When that finally happened, I was told it would take 2-3 weeks to schedule the actual job but we agreed to move forward with an hourly rate. I didn't hear from them until the following week about scheduling, and was told no one could come for another 3 weeks. Fine. No one called to tell us when anyone was coming and the day of the job they didn't show up until 1:30pm after I had to call several times. I asked if they could start with the troubleshooting until I got home a couple hours later so that we could discuss adding anything new before that part was started. I pull in shortly after they arrive, around 2 to find them digging to add new lights. I stopped them and we thoroughly discussed the job - this was my first time meeting the actual electricians, who were very nice. Prior to this I had only dealt with the estimator/scheduler who is not an electrician. It was as if neither of them had ever spoken to each other about the job - the electricians had no idea what the job was other than adding a few lights. They then started to work and got a very small part of the job done - fixing a few underground wires that had gone bad. They did a great job but that's all they had time for that day. They said they would return in 2 days, first thing in the morning as we "were the priority job". At 11 am two days later, after no one showed up or called, I called and the same estimator/scheduler I had worked with had apparently no idea that they were supposed to return that day, said he had no idea where they were that day or what time - if at all - they were coming. He then called me back an hour later to tell me they weren't planning to come back that day at all - even to do the troubleshooting we discussed - and that they had to wait until some parts came in, which would be another week. Meanwhile, this entire time we had been repeatedly asking for an estimate on the additional items they were adding (simply the MSRP would have been fine) and a brochure of some sort so we could choose the lights. Despite being told someone would email, bring it over, etc. we never received anything like this. We then called to tell them not to come back and send us an invoice for the work done so far. I spoke with the secretary and she asked if she could relay any message to the owner. I told her this entire story and she just said, "ok, thanks, bye". Simply put, the right hand did not know what the left hand was doing. A shame because the electricians that came to our house to do what little work they did seemed very talented and knowledgeable (the one star is for them). The estimator/scheduler (Randy) ruined the entire experience for us and made them impossible to work with.
