Freehold Ford service department are scumbags ... . So, I bring my van in for service as my brakes are grinding... they tell me no availability and I can leave my van and they will get to it ASAP. I'm 6 year customer and have had my van serviced as recommended (now, I'm sure I was ripped off with other services). If I could give this dealership zero stars I would. I've been a customer for over six years and I've never been more disrespected by a business in my life. My car had been having problems since the first month that I leased the vehicle. They claim that nothing was wrong with the computer for three whole years until I started talking to everyone in Freehold Ford about getting my car fixed before the lease term is up. They have gone as far as saying, my car wasn't covered under warranty, even when the lease wasn't up yet and fought with me about it for 10 minutes and then realized that they were wrong. Make sure you check your registration because they gave me a registration that had a completely different license plate number and I was driving around like that for one year. I went in to ask Ford what had happened and how this information wasn't right on my registration, I asked to either be refunded or for them to fix the registration at no charge to me because I did pay for registration that wasn't even correct for an entire year. The owner decided to scream at me and say that we can't be doing this again, even though it was their mistake in the first place. They do not take any accountability. If you have a lease buyout, they will send you away because apparently it's not "worth there time" I was told by the finance manager Lonnie Sherry. Both Lonnie Sherry and John jr Morota have on different occasions screamed in my ear when they didn't get there way and I really do believe that it is because I'm a female and they think they can talk to me how they want. I bought my car at Larson ford in Lakewood, nj and they actually treat you like a human being. Tracy black and Robert made the buying process quick and painless where as freehold ford will have you waiting around for your entire day off, also at Larson Ford they don't tack on $15,000-$20,000 addendum if you are looking to buy a new vehicle (LIKE FREEHOLD FORD DOES). Close to $7000 to fix. My younger daughter almost died in the middle of the highway because the car just stopped moving. I would not recommend them at all, dealer or brand. Made an appointment the previous Monday for that Saturday and when your appointment time comes around you are in and out. All for free. Once I was here for a tire rotation as well and the lug nuts were stripping so they gave me a few for free. I'm in and out in under an hour. I never imagined that with the pandemic going on. Freehold Ford would treat there customers 100% unfairly. The worst experience I ever had and was lied to about the used vehicle I just purchased. I would never recommend Freehold Ford to anyone buying a used vehicle. I was told directly to my face by the used car manager Mike Kellerman that everything was checked on this vehicle by them and everything was good so I bought the truck and after I had my diesel mechanic look at it 2-3 days later I found out that the Body Mounts were shot , The Radiator is leaking, the 2 front hub bearings are bad , the washer sprayed on the hood were broken and when you hit the washer fluid button the fluid sprayed all over the engine and finally the new drivers front seat they put in the truck the power button on the side of the seat is hanging out of the seat because all the clips are busted. Remember I was told to my face that the truck was checking totally and everything was good. FIRST LIE by Mike. Second LIE by Mike. I called him on Tuesday and gave him the opportunity to help me rectify this situation and he said to me on the phone that he would definitely get back to me and of course I never heard back from him. And of course the owners son john Merata who sits next to him i guess Doesn't care about repeat customers because I didn't get any calls from him either to help me with this very UNFAIR situation. I can't say anything bad about the sales people here because sales people don't stay at a dealership very long. I've purchased 2 cars here and the salespeople were awesome. Unforunately they don't work here anymore. Know your trade-ins value and have your financing in order before you get here. Service however is a mess. The minivan I purchased here had a bad starter. I would occasionally have to smack it with a hammer to get it to work. One day it just wouldn't turn so I had it towed here. Of course they couldn't find the problem even though I told them what was wrong and asked them to swap the starter. They couldn't find anything wrong with it, charged me 100 dollars, and sent me on my way. Drive home, went to leave an hour later...starter was dead. Replaced it myself for half what the dealer was going to charge. I also purchased my F-150 here. I paid ALOT of money for it but it was exactly what I wanted. It rotted away after 6 years. When I went in to discuss the metal failure with them but they wouldn't even look at me. By the way, a friend of mine