Upon my arrival I was immediately discouraged as the graffiti markings of the neighborhood became inherently apparent. That of course is the intent of said graffiti so with that said I had the option to leave immediately but decided to stay. I told myself stay on your mark and let the kids have fun. The pools are amazing and the facilities are extremely nice. They have a very cool pool and whole bunch of things that make it more like a water park. They have a really shallow area with the sprinkler-esque thingys that still allow you to get wet. It's also a dollar for kids to get in and 3.50 for adults. Aside from that we happened to show up at 6 at which time they have free entry. Overall it seems like fools gold based off of the other reviews and potential for danger. My experience wasn't that but I will say for the last hour the police just parked in the park and made their presence known. For me personally it's good and bad but that's my own experience with this neighborhood and LAPD.

I've been to Eleanor Pool several times, and unfortunately, my experiences have been consistently…read moredisappointing. - On one occasion I drove all the way there only to discover the pool was closed due to "low staffing" with no prior communication. - Another time, after checking in, I was told the pool was "too busy" and asked to come back later. That is not how a public pool should operate. - Staff do not enforce or educate swimmers on basic lap-swimming etiquette (sharing lanes, splitting or circle swimming). Many swimmers act territorial and refuse to share lanes, and no one corrects them. - The atmosphere is often unpleasant and at times unsafe. I was harassed by another swimmer with clear behavioral issues, and staff did nothing. - The facilities themselves are poorly maintained -- dirty, with visible cockroaches and no proper changing rooms. Since switching to LACES Pool, the difference has been night and day. The staff there are professional and respectful, the facilities are clean and well maintained, and there's a proper locker room for swimmers. Sadly, Eleanor Pool does not meet even the most basic standards I'd expect from a public pool. I won't be returning.
