The ice cream isn't homemade, it is Leibys which is fine, but they could expand upon the flavor variety a bit, and serve larger sundaes, shakes, etc. Frugal ice cream shops are just annoying. Other then that, it is a nice ice cream shops with tons of potential to grow and be better but even if they do nothing, they're better then mediocre. If I could give 3.7 stars I would.

You just don't see gluten-free cones anywhere, so kudos to them for trying to be allergen conscious! They also have a lot of vegan options, all of which looked fantastic. I went for my classic 2 scoops: chocolate & peanut butter since they didn't have a chocolate PB flavor... That would be my only "criticism" ... keep the staple flavors in stock. This particular location (they have a few) is tucked back in a cute little downtown shopping square which looks to be brand new. It was a tough thing to accept because this area is rooted in tradition and nostalgia. I just was thinking "this must be the end". I wanted to visit Heislers because I found out they had beautiful sunflowers. I was so eager to see the fields of flowers! Heislers has 6 beautiful acres!!! For this reason guests may take 3 complimentary blooms. When I asked the attendant there he said we could take as much as we want. All complimentary but if you wish to have a Heislers vase that will cost you 14$. I'm absolutely thrilled with the new changes so far! I sure hope they will stay open much longer than Labor Day too. We shall see. Heislers has put a cute soft pretzel building in, in place of the ancient pizza place that used to have some weird assorted junk for sale in the past. I heard the new owners had soft pretzel business experience. I did not try them but I will. I would love to see a sesame seed option, please. I got strawberry cheesecake ice cream and my husband chose salted caramel which he reported was delicious! I didn't order any hot food nor did I look at the hot food menu- but I will in the future. The only downside is the limited seating since it operates mainly as a walk-up window. There are a few tables out front and one on the side, but on a hot, sunny day, finding a shady spot can be a challenge. Overall, Annie's is a charming local ice cream stop with generous portions, friendly service, and some surprisingly tasty treats beyond just ice cream.
