I've been getting mine and my boys' hair cut here for about 6 months now, and they have never let us down. You may have to wait a few min, but you will get a clean cut once they are done. This barbershop used to be amazing. When the owner Frank originally opened the place it was a business that had both law enforcement and military veterans in mind. Being that Frank is an Army veteran I've always patronized and supported this small business since 2007 when it opened. Unfortunately this business has gone downhill. It's a Saturday and instead of cutting hair the barbers are rolling dice. One barber has a customer in the chair mid haircut and he stops to roll dice with another barber. I don't want to tell Frank how to run his shop but this is on another level. I for one will not be coming back and it's a shame because of how long I've been coming. read more

Due to how close this shop is to my home it was convenient. I looked over the fact barbers would show up late. Most of the barbers do cut well and I've always tipped them well. My schedule is very unpredictable so I to get the shop right when they open which clearly states 8am. I've waited in the parking lot till 830am-845am still the shop is closed. There are other customers who also wait in the parking lot. Why I continued to show up other than it being close to my home was there is one barber who is always professional and always on time. I needed a last minute haircut for my son(10 years old) so I stopped by Freedom Barbershop hoping my son can get a last minute haircut since WALK-IN are Welcomed. Upon arrival there was only one person waiting for a haircut. I was referred to Michael because he was next in line. As my son was approaching his chair I could hear Michael making comments under his breath, while looking at my son in a unwelcoming way. I asked for a Fohawk haircut and he immediately threw is barber cape on the chair and said he didn't know how do that kind of haircut. Stomped his way to the back of the room and said" someone take this kid because it's going to take me all day to cut his hair" said the "licensed barber". My question was why are you working at a barbershop if you can't cut a common requested haircut. I explained to the worker I did not appreciate his attitude and most defiantly his nonverbal communication. He did not say sorry or apologize for making my son feel uncomfortable. Instead it was his coworkers to the left and right of him that continued to apologize for Michael bad attitude and customer service. Thank god Barber Miguel was able to resolve the issue, horrible customer service. Miguel then volunteered to cut my sons hair himself. I have never received such horrible customer service, and will never return here with my son ever again. read more

I've been coming here now for several years and have previously posted a 5 star rating. Unfortunately, through the time, this barbershop has become very complacent with mediocrity. Here are my detailed notes: 1) Barber Skills: Above Average. You will see mostly a diverse skill sets of barbers from novice to experienced. All of them have been really good and give great haircuts. They continue to master their craft. 2) Atmosphere: Down to earth and pleasant. Everything you would expect from a barbershop. 3) Scheduling: Don't bother scheduling an "appointment." This is one of their biggest flaws. They don't honor appointments. From sitting and waiting myself, I've seen a lot of customers who set appointments having to wait just as long as a walk-in. Don't bother. Minus 1 star. 4) Wait-Time: You will be waiting an average 15-45mins. Mind you, this is average with most of my experiences hitting 30+ minutes. Of concern, they have recently not been honoring their hours of operation. I have arrived there 3 times now in the past month towards the end of their work hours and they have denied me. Once I arrived an hour before closing and they said they are no longer accepting customers. No apologies. Minus 1 star. Overall, this is a barbershop that has above average barbers with long wait times. As a result of their store wait times and the previous unsuccessful attempts to come here, I have taken my money elsewhere for good. If you want a good barber, this is the place....just be sure to have an hour or two available in your schedule... read more

We go to the Worldmark resort in Indio once a year so this is the second time I'm able to leave a review. This time, I was able to take my 11 year old so he could experience a barber shop as apposed to the cheap salons his mother takes him to. My kid is at the "daring" age. I dared him to get a sweet sweet mullet for the first day of school (he lives in Sacramento) and I sweetened the deal with 20 bucks. The shop was everything he expected. I can't tell you how many salons my husband has been to and how often he has been specific about what he wants and no one ever delivers. And he's not asking for anything complicated; very short on the back, slightly longer on the top (I can never remember the numbers), neatly trimmed around the ears, and a neat neck. No gel or other nonsense either. Just a simple hair cut! No matter the location or price level, it was guaranteed that he would come home unhappy and spend another half hour trying to fix it himself with me doing my best on the back of his head. But he finally found a place he can go to for his hair and come home happy. They certainly take their time but my husband actually doesn't mind so much it they get his hair right. And to be honest, I've never paid much attention to his hair till now. I never knew how much a good hair cut could compliment his good looks until someone finally got it right.
