We needed a repair made in our cabin, it was completed within the hour of notifying the proprietor. This truly is a special one of a kind place.

There's so much to love about Avalanche Ranch: 1) Views on views! The 3 hot springs are situated to make great use of the landscape and offer some epic views of Mount Sopris. I chose to stay in the hotter 2 pools during my visit, and it was delightful. 2) They offer a limited number of soak passes per day; which means you get a really relaxing intimate experience. 3) If you're in the mood for a little pampering, they do offer massages! Totally work the indulgence. The therapist takes the time to get to know your specific body needs and helps work out all the knots and kinks. 4) They offer up a variety of accommodations on-site for those that are seeking more of a retreat type experience. Apparently, we booked our massage and soak the same day as AppleFest. While that could be a lovely experience full of pot luck goodies and folk music, it was a bit frustrating to not have been told in advance. Parking was pretty full upon arrival, and it was packed when we left. Oof. Just not prepared for all that during this visit. All in all, Avalanche Ranch was a great way to loosen up some sore stiff muscles. I'd easily make my way back to indulge again. **Pro Tip: Feeling peckish? You can bring in your own food and drinks!

Attended a stunning wedding here…read more The space really has so many gorgeous little details. From the small welcome area that can serve as a bar for welcome drinks, to the ceremony area, which truly is so magical feeling as it surrounded by trees, and the sound of a bubbling creek, to the actual house, infrastructure that has bathrooms for guests, as well as respective dressing rooms for parties, this is a unique and gorgeous venue. During the reception that I attended here, we dined under their large, heated tent, which had plenty of room for everything that was needed. There was also WiFi available on site. I'd love to attend another event here. Really lovely spot.

It was love at first sight. Cheryl gave us the tour at Blackstone Rivers Ranch, she has a beautiful soul as did everyone who works for this venue. Each one of them were so kind and helpful. This venue has years of experience and a preferred list of vendors that make this process much easier and more relaxed as they work so well together (and as a bride you feel comfortable and confident that everything will go well). This is very important working as a team to create such a special day for two people. None of our family or invited friends knew about this place. We had guests from Minnesota, Mexico, California, Spain, Colombia, Panama, and other countries. We knew that they were making a huge sacrifice to be here on our special day. The time for the wedding arrived and when our guests arrived at Blackstone Rivers Ranch they were stunned and delighted, our guests did not stop commenting that it was the most beautiful and fun wedding they have ever been to. We had compliments about the venue, catering, DJ, coordinator, photographer, EVERYTHING from our guests. As a bride I was afraid of having the same problem as the other brides, who always had some complaint or something that did not go the way they wanted on their special day, BUT NO I was not one of those brides (YAY)! My wedding was the best and the most perfect thanks to Blackstone Rivers Ranch and their list of preferred vendors. Without the help of BRR my wedding would not have been possible to plan as perfectly. Every penny invested in this wedding was worth it to the fullest. My husband and I are more than sure that it was the best decision we have ever made in having a big wedding with 100 guests and not a small wedding with only 15 or 20 guests. My guests fell in love with our wedding and the venue and they couldn't stop talking about it. They all told us that it was worth the sacrifice they made to travel from far away to experience the beautiful views of the mountains and the river at the venue, the big and beautiful white tent. EVERYTHING was romantic and unique. My husband and I will always be grateful to BRR, our words and gratitude will not be enough for the enormous satisfaction and happiness we had on our wedding day. I'm from Florida so I don't get to see a lot of the nature that is included here but the grounds were immaculate! We did a family trip up to the mountains for a couple of days and on our way back home, we stopped by the Betty Ford Alpine Gardens because I knew my mother in-law loved flowers and I thought she would enjoy it here. We parked in the parking lot next to the big open field. Unfortunately there was an event that day and we had to pay I think $10 (can't remember the exact amount). I guess it evened out since the garden is free? Anywho, the garden was a short walk from the parking lot. It's named after the former first lady who preferred Vail as their vacation spot and helped the community flourish to what it is today. There's signage throughout the garden to read about Betty Ford, the plants, and wild life. It's a small garden, but there are plants from all over the world and we enjoyed strolling through the various paths. My mother in-law enjoyed it as well, so mission accomplished! If you're in the area and love plants and flowers, it's worth a quick stop, but I wouldn't go out of my way for it.