had the same truck that rotted away exactly the same way. This incident is the reason I'll never purchase another Ford. A different friend had a Ranger that the paint began peeling off. They did the same turn away/refuse to look at you move they did to me. He contacted Ford directly who ended up paying to have the truck painted. Funny thing...Ford sends me test drive certificates and car/dealer surveys every year or two. The flange was replaced but they failed to clear the check engine light for the faulty flange. Denied the check engine light was for the flange, was defensive and argumentative when I attempted to speak to the advisor. Implied that they would have to diagnose the light separately, which I imagine would cost the standard $130-$150, range to read the computer, which you can do yourself. Purchased a new Taurus Limited in 2012. Yesterday 8/18/2021 was trading car in for a Lexus. The dealer uses a paint meter and said the 2 passenger doors had been repainted. The meter showed almost 2 times more paint than the rest of the car. The trade in value plummeted. To say the least I was furious. So Freehold Ford slowdown me a damaged car without disclosing it. Was given an internet price of $31531 on the vehicle of interest. Because I know that certain rebates are not valid with special financing, which I planned to take advantage of, I asked the manager with whom I was speaking how much of the discount goes away. He said (which I knew already), $1500. Fine, the financing would save me more. Asked if he would be in that evening, he said yes. OK, see you later on, then. Went in, long story short, got a TERRIBLE appraisal for my trade, $1500 lower than the worst I'd seen so far, and $3000 lower then the average of the three other offers I'd gotten. Oh, and sitting at the deal table, they tried to add back $2000 because I'm financing with the 0% deal, which was $500 more than stated earlier in the day. Got the usual run-around and attempted double-talk, and so I walked out. No big deal, just another day at a car dealership, many are like this. They had an easy sale if they just dealt in good faith, but no, they had to go for the jugular. The manager on duty was so belligerent when I told him that I had no interest in sitting with him to let him slowly and painfully back down from his earlier attempts to put one over on me that I thought, "hey, I should Yelp about these gentlemen - others should know about their integrity and grace." So here I am, Yelping, since I was banished from the dealership when I refused to sit down with the manager and sit through his rationales and lame persuasive arguments. I really love my Ford Fiesta. I got a good deal and good financing from the dealer. But the service department (and I am one of the few firm believers that it makes sense to take your car to your dealer for service. Though my last few experiences are making me question this belief). I brought my car in for an oil change and service in February of 2018 and, after leaving, my service light came on, my tire pressure alert came on and I got pulled over for a blown tail light. I called the next day - I talked to a gentleman (I won't mention his name) and he apologized. He told me to ask for him on my next service call. Which was this week (Tuesday, June 12, 2018). When I asked for him, went over what happened at the last service call, he got very defensive. Not only was I disappointed with my last service call, I consistently get an email that I MISSED my service call from Ford. He said it has something to do with entering the VIN. I told him that wasn't my fault. He laughingly told me it wasn't his fault either. Or the ticket I got from my blown tail light. I tried to explain to him that that wasn't the point - it was the fact that obviously a full service wasn't completed on my last visit. He apologized. I just sighed. He told me the current maintenance light may cost me $100 (even though I am still under warranty). The light was on, (after waiting two and a half hours) was due to it not being properly reset after my last visit (even though I went back a day later for that very reason). I got a Ford Service Credit Card specifically to take my car to my dealer for service. I will either find a new dealer or cancel my card and take my car to a local garage in the future. read more

On July 21 my Ford Explorer was drop off on the (Freehold ford 3572 route 9 south, freehold , NJ 07728) location and it was place under recall, when I spoke to the representative ( Michael worman ) he explain to me that they order the parts and they were still waiting on them. this was Friday July 22 , I waited to Monday to call again and they said that they were still waiting on the part and didn't have a idea on when they were going to get it, that day I had to rent a car because I work in New York and I have no transportation available, I call customer service and explain to them that I didn't receive the offer of a loaner car and I went to enterprise and guy explain to me that if my car is under recall the company has to ether pay for my rental or offer me a loaner, the representative from customer service ford said that at the moment