This place is awesome! The owners are really sweet, but know how to strongly lead a class that will give you a great work out! The studio has a patriotic theme which I appreciate. Freedom is one of my top values, so I love the name and what they stand for! There are lots of available classes, and you can prebook them on line to ensure you have a spot. Mid day classes tend to have more openings in case you have to pop on to the schedule short notice. I'm sad they don't have a location in Sedona! My stay in Prescott was brief, but going to Freedom Core was always the highlight of my day. Oh and the clients are great too! read more

FIRST let me say, the reformer Pilates work out is great. Helps with flexibility and strength. But, its rather expensive. I've hesitated writing this review however, you should know what to expect. The staff aren't very friendly, in fact, the woman, i believe is the owner has never said "hello" "thanks for coming" or even made eye contact and smiled at me. One of the instructors is just snotty. This is very sad because unfortunately at the moment they are the only "game" in town. I'm going to save my money and go to Yoga. Good luck. read more

This place has been life changing for me over the last year and a half. I am a lazy person who has a hard time committing to any sort of workout program and basically anything that is physical. I wanted to tone up for my wedding and happened across an advertisement for FreedomCore'd grand opening. Decided to try the free introductory class with Jess and loved it. I was hesitant to make any kind of commitment because in the past I've signed up and paid for memberships and waste my money because I don't show up. I left the studio and couldn't stop thinking about how much I enjoyed the class. I turned my car right around and went back and signed up for an 8 pack. It wasn't long before I upgraded to unlimited. Now I attend class an average to 2-3 times a week and sometimes more. I am not using this as a weight loss program. though I know that with a few other lifestyle changes it absolutely would benefit me for weight loss. This is MY hour. I leave my phone in the car. I turn off my mind and focus on my breathing (or singing along with the variety of music that is played in studio). I feel stronger mentally and physically thanks to my 50 minutes spent here. I am grateful that Jess and her spectacular family have brought a place to town where I have found immense happiness. read more

I never thought I would love Pilates as much as I do now, I took Pilates at a gym before I found Freedom Core Pilates. I never saw results, now I look forward to going to each class I can make. The owner, Jess and her parents, Kevin and Mary are super! The positive encouragement they share with the class keeps me committed to getting better, healthier and stronger.If anyone in class needs help, as I do sometimes, they are like your own personal trainer. It's a terrific studio ran by terrific people! I highly recommend just trying one class ..you will be very happy you did. It's worth the time and certainly the investment to see the results ! You will be hooked! And you're worth it read more

I reached out because I wanted to either pause my membership (my card was compromised and my summer schedule is busy) or discuss other membership options for the summer. After going back and forth and hearing the available options, I decided it made the most sense to cancel. I ended up giving 29 days' notice, and despite being only one day short of their strict 30-day cancellation policy, they would not make any exception and will be charging me for another full month. I understand that policies exist, but I also believe good customer service should take loyalty and circumstances into consideration. Being charged an entire additional month over one day feels unreasonable and not very customer-focused. While I've appreciated the classes, this experience has definitely changed how I feel about the studio and how they handle member relationships.

On one of my early outings with the Sedona Westerners hiking club, several fellow hikers mentioned that I really needed to do Yoga, which I wasn't really interested in, or Pilates, which I had never heard of. I started researching Pilates and finally chatted with Barbara Joy about what it could do for me and what I would have to do to achieve that. I began having sessions twice a week, and came to the realization that Pilates could help with my stooping, slouching, and very importantly with my overall coordination and sense of balance. I previously had no real knowledge of core strength, and no clue as to how I might improve my hiking abilities on the rocky trails that we have around Sedona. But honestly, it's worth every step! Just when you think you've reached the falls... you haven't. Keep going! The road in is pure washboard -- about 13 miles of bump city -- so make sure you have a 4-wheel drive and that nothing inside your car is loose. Fossil Creek is absolutely stunning, and bonus -- no permit needed after October 1st. The other thing says this trail is easy. No, it's not to be careful if you're taking somebody elderly over that doesn't have good mobility because there's some rocks you had a climb and what not also make sure you take plenty of water to drink and a little snack everything you pack in your pack. I would also suggest leaving the house by three 330. No later you don't wanna be hiking in the pitch dark.

