New Vehicle new issues. My Yukon was pulling to the right since the day I bought it, it had developed a crazy shake. I had gone to a different shop previously and they were saying I would need to get a new steering rack to correct my alignment. Before dumping money in to my Yukon I decided to go back to a shop I know and trusted and was happy to find Freeman Frame still open. I had my Yukon dripped off and they aligned it before the end of the day. During my pickup Terry had stated they got the alignment dialed in, but that the tires needed to be replaced (second time I recall a shop saying I needed new tires but not mentioning why) and to bring it back after getting new tires to recheck the alignment. Still unsure as to why I needed new tires I drove the Yukon home, steering wheel was not center, still had a right pull and a minor shake. After getting home I looked at the tire tread and there was still plenty of life left. I decided to jack the front end up and look at the tires. At first I spotted nothing while I spun the tires and when I was about to call it a day, I found my driver side tire had a hump. Now I found the culprit for my pull and shake. Not knowing if the issue went further than 1 tire I bought new wheels and tires and installed them myself. After the new tires, the Yukon does not pull anymore and the shake is gone, steering wheel is now center and I had not had time to go back to have the alignment rechecked to make sure it's where it's supposed to be. I went to Freeman a few years back to have work done on my classic Mustang. Everything was good until they made repairs that were not authorized with parts that were twice as expensive than what I found at the local parts stores. There work was fine, but felt slighted and taken advantage of. If you use them, just get all estimates upfront and in writing before they do any work. read more

My car was making noises and had visible alignment issues after hitting a pot hole. Came on a recommendation by Apex Autobody that this is the only shop in town that can fix my problem. Freeman specializes in front end adjustments. My car needed: Aligned front end. Adjust caster camber & toe. Straighten left knuckle for camber and caster and modify both sides for camber -- don't worry I have no idea what that means but problem solved and the alignment is perfect. So, I needed to get my bearings pressed on to my axles on my 63 Chevy Impala. He quoted me a very good price to press and install them, but I have a buddy to install them. We went to Terry to get them pressed on to the axles and there was no waiting time. He was EXTREMLY BUSY, but he did it right their and then. This is my first post on yelp. I've known of these guys since I was a kid. We've never had an issue with this company. We have 8 vehicles which 3 are commercial wroking vans. NO ONE can align our trucks with the special side racks as even as good as these guys. Everyone is so friendly and curtious. They are not the cheapest but are very reasonable when you think about it. I'm done with most Mechanics. I like these guys because they are old timers and are all legit workers work over here. I don't see any illegals working which tells me that they have legitimate business running and my cars are in safe hands. read more

I let the alignment go on my VW Passat for more than a year because the guys at Wheels Work off Fremont Blvd by the Fremont Hub told me that the camber or caster (or both, not sure) could not be adjusted on that car and I will need to take it to a frame shop. He said it may cost me $1000, which I wasn't willing to spend. Well, after driving with the bad alignment for a whole year, someone recommend me to Freeman Frame and it cost me $100. The alignment was perfect and I was so happy. The shop was Mom and Pop with no fancy equipment, no comfortable waiting room ( I took a chair and sat outside) but they know what they were doing and it did not take long. It's actually really neat to see mechanics who can do things really well without being told by a fancy diagnostic machine what to do. The reviewer before me was correct in that they are probably conservative Republicans and I am a democrat. It does seem unprofessional for them to refuse service to someone of a different political aliance but it's an individually owned shop. What can we say? My review is based on the good job they did on my alignment. If you have an alignment problem that no shops can fix, go give them a try. read more

you have been warned. do not let them touch your car unless you drive a 1960's buick. they ruined my suspension. did not fix my alignment. and charged me DOUBLE just because of what car i have. they performed work i did not ask for. they performed work that is NOT supposed to be done to my car.now i am stuck with a hefty repair bill at a shop that actually knows what they are doing, dont say you were not warned. read more