they didn't have a program available for my refund it was really weird since everyone that I know was telling me that they weren't giving me the correct information or service since they have had there cars under recall in the past and everything was refunded to them, I return the car on Saturday with a bill of almost 800 dollars and still no answer from the Freehold ford about an update from my car they answer that I still was receiving was that they were Waiting on the parts, every time I would speak to a representative from that location I would feel uncomfortable and in someway discriminated maybe because of my accent, I returned the car on Saturday and I was struggling on making another call to get an update from my car since they customer services wasn't so great, today Tuesday August 2 I call this morning and politely ask to be transferred to the services department and the answer was the same (waiting on parts) I explained to the guy that if he can please give me a real answer since Im already 800 dollars down and also had to take a week off of work because I didn't have a vehicle and he said (that was all he can say he didn't have answers on when he was going to receive the parts), now at this point I was already aggravated and I just call ford customer service the girl that help she contact the same location were my car is at the moment and find out that all this time there was a part available for my car on the parts department and service didn't know or care to find this out ,and the reason I know this is because she advised me to get in contact with David from the parts department since he advised her that he had one available and for me to call to put it on hold I explain to her how can he had the part and my car is there and they haven't installed, when I call david he said that in fact he had the part I needed and he was surprise to know that my car was actually there since the July 21 , this make me believe that services department didn't even check with the parts department on my car situation, David walk up to the services department with me on the phone and tell the guy that he had a part available they sounded in shock and they were asking questions if it was the same number and every question that they were asking David , he would respond with yes is the correct part, is incredibly the lack of customer service that location has I been wasting time , money , personal days and energy when they had everything there all this time and just because they were to lazy to find out my car still not fix and they refuse to pay my refund for my rental as well, please do not bring your car to this location or buy a car from here they don't deserve to have any business due to the treatment they provide to there customers. read more

It's unfortunate, but I'm glad to see others had horrible experiences with this dealership as well. I did not have a choice of dealers to go to b/c this is the one my fleet management company chose to pick up the new car. I will strongly suggest to the fleet management company to not use this dealer for any future vehicles. I dealt in particular with Mike Zrebiec. He was highly unprofessional to say the least. I had hoped he didn't represent the types of employees at Freehold Ford, but from reading the other reviews, it seems like a plague; unfortunately it usually rolls down from upper management. Anyway, I took delivery of my fleet vehicle Monday, 26 Dec 2016, evening, it was dark and Mike basically tossed me the keys to the new car and took the keys to my old one. He stopped by for a minute or two after taking my old fleet vehicle and basically sent me on my way; very rushed and unprofessional. I drove the vehicle home, ~20 miles and parked it in the garage. The next day I noticed there was a huge chip/chunk missing from the rear driver's side wheel/rim. I took pics of it and called, first my fleet management company who told me to call the dealership. I called Mike at Freehold Ford and explained the issue with him (that the evening I took delivery of the car it was dark and I did not see it. It wasn't until the following day did I notice the wheel damage. I'm definite that I didn't hit anything on the way home. To do that sort of damage I definitely would know if I hit something). The very first thing he said, condescendingly, was "so what did you hit?" To that I restated "I drove the car home and know that I did not hit anything. That is why I'm calling bc it must have happened prior to me picking it up." I sent him the pics of the damage and he responds with a pic of his computer screen with the contact number (now we are texting which is good bc I can capture our conversation) "we use *wheel repair shop* to fix our wheels." I asked if Freehold Ford is paying for the damage and he replies "No they are not." I requested that his manager call me. To which he responds "I am the fleet manager." (He knows exactly who I want to call me; everyone reports to someone.) So then, to be more specific, I requested a "Freehold Ford's general manager to contact me." No one called. I'm not even sure he told the general manager to call me. But if he did and the GM didn't