What a great deal for $30 a year! Lakeside Cafe serves lunch for members $4, no tax and no tipping. Many classes are free, some have a small fee. There are workshops, and trips both locally and internationally. Located right beside Lake Elizabeth, it's a great way to get some exercise walking around the lake, then dropping in for lunch. On the second Wednesday, at 10:30 there is a free welcome Orientation for interested and new members. Best deal in Fremont for Seniors who want to make new friends and to get out of the house for a while every day.

We need more support if our elderly community. They always need a safe place to hang out, eat, excercise, learn about services in the area.

It's a good place for seniors to spend time. Had lunch, it was good. There are other useful activities. I might try that in future.

They make sure these seniors have recreation opportunities through events and daily programs such as technology classes, pickle ball, ping pong, pool, blood pressure checks, free phone checkouts, a book club, group movie events and much more. Beyond recreational opportunities, the senior center serves lunch to a large number of local seniors each and every day. The lunch is nutritious and caters strictly to the diet of older people. You would not believe the number of compliments I hear as people leave after lunch. The senior center also has 10 cent books to purchase. The staff works really hard to plan events such as dances, socials and an annual bazaar during the holidays with vendors from the community. The people who work at the Mountain View Senior Center go above and beyond on a daily basis and it shows! The Senior Center is available without membership costs, registration and is free for all people 55 and older.

However, this is a beautiful senior center that has been here for a decade filled with memories. My grandmother use to come here to pick up her free groceries in the 90s and I had decided to volunteer to give back to my community. Bridget and Ms. Grant are just the most amazing women you can ever meet that takes care of the place. They both work so hard into providing essential needs for the locals and those who need food. Ms. Grant is in her 80s and that women is a soldier! She puts her heart into the place and will have you amazed with her stories. When I first walked into the place, I felt such a positive vibe and energy. You can tell this place has a lot of history which is priceless. This place gives out to the community ALOT. So what if theres random people coming to park here and doing what they do. It's East Palo Alto, what do you expect, it is part of the culture. They don't mean any harm. -_-
