The bullying in this school was insane when I attended around 2015 and when I reported it I got…read moretreated like a snitch even by some of the teachers/staff because professionalism doesn't exist to most of the people who work here. There were some students that threw balled up papers at me and my teacher ignored it every day it happened. I even got sent to a hospital by force out of spite for talking back to one of my teachers after she told me I wasn't smart enough to hangout with my friends after school and told me to go straight home. There was even an employee of this school who kept trying to find excuses to touch me by asking me to do things with him when he had me alone in his office. If you care about your kids safety and mental wellbeing I would avoid sending them to this school. Don't let the size fool you, the quality of the educators is trash. Most of the time they just hand out work packets and sit at the desk playing on the computer. Be smart and choose another high school because your child will likely drop out or get sent to an alternative school due to the toxic environment here.

My daughter was bullied there by both teachers and students my daughter tells me. She's out now…read morefor a while. There was some lousy kid who cut my daughter's hair in class. When I went to the school and spoke with the vice principle or assistant principle or whatever that is, one f*****g c***t Amanda Mulch and complained. Know what she said? She said "You don't like it you can take your daughter to another school!" And that's exactly what I did. In a follow up meeting with the principle, one di***head Mr Roche he presented me with a stay order of some type. Yes what another reviewer here said they brush problems and hide them. This school is to be avoided at all costs and both Mr Roche and Amanda Mulch should be sacked immediately.

They tend to brush issues under the wrong to keep a good reputation and delete their google reviews…read morefrom parents - including racism While prescott Elementary is often highlighted for awards and ratings, our lived experience tells a very different story. There are significant behavioral issues among students that are not being effectively managed. The lack of classroom control creates constant disruptions and takes away from students who are there to learn. This directly impacts academic progress and the overall learning environment. More concerning, a fifth-grade teacher told an entire class that they would not amount to anything, would not get into college, and were not talented. When this was reported to both the school and the network, it was dismissed and brushed aside. This response--or lack thereof--raises serious concerns about accountability and whether issues are intentionally minimized to protect school ratings. Additionally, morning supervision at Wrightwood Park is inadequate. Staff members are frequently disengaged, chatting among themselves rather than actively supervising students, which raises safety concerns. Finally, during my daughter's transfer out of the school, her personal belongings were mishandled. We were given only one notebook and one pencil. Her glasses, pencil case, and multiple school supplies that we personally purchased were missing and never returned. Families deserve transparency, accountability, and a safe, supportive learning environment. Unfortunately, that was not our experience here.

I'm sure that kids get good education in this school. This review is about behavior of parents of the Romans and the Romans Coach in season 2025/26. They put so much pressure on kids. One of the siblings of the Romans was cheering with mean words. The kid would position itself next to the hoop, so that only the players can hear. Unbelievable. One of the fathers was yelling at his kid because they were loosing. I felt so sorry for those kids, even though they are probably similar to their sickly ambitious parents. The Romans Coach is a nice looking woman, but unfortunately in traveling team she is well known to be mean toward the girls. She was so annoying during the games, she was too hard on her team, with an attitude of cruelty toward opposite team. Again - unbelievable. This is expensive school and kids in Latin school will be successful, but in the background of their success, there will be a lot of therapy, substance abuse, hidden inappropriate sexual behavior and on the top of that, life long competitive cruelty that was built in them in such a young age. Such a pity.

I was learning things in my freshman and sophomore year of high school that many people didn't study until college. Having worked as an education reporter covering the good, the bad and the ugly of Chicago Public…read moreSchools, I now realize how fortunate I was to attend this Northwest Side public school from first through fourth grade. This school is safe, spacious, clean, and heavy on parental involvement. The student body is diverse - 60 percent white, 30 percent Hispanic. A small portion of the children here are native Polish speakers. Nearly 50 percent of students are classified as "low income." What does all of this mean? Dever's student population hits a great balance that is rarely found in public schools - one that is highly beneficial for any parents who want their kids to learn in a diverse environment. If you live in the attendance zone for Dever and are debating whether to send your children to private school or enter the charter or magnet lottery, I would highly encourage you to first consider this neighborhood school. Ask to take a tour during a school day - I think that you will be pleasantly surprised.

Admin only supports select students and cares about school image over student well being. The admin neglects victims and targets particular students (typically new) with use of manipulation. This school will break your kid to the lowest mental stability they will ever be at to preserve school identity+ aid select students. With a focus on teaching the whole child in an academically advanced environment, they work to establish norms of highly successful and socially-motivated individuals in a community that promotes collaboration, leadership, and celebrates the diversity of the students, families, and staff. In addition to the core subjects, students take classes in Spanish, Art, and Music. Skinner North focuses on the social emotional learning (SEL), which is a very important factor in how students learn to function in the world. There are a number of programs before and after school taught by the teachers and others. Teachers care about the students and spend a lot of extra time developing programs to use with their students. North Family members are encouraged to participate in the monthly social events throughout the year. Finally, many of the students are not from the immediate area and some of the students are bused to Skinner North. In the morning and at the end of the day the buses are lined up waiting for their students. For parents that are interested Skinner North Classical School for their child, they can attend one of many open houses for prospective families. I gave Skinner North Classical 4.5 stars, but since there is not a half star I have raised my rating up to 5 stars. The half a star deduction is because of the busing, in bad weather buses can be late coming or going which would cause children to spend more time on the bus, and would cut into the children's instructional time. Skinner North does have fantastic programs and a superior teaching staff that is dedicated to working with every student using differentiated instruction to help the students succeed.
