I love the special classes that they have for all grades. Every child gets the opportunity to learn Arabic, as well as participate in a dance class that teaches everything from modern dance, to tap, to breakdancing on a weekly basis. If students are having trouble in class, then teachers aides take them to the side to work on their problem areas. This is a small school, but that is perfect to ensure that all students receive the optimum learning experience. Fun note: The garden in front of Belding with the picnic tables is a certified wildlife habitat.

The leadership under Principal Yutzy and the time and care that the teachers at the school provide each student is a joy to witness. Students are challenged according to their abilities and are gently prodded to excel. It is almost like an extension of your family when it comes to the care/efforts put forth by the faculty & staff for the students. As a parent I can honestly say that my interactions at the school were more enjoyable and inclusive than they were at the private school. The education provided by all the GREAT TEACHERS over the years helped to enable my daughter to be prepared for that arduous task of Selective Enrollment and it got her into Northside College Prep. If you are debating whether to place your child at this wonderful neighborhood school; take the leap of faith as you will not be disappointed. The teachers communication as well as the office, more importantly the principal is beyond outrageous. The principal never wants to really tell the truth to parents and will yell at students, covering up secrets that will always show the truth someday. The principal had gone as far to fire a staff member due to telling the truth to the parents to help them get more knowledge on how the scenarios really are. Disgrace of a school, the staff is horrible please take care of your students to help them get better.

I have lost my long term job because of this!!! His curriculum looks a lot like that of highly regarded suburban schools that our friends kids attend. Definitely more rigorous than some catholic schools. This school has a cancerous problem with it's bullying within the student body, and lack of accountability from selected teachers and administration. With my time at PFGA, I was bullied and when I attended, there were teachers that did make efforts to make my time there somewhat manageable, however those specific teachers were eventually let go. There are only a small handful left within the school. Keeping teachers at this school seems to be a challenging task, because the good ones either leave at their own accord or they are let go. My younger brother, who also attends the school, has also been a victim of threats, harassment, and cruel treatment overall from his class. The current administration in this school always say they will take care of the problems, however they never do and it falls on deaf ears. When you have an administration/staff that cater to the bullies, rather than the victims, these kids don't stand a chance. Don't be fooled by the 5-star reviews, because some of these reviews are coming from the bullies' parents. And I can confidently attest to this statement. So, if you want your kids to be bullied and have an administration that does nothing to prevent it, then feel free to send them here. Otherwise, then run like hell.
