What an extraordinary practice: kind, caring & competent audiologists; knowledgable support staff & an office well stocked with fairly-priced hearing aid accessories. When my mother moved from Florida to Baltimore, I went to this practice (not far from my home) to purchase new rechargeable batteries for her hearing aids. When I told the receptionist that the batteries were supposed to last about a year, but were not working after 5 months, she immediately consulted with Dr. Gina Crovato. Dr. Crovato told me that a recently identified defect in the hearing aid battery doors contributed to the loss of power & said she could replace them if I just brought in the hearing aids, which I did. My Mom had already seen another audiologist in Baltimore, who did not seem to be aware of this problem. My mother has since seen Dr. Kelsey Trinka, who is so patient, listens carefully and was able to make some needed adjustments in the hearing aids. My mother is slowing down & Dr. Trinka made sure she was comfortable & never rushed her. When another problem came up & I thought the warranty had expired on the hearing aids, Dr. Trinka took time to check the purchase/warranty papers from the Florida audiologist where the hearing aids were purchased, and verified with the manufacturer that the repair warranty is still valid for many months. I have accompanied my mother on multiple visits to audiologists in Pennsylvania, Maryland & Florida, as she moved. After her first pair of hearing aids were purchased in Pennsylvania, the audiologist said "See you in two years", as though her job, selling the hearing aids, was done. It takes considerable training & expertise to program hearing aids & I now understand that adjustments may be needed over several months to fine-tune programming as the wearer gets acclimated. This audiology practice is clearly committed to ensuring that the most up-to-date technology is working properly to service hearing impairment in a very patient-centered manner. I highly recommend this practice, because the purchase of hearing aids is not an end in itself; everyone needs competent follow-up support to make the most of that investment over time.

You should get a recommendation from a friend or your primary care physician. Like Rob, I also was told by Dr Gagnon that I had to buy supplements before any treatment could start for my allergies. This seemed odd, but one usually gives the other person the "benefit of the doubt" before passing judgment. I paid $155. cash for the (?) supplements because his office only takes cash or check. Then I was told I had to be tested for "amino acids, heavy metals, etc." and got it approved by my insurance. The bill for this was over $600. and it seems useless. My final visit was the clincher. I was given the "Dr Gagnon Diet" to follow which does not allow sugar, white flour, rice, tap water, fruit juices, etc. This is just about everything! If I wanted to get that "cleansed and detoxified" I would move to a hippie macrobiotic colony on Maui. Anyway, his hypothesis is that everything is caused by Yeast...or an overgrowth of yeast in the system. This has nothing to do with my problem of an inner ear dysfunction. Upon leaving the office I wrote a check for my co-pay and then was told that the additional supplement that he wanted me to take costs $60. I didn't want it, but felt pressured to buy it. It's something that is supposed to stop yeast overgrowth in the body. This all seems to be based on a non-scientific theory that is not supported by "real" doctors. If you want a holistic, metaphysical, and unconventional treatment for what ails you, and you believe in this junk, go to Dr Gagnon. Be prepared to spend hundreds of dollars on his wife's products and not get relief for your symptoms.

I had fully blown changing the wax filter in my left hearing aid. Made an appointment, Rick looked at it. Recognized what I had done wrong. Walked me through the correct procedure (again) and sent me on my way. If you are looking for a hearing aid pro, look no further. A truly five star experience.

Not only does she use her education to treat her patients, but she also adds her knowledge and wisdom of over 40 years of experience. I love Dr. Mathews and so do all of her patients! She is a wonderful employer as well. She is empathetic, never has a bad thing to say about anybody for all years I have known this beautiful soul. I have had many patients tell me personally that Dr. Mathews has done for them what no other doctor has been able to do for them. This is because she is "old school" she actually uses charts. We are a paper office and she takes the charts home. She researches while putting symptoms, complaints etc. together like a puzzle. All of this is possible due to the support of her staff! Her sister Asha runs EVERYTHING and is amazing! I know NOBODY is perfect, but when it comes to Asha no lies she's not made one mistake since I've been working here! Asha and Dr. Mathews' minds are like elephants! They remember everything about ANY patient down to the detail!( where it is in a pile of charts with the same name!)
