weekend as he slept great that evening! Thanks for the fun! read more

We had a perfect day rafting on the French Broad river. We did the 5 mile trip with a lunch break. This was perfect for beginners as the rapids are exciting but safe and the trip wasn't too long. The lunch was great, we cooked hot dogs and hamburgers on the banks of the river, and it was a great half-way stop. We definitely recommend it for people of all ages. read more
