I had a terrific day. The guide provided a full day of information about geology, geography, history and local lore, while safely guiding us down the river. The company is very serious about proper gear and safety, and even first time rafters should feel safe with these experienced guides. It's a beautiful river, we had a great lunch and a wonderful day. Low prices in the shop and great photos to take home at a reasonable price. The staff members- from start to finish, were terrific. I'll be back!

This place was amazing! They were all such nice people and very hospitable. The tour was fantastic and the price for everything you really can't beat. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and you can tell they all love what they do! Definitely recommend

    Jordan for the win!

My girl gang thoroughly enjoyed our day trip on the river. Our guide Jordan was very knowledgeable, clearly experienced, and definitely easy on the eyes! He was also easy going, was tolerant of our colorful language and rolled with all of our inappropriate jokes. If I had any complaints at all it would be that the water was just too wet and Jordan, while friendly and accommodating, did not accept any of our advances and declined to come home with us. Other than that, I'd rate this an A+ time!

Great float! Took my 8 year old son and his two cousins - we had a perfect afternoon! Wags was our guide and he was great with the boys and on all of the rapids. Doing this again soon for the full day.

    Hitting rapids!

If you're going rafting choose them. They take care of all the details. Restrooms are immaculately clean. They care about your safety. We had Jordan as our guide and couldn't have had a better time. They even gave 2 birthday people mini cupcakes!!

Worth every penny! We did the full day 9 mile route as a group of 6. Our guide was excellent and very knowledgeable of the area. Highly recommend for those looking to spend a fun-filled day on the water.

What is maximum number in a raft?

Typically 6 plus a guide. Occasionally 7 if it's all one group. Depends a bit on water level.

It was neat driving through Marshal, a cute industrious baby town right on the river with a cool rusted bridge.

We had so much fun ebiking in Banff last summer that i thought it would be fun to do in Asheville…read moretoo. I booked the easy ebike ride which was a 12 mile bike ride into Tennessee. We had a 2pm start (1:30pm arrival) and were the only people registered so private ebike tour for us. TJ was our guide and he was training someone so we ended up with 2 guides, which was great. Both of them were very knowledgable about Asheville, nature (i learned what poison ivy looks like) and biking. It took me a few minutes to get my ebike bearings, but then were off. The first part of the ride was on gravel, which was a little tricky, but it was all good when we hit the road. It also started raining and we got pretty wet...i couldn't decide if the rain made the ride miserable or more fun. Maybe both! The biking itself wasn't too hard and honestly we probably could have done it on regular bikes and gotten a workout, but i do find ebiking super fun. We stopped a few times, which helped with our sore butts and learned about the area. A few hours later we said goodbye to our new friends and headed back to Asheville (about an hour away). They also offer many other activities like white water rafting so recommended if you're looking for a little adventure.

This is my favorite Buncombe County River Park. Even though there are no restroom facilities here,…read morethe beauty and serenity of the location more than make up for it. In addition to the various natural dams and rocks in the River, someone has created a little kiddie pool to keep the little ones from floating downstream to Marshall. The river splits with part of it going down a channel to the right, forming walnut island. That little section of the river is just absolutely gorgeous, and the county maintains an easily traversed path the Full length of the island. It could be the perfect location for a small informal wedding, with the bride coming down the path from around the bend, a natural canopy complete with beautiful gurgling sounds of the river flowing over the rocks. The park is equipped with barbecue grills and picnic tables, although the tables look pretty uncomfortable. I suggest bringing your own canvas or folding chairs & blanket if you're going to be here for a while. There is plenty of gorgeous grass, and the park seems to be pretty well maintained. This morning, I saw two people fly fishing, in their waders, as well as a couple more people fishing from a small boat on the river. Really, an idyllic scene. No one else was in the park for the entire 30 minutes we were there, so if you want a little privacy and a gorgeous spot, Walnut Island River Park is the place to go. At least until it gets discovered by the masses.

Even though we got there super early, because of the holiday, there was a HUGE line getting into Devils Fork Park with the park rangers checking in with every vehicle - the rangers were turning away everyone without a parking reservation. I called Eclectic Sun and the nice lady on the phone said to show them our kayak reservation confirmation and that she would have a parking spot saved for us. Because we were in line for 1+ hours, we didn't get in until way after our reservation time but everyone was super nice and adjusted the time for us. The guys at the life jacket rental and down by the water helping people get in and out of their kayaks were also all very nice. All kayaks they had seemed to be in great shape, we had no problem using ours. Once you're out in the water, you can just dock it at any beach area you find around the lake (even though it was a busy day at the lake, there are so many beaches, you can easily find an empty one). We will definitely come back and rent one out again!