I wish I knew more before going. I need to know more information about how things work at Fossil Creek. Even after going, though we enjoyed ourselves, I still don't know how it works. There were no signs telling you where you can access trails to get to the creek. You just had to guess. I found a trail at our Homestead parking lot, but it was very steep and a little dangerous. We found a spot okay in the shade but was very small for our party of 6. We worked so hard getting down there that we just made it work. After leaving we went up the road a little way in our vehicle to see what the other spots looked like, but I saw no bridge or easy access from The Bridge parking lot either, and the road was just way too bumpy. I hope my wife's suspension is okay on her Mazda CX-5. The information before going should've told us about the road and what to expect, basically how to plan. It's all a guessing game. I could've asked the Ranger lady more questions, but I didn't know what to ask. My boss made things sound different. Apparently you can't drive people to the waterfall trailhead anymore. You have to walk over 2 miles on a dusty dirt road in over 100 degrees with vehicles driving by kicking up dust. That makes no sense whatsoever. We enjoyed our time at the water. Everything else leading up to it and after it we could've done without. I don't see us coming back unless we have someone with better suspension and/or better knowledge of the area. Thank you.

Trail is marked with carin, since trail is less traveled, look for carin to stay on the trail. First water hole is deep enough for cliff jump. If you arrive early in the morning, water and lights are perfect to take reflecting images. Water stays cold even in the summer. No restrooms or drinking water available, bring plenty of water and food when visiting this trail

So, we made our way back up to the upper lake, where bait is permitted. The upper lake was fairly crowded and a bit noisy (sound really carries there), but it's a beautiful spot overall--small, peaceful, and scenic. We stayed for about two hours, didn't catch anything, but did spot a few fish swimming around. Still a pleasant visit!

This lake was formed in the 1960s when they dammed Lynx Creek. It is stocked for fishing and has a campground and hiking trails around it. There are lots of animals that are native to this area like mule deer, osprey and bald eagles. I booked a campsite here during the summer because I own a kayak and wanted to get out on the water. After setting up my site, I headed over to Lynx Lake. I was a little disappointed to see the water so low. I guess in late 2024, the lake was partially drained to fix a mechanical failure in the dam's outlet valve. It has to rely entirely on natural rain and snow to be refilled and could take years to get back to normal. So we just did a hike around the lake and headed back to our campsite. Lynx Campground has around 35 campsites with a picnic table, fire ring and a grill at each site. There are no RV hook-ups, but they do have drinking water and toilets. The campsite is about half a mile directly south of Lynx Lake. We enjoyed our campsite and had a fun time. We had to partially share our site with another family because their giant tent spilled onto our site (which was annoying). But we made the most of it. The nice thing is that the Town of Prescott isn't too far away if you need any food or supplies. As for kayaking, we were able to do that over at Watson Lake. You can book a campsite ahead of time on Recreation.gov.

Freedom Core Pilates is a family owned studio that encourages EVERY BODY. I encourage everyone to try the Introductory Class! A year ago, I really didn't know what Pilates was...a year later, I can't imagine life without it! I'm 55 and have been pretty inactive for many years. Within a few sessions I felt my body getting strong, more balanced, and more flexible. I am very "our of shape", and the movements were difficult at first. But, every session I feel myself getting better and better. I'm in better shape today than I had been in a very long time-and still improving. It is different from anything else I've experienced in the past. It works your entire body, but also works on your brain. There is magic in the routine that is difficult yet somehow relaxing! The sessions vary each time, keeping students engaged and focused on your own body and breath. I finally found an activity that I love doing and I know is contributing to my health span. I can't say enough good things about Pilates and about Freedom Core Pilates Studio. read more

I made the jump about a month ago to start Pilates and I'll never look back. I was so excited but so nervous about my first class, but the Pilates intro class made me feel comfortable. Jess the owner made me feel so welcome and teaches so smoothly and swiftly. You learn the basics super quick in the intro class making you feel confident going to your first true class. This is a daily staple in my life! It sets the tone for my day and is low intensity on the body but still offers a fantastic workout. The studio is very clean which I think anyone could appreciate! Jess has grip socks for purchase if you don't own a pair, and she has cute merch! I have had the pleasure of taking classes from Jess, Lori, Kevin and Vanessa. Fantastic! Let me start by saying that I have been a yoga instructor for over 25 years and managed my own studio space. I know how much work goes into running your own facility. The instructors at FreedomCore are fun and exceptionally knowledgeable. They give great cues for safety and optimum effectiveness for the exercises. The studio offers a nice variety of classes and many time options in which to take them. The space is impeccably clean. I love this place! I'm 72 years old and my goal is to stay mobile and fit as long as I can. I wanted an exercise routine with some resistance and strength training and I found the perfect fit here at Freedom Core. The classes are small (all ages!) and all the instructors are very good at giving cues and accommodating for any reason if you let them know.
