After the exam, they told us there was an 100 dollar charge copay. This should have NEVER been a charge. They should have verified benefits completely, and notified before the exam, not after that it would be a charge. Then we would have had the option to do it a later date. I spoke to Kristina assistant manager-also argumentative and condescending, who would not give me a number or contact information to the manager or district manager. And when I described the behavior of her employees at the store and what they looked like, black female in her 20's, she got defensive and upset. It's your job as management to manage your employees that are considering, interrupting and rude. Kristina told me to google the number if I wanted to speak to a manager!!!! I called back to let them know the instructions they gave my daughter for contacts we NOT legible. See the picture. Also, my husband was supposed to be able to order contacts fully covered by insurance the day of the appointment. He said yes he wanted contacts ordered, but they were not!! So now we have ru pay completely out of pocket. This place is fraudulent. Don't use them. The staff is rude, and charges you without verifying your consent or insurance coverage. How can you say people owe you when they were told before the appointment that they were covered??? Don't go here. Dominique and Kristina employees should not be here.

This shoulder is not in a happy place, but Dr Johnson will cut to the chase She took me back to my assigned space where Dr Johnson met me. He had a trick up his sleeve. The Front Desk area was well kept and the business manager was friendly and helpful. She was also very friendly to our son, to me that goes a long way. We were seen by Dr. Guy, and she was more that just professional. She was kind and understanding. Our son is terrified of any doctor-type setting so he was having none of that, but Dr. Guy kept on with the evaluation and answered all our questions. I couldn't find this location on Yelp so I came to google just to review. I was in and out. I filled out one sheet of paper and signed some others. I don't even know if it was legible because that's how bad I felt. I waited like 5 minutes and the front desk receptionist, Fran was super funny and kind. She had great energy which was needed that early. Her attitude helped make the process faster and she even said I could finish the papers later if I get called back. She offered me water. The tech that came to see me in the room Heather was pleasant and informative. She didn't jam the swab up my nose like most caregivers. The entire staff had smiles the entire time. Dr. Bernon was pleasant and extra cautious, he had me do an X-ray just to be sure it wasn't bronchitis. Oh and the X-rays are in-house!! That was a relief. The whole process was maybe 45 max. That's one of the fastest visits I've had at urgent care. He didn't just send me home saying have some tea and rest. He gave me prescriptions for my cough and congestion. He even gave a doctors note without even asking! I'm happy with my service and I'll be back when I have any medical issues...hopefully a long time from now though. What I'm saying is, I recommend this location.

Wow, epic FAIL, Pearle Vision. My 82 year old mom has been a customer for years. In fact, when she…read moremoved 13 years ago to MD from MI, she continued to support Pearle Vision because she was already familiar with your service and products. My mom visited PV recently (about 2 weeks ago) and got her annual exam. I instructed my mom to also ask for her PUPILLARY DISTANCE measurement while there. Pearle Vision REFUSED to give it to her because she was not getting her glasses at this location. She told them she has always bought glasses with PV, and though it has been 3 years since she bought some of your costly frames, she is a long-standing PV customer. Her finances no longer allow her the luxury of $400-$500 frames with prescriptions from your store. Again it was reiterated that PV will withhold measuring her pupils to ensure she gets her prescription filled with JUST THEM. That is a shame! My mom has been a loyal customer for years; she needs the PD # so she can buy some more affordable glasses (I intend on purchasing her an extra pair or two online). She PAID for the eye exam but not having a PD means she cannot purchase online, MORE AFFORDABLE glasses. Yes, she can just Google "how to get your pupillary distance" and do it herself, but why should she have to do that when the employees at PV already know how to do it? My mother is never coming back. I am sure PV's treatment of her has been the talk of conversation in the retirement home (where nearly 100 senior citizens reside) all week! Look how many customers PEARLE VISION could have had by doing something as simple as giving a customer her PD number. Well, if you are reading this--there is a SOLUTION... The WALMART SUPER-CENTER in California, MD will ABSOLUTELY give you your PD with an eye exam! In fact, even though my mother has already paid for her eye exam at Pearle Vision, they said if my mom comes in, they will measure her eyes (as PEARLE VISION SHOULD HAVE AND COULD HAVE DONE) for her for free! THAT is the personification of customer service!! My mom told EVERYONE in her building how kind Jenna was at WALMART and even though she did not purchase from Walmart Vision, they impressed her with their customer service. Shame on you, Pearle Vision. You lost a lifelong customer, and potentially an entire apartment complex of new clients because "your company policy" is to withhold a simple measurement (in an effort to FORCE a customer to only purchase from you). Procedure performed on the wrong eye.I had my first LASIK procedure with Dr. Mark Whitten in 2005…read morefor vision correction. Naturally, about 15 years later, I needed another correction and returned to Dr. Whitten for a consultation. During that visit, he recommended monovision, given my age at the time (late 40s). He explained that this approach would allow me to balance both near- and far-sighted vision without needing reading glasses, which many people begin using in their 50s. However, after the procedure I immediately noticed difficulty seeing clearly. Over the following year, I continued to struggle with my vision--particularly problematic in my work as a professional photographer--and sought evaluations from multiple optometrists and ophthalmologists. I then discovered that the LASIK procedure had been performed on the wrong eye. When I returned to see Dr. Whitten, I learned that neither he nor his staff had ever determined my dominant eye prior to surgery. In fact, my old patient notes from 2020 confirm that no such test was performed. Despite this, no apology was offered for the mistake. During that visit, I was seen by John Rogers, a technician and former Senior Surgical Consultant at TLC Vision. His background includes attending Computer Tech of Pittsburgh, but he has no formal education or degree in optometry or ophthalmology. He suggested inappropriate options such as cataract surgery (for which I am not a candidate) and during the same visit Dr. Whitten suggested undergoing yet another LASIK procedure (a third) to correct the issue or resorting to contact lenses--the very reason I had LASIK in the first place. This experience left me with the strong impression that the practice prioritizes business and profit over genuine patient care and vision correction. I regret not doing more thorough research before returning for a second procedure, as I have since learned of multiple malpractice lawsuits filed against Dr. Whitten, including Jamie Domeier vs. Mark Whitten, David Cantalupo vs. Mark Whitten, and Liesl Nichols vs. Mark Whitten. I also couldn't help but notice the promotional posters displayed across his offices, highlighting his LASIK surgery on Tiger Woods in 1999 as a marketing tool to brand himself as a "celebrity" doctor. Unfortunately, beyond the image, his apparent lack of attention and care for patients has led to a troubling number of lawsuits.

I recalled that there was a "Lifetime Guarantee," so recently I followed up and requested a consultation for an enhancement. My mother recently passed away, and I haven't been able to find any paperwork for my procedure (which was 15 years ago). I called the office, and they were able to find my file. They asked me how long I'd been going to the eye doctor, and I said about 5 years (since I had a baby and my vision declined). I arrived at the consultation, and it went well. Friendly office staff, etc. I was excited to find out that I was eligible for an enhancement in both eyes. As I was about to leave the appointment, they sat me down with someone to "review paperwork," which is when she informed me that since I hadn't had a full vision evaluation annually since my surgery, I wasn't eligible for the "Lifetime Guarantee" and that I would be charged $3,000 for the enhancement. I asked why it was expected to go to vision appointments annually when you have perfect vision, and she said "company policy." I understand that they are legally in the right, and I'm sure I was informed of this as a teenager; however, I feel taken advantage of. It felt like an ethically ambiguous money-grabbing situation. The surgery went well and I'm sure Dr. Whitten is very skilled; however, the follow-up experience was poor. Be cautious.
