    Cathy's Coton Cuties - CC's Idris

    Cathy's Coton Cuties

I recently adopted (six weeks ago) an eight-week old puppy from Kaley's litter...Cathy was…read moreresponsive to emails and texts, and we had a lengthy phone conversation prior to her accepting my deposit. I brought home a little guy who was born right before Xmas 2025 and everyone, and I mean everyone, who has met him just thinks he's the cutest thing ever. Strangers, neighbors, people in stores, the vet and vet techs...everyone. He is mostly confident, he does startle sometimes with new loud sounds, but he stays put to see how I react. He does play hard w/ the 10 y/o corgi at my house, and also with my friend's two puppies, he really holds his own, but as puppies go, he's really calm (and I would say he was the most calm of his five siblings, based on the video I saw and Cathy's input). I would say they are as de-sensitized as they could be, after eight weeks (when we can adopt them). He is very sweet and very cute, and has been learning commands over the past few weeks (he is just coming up on 15 weeks old tomorrow). I hope to take him back to see Cathy and Mike the next time I get to PHX.

We are so fortunate to find Cathy as the breeder for our lovely Luna. We picked up our Luna when…read moreshe was 2 months old and she was grass pad trained and very comfortable in the playpen and sleeping in her own crate. The way they train the puppies early on really helped them to feel that crates are a safe space. We were amazed at how little training it took us when we first got Luna. Luna was also desensitized by all the different sounds and she was so calm and happy when she came home with us. Cathy and Mike guided us throughout our first few weeks by recommending Baxter & Bella to help us prepare for our puppy. Cathy is always available for questions and she constantly updates her breeder recommendation page to keep us updated. Cathy also allowed us to come to visit anytime for Luna to see her parents again and play with the other Cotons! We are really grateful for everything Cathy and Mike recommended and have helped us throughout this year. I can't wait to one day get another puppy from them when Luna is a little older.

I've known this breeder for over 23 years, and in that time I've consistently seen a level of…read morededication and integrity that is rare. Her commitment to the Maltese breed goes far beyond simply raising puppies - she is deeply invested in preserving and improving the breed through thoughtful, responsible breeding practices. She regularly shows her dogs, and many have earned placements, which speaks not only to the quality of her breeding program but also to the care, trianing and attention she gives each dog. Her knowledge of the breed is extensive, and she is always focused on health, temperament, and adherence to breed standards. What stands out most is how much she genuinely cares - about her dogs, about the families they go to, and about the long-term future of the breed. I would not hesitate to recommend her to anyone looking for well-bred Maltese from someone who truly does things the right way.

PLEASE BE AWARE: I am writing this on what should have been…read moremy beautiful baby Bamboo's 3rd birthday with unimaginable grief and pain, hoping no other family ever has to endure what I have been through. My experience with Kathryn Henzerling of Bella Dolce Maltese has been devastating and infuriating. If you are considering buying from this breeder, understand this clearly: the support and responsibility she talks about before you hand her the money may not exist once you actually need it! I reached out to Kathryn after losing my 1-year-old Maltese from a different breeder to GME, a cruel and devastating neurological disease. Kathryn insisted that this disease is extremely rare and is associated with unethical breeding. She assured me that if I purchased a puppy from her, should anything like that ever happen, she would stand behind her dogs regardless because that is what a responsible breeder does, regardless of their "1 year limited health guarantee." I put my trust in her and purchased a puppy from her. Tragically, at just 2 years old, my precious baby began showing severe neurological symptoms, the same nightmare all over again. Despite everything we did and thousands of dollars we spent to try and save her, she passed away. When I turned to Kathryn in my devastation, I was met with blame instead of compassion. She offered a $1000 "courtesy refund," unfortunately that promise was never honored, and she has deleted me from all social media platforms and has refused any further communication. I expected honesty, accountability, and compassion from someone claiming to be an "ethical breeder" as well as a "breeder of merit," instead I received empty promises and zero follow-through when it actually mattered! I would strongly caution anyone to think twice and be prepared for the possibility that the promises made upfront may be worthless when it counts the most. What is especially concerning is I have since become aware of other individuals who have reported serious health issues in dogs purchased from Kathryn and her breeding lines, including similar neurological conditions. Please visit GME Awareness & Neurological Conditions In Maltese on Facebook, as well as other pages designated to GME in this breed, as it is far more common than Maltese breeders are leading us to believe.