call....Again, it goes back to my original statement on how things roll down from upper management. Then he writes "I spoke to my detail department and they said the rim was fine. We would have never delivered a car that way. He will tell you the same thing, but you can call whoever you want." That last part really got me. Who says that to a customer?!?!?! Seriously! Then I requested they call me too. So I still haven't heard from either the GM or the detail department. I mentioned then that it must have happened after it left the detailing area and before I drove it home, bc I KNOW I didn't do the damage. There was also yellow paint where the damage was, which shows that if it were detailed that would have been cleaned off. So the detailing department was probably right, that there wasn't damage when they had it, but shows that it probably happened sometime after it was detailed. Again, after it was detailed and before I drove it home. Mike also responded "I have cameras everywhere. The car was perfect when it left." "Yeah" I'm sure he personally went through all the camera footage (sarcasm) and positive he didn't check the car out before I left the lot (no sarcasm). He barely even spoke with me by the car before I left! All I know is I'm positive I didn't do the damage. I spoke with the wheel repair shop..they said it would cost estimate ~$150 to repair. I can't believe Freehold Ford is willing to lose a customer, and probably more, especially when I tell my fellow co-workers (who all drive Fords) how I was treated. But they already lost my patronage just on the way I was spoken to and treated. Basically calling me a liar. When I said "I don't appreciate being called a liar" He tries turning it around on me saying "You also said it happened here making us look like an awful dealership which we are not and would never deliver a car like that. So I appreciate you not insinuating we did it." Just the way you have been responding shows what kind of dealer allows you to work for them. And let's think about this logically a bit....I know I didn't do it. The car was in the dealership's possession just before I picked it up....Unless they lent it to someone prior to me picking it up...I really don't see where else it could have happened!??? I asked him for the vehicle's timeline from when it left the detailing dept. And so far no response.....I have already filed a formal complaint with Ford Motor Company requesting the damage be repaired. I had a particularly awful experience with this dealership with my first car, and I thought it would be helpful to give people the heads up. I got my car in 2007, a brand new Ford Fusion. My dad had been helping me out when I was in college, bringing it in for services for me. In 2011, I personally brought the car in to be serviced after hearing a noise while driving. Long story short, I was charged over $500 and told some bullshit story about the power steering. As I was leaving the dealership, I heard another loud noise and had to turn around and go back. The man at the service area was very rude to me and sent another man out to look at my car after I argued that I wouldn't pay for them to look at my car again when I had already paid under the assumption that everything was fixed. That man, who I will not name, talked to me as he looked at my car saying I shouldn't take my car to the dealership (this was a man who worked there!!). He told me that there was nothing wrong with my power steering but that there was a loose cap making the noise. In his words, they saw I was a young girl and took advantage of that. When he looked inside my hood this time, he said they had left something unplugged, probably hoping I would come back and spend more. He told me to be careful and argue the charges. Of course, I lost my temper and stormed inside asking for my money back. Again, long story short, that man who told me all those things ended up getting fired and the service man told me not to return to the dealership with my vehicle if I was going to accuse them of such things. Needless to say, he was a major asshole and I'm sure he's still working there. This all happened around October 2011. In February 2012, I was driving my car with just 50k miles on it and the engine blew out!!! I took it to this dealer again with my dad and they said my cars engine was shot and that it was worth less than the new engine would cost. I was furious!! How does that happen to a new car at 50k miles after being serviced just 4 months prior! I am convinced that they must have done something to my car and would strongly recommend against this dealershipw. To make the situation worse, they wouldn't even give me money to trade the car in. They were incredibly nasty. I took the car to volkswagen of freehold and they were kind enough to work with me on pricing and gave me back $2k for my car even though it didn't have a working engine. The end result was, my family owned three ford vehicles in total. After this experience, we all traded them in for different brands within the next few months. I can't insist enough that there is a reason that ford is known as "Found On Road Dead"... It's really not a joke. read more