My wife's car was having some steering problems and went to a couple shop to get an idea of what's going on. One shop told me it was the entire lower control arms while the other said it was bushing. Not knowing which shop is right I seek a third opinion and found Terry and his wonderful team. They specialize in alignment and was quick to identify that my wheel balancing was off and it was indeed my bushings. They replace and realign everything and couldn't thank them enough!! I don't usually take the time to comment on transactions that have been done but this shop, watch out for. Was referred to shop to have 10 body bushings replaced on my 64 Oldsmobile. To put it bluntly he only replaces 5 of them. Never said anything that it was incomplete. Did not return any extra parts. He did however tell me he had to cut a hole in my sheet metal to replace one of the bushings. If that was the case then fine but I should have the option to allow a hole cut in my car not him. He cut the hole without my authorization. Too top it off he left greasy handprints everywhere. Seats ,steering wheel , all over the trunk and when asked about this. He said nothing. Hard to believe that is how they treat your car while they work on it. Total cost for 3 and 1/2 bushings was 280.00. One of the bushings he only replaced half of it. The one other bushing by itself he charged 350.00. The other 4 bushings well they were never replaced so who knows why. Maybe they didn't want to or they just rip people off. I took my truck down to these guys for an alignment. My regular shop could not do it since it takes shims to make the camber adjustment. I had the service writer take down the specific settings for my truck. It's fully electric. The best alignment is zero toe and zero camber. When they were done, I asked the manager if it was set as I had asked. He checked it and it was not. He did educate me on the fact that just my weight slightly changes the alignment. But that did not make it anywhere close to what I had requested on the left side. The right side was perfect. So he had them redo the left side. That was the only reason I rated them 4 instead of 5 stars. Having managed a couple of shops I knew from experience that if you want something that's different you have to stay on them to make sure it's done to the custom spec. The alignment works perfectly and I'm happy. It ran $100. read more

I picked up a truck summer of 2010 without checking it out completely, which was understandably stupid, and was told the frame may be beyond help because the lift was installed incorrectly and had been ridden hard and hung up wet. Great Service from Freeman's. Precision Tune Autocare told my daughter the alignment was ok without explaining why her tires had worn unevenly- and charged her for a wheel rotation. The great guys at Freeman's checked front and back alighnment and explained the wear may have happened prior to the previous alignment. And the tire continues to wear in the old pattern. Cost for front/back alignment check and tire/alignment education- ZERO. They are in the building behind Jack in the Box, a couple of doors down from Bugformance. From the mechanics to the owner, they were a great group of guys to deal with. I had tires wearing inappropriately. They made a minor adjustment and charged me much much less than they had quoted which was a great bargin. They also told me what to watch out for, in terms of tire wear, and said to come back if I had any issues. read more

Stood at the counter for 20 minutes. Another customer arrived, an employee appeared and helped her immediately, pulled her vehicle in right away. That's fine, maybe she had an appointment. I've been coming here since 1982. Mostly for alignments until the late 90's. Brought a 98' dodge van here for strange noise in rear axle. I thought it was wheel bearing. Terry checked it out and figured it was just the tire itself. Changed tire no more problem. Have since sent many family members and friends here because of his honesty. I am the son of a mechanic who normally does his own work unless time is the issue( I work good, but slow). Recently, my daughter spun her 2000 Camry out and slammed against the curb. Looked pretty bad with bent wheel and I guess the axle. Had it towed to the shop without calling in advance on a Friday night(Dec. 10). I knew the shop was closed for the weekend but I also had a feeling Terry could help me. Called him on Monday, Dec. 13th said I would be in to explain my car situation Have not seen him in a while(more than 14 years) and mentioned our long past and the many happy customers I sent to him in between those 14 years. Put the car on the rack, checked it out, gave me and estimate. Car was ready in one day just as explained and better than new. I come from an old style family raising that believes in the hand shake and an honest word, PERIOD. For more than 30 years I have come here when I have to and have never been disappointed. I have had trouble getting a good alignment and my tires have paid the price. I took my van to Freeman Frame because I was told they did good work. They don't have a fancy shop but what they do have is honesty and a real understanding of how to do an alignment. The bill was in line with the estimate and done in a timely manner. read more
