Ever been seen only by an assistant for a PT appointment, no Dr.? Despite having an appointment…read morewith the DPT, scheduled weeks in advance, there was neither time or hands-on manipulation with the Dr. during a one hour session. I've been at multiple providers over the past 20 years in several states, and this is the only practice where I've had the experience of being shifted to an assistant for a full appointment, not 1/2 hour with a DPT and then a 1/2 hour with a PTA or assistant to do exercises. If that's fine with you, both Mary Kate (DPT & owner) and Stella (PTA) were both excellent when I did have time with them. They charge you the same fee no matter the level of education and experience. I pay OOP and for $140/hr, I expect to spend half the appointment with a fully trained Dr. of physical therapy, not a full hour with an assistant who has 2 years educaction or less. Out of 4 appointments, intake was the only "normal" appointment of 1/2 DPT and 1/2 exercise coach. It's just not the level of therapy I've previously received, and I went elsewhere to finish my recovery program The clinic's response to my concerns was "Our cash rate is based on the type and length of skilled physical therapy service provided, rather than which licensed clinician performs it. This is standard practice, since both PTs and PTAs deliver the same level of skilled care under the therapist's direction". They do not! DPT's, PTA's and non licensed exercise assistants are not equal in their coursework or skills!

A couple of years ago I was in a lot of pain from a pinched nerve in my neck. I could hardly move…read moremy head to the left. My neurologist referred me specifically to Imelda and I have been grateful ever since. Shortly after I started PT at PhysioPartners, I began to experience some pain relief. I was given a comprehensive home routine that I followed. I did not ever think I would be relieved of the neck pain and I am glad that I do not have it often. I would not be honest if I said I was completely pain free. I sometimes get flare ups and the vast majority of the time the home exercises help relieve the pain. Imelda is a McKenzie Method of Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy clinician. I am grateful for her proficiency in this method because it definitely helps my spine conditions. I recently started physical therapy again. The orthopedic specialist I see told me to work with Imelda again for my spine, lower back pain and nerve pain. PT is helping me quite a bit. I was given new exercises to add to my home routine that are helping me improve and strengthen. From the time I walk through the front door to when I leave, I do not feel rushed. My questions are answered. Imelda confirms that I understand my protocol and instructions. The facility is wonderful and has quite a bit of equipment and classes offered if needed. I am very grateful to Imelda and PhysioPartners. I've shared Imelda's and PhysioPartners' information with friends and colleagues.

Imelda was the first provider who used a truly holistic approach to my care. While other PTs had only focused on my head and neck, Imelda quickly understood that my scoliosis was connected to my migraines and her treatment plan was comprehensive. I've had a very positive experience with Imelda and highly recommend her for physical therapy. She is extremely knowledgeable, empathetic, and thorough. I understand my body and triggers much better after working with her. My migraine frequency and scoliosis pain have improved tremendously.

I was very skeptical and had no expectations - but wow, acupuncture works. And Michael is the best. I highly recommend. It's so relaxing and calming. If you're on the fence - just do it!

I left work early (over an hour from the North suburbs to the north side of Chicago) to make the appointment at FIT institute at 6:30 tonight and I got a call from them, around 6:15, asking if I'm running late to my appointment at 6pm... I called them back, explaining that I was on the way and my appointment was for 6:30, per my first interaction.
