My son was so hesitant about cutting his hair off since it's blonde & thick & shows every line. But after looking at the recommendation of a friend & looking on Yelp - we found Michael. Very timely. Nice barbers. Since i was just visiting, i was happy to find a place that did a decent haircut.

Best barbershop in the valley! Mike, Sway and crew with top quality work for a fair price

Absolutely terrible, I had a bad experience while I was here. My hair is so un-even on all sides, so disappointed. And my barber was burping non-stop in my ear while cutting my hair, it was disgusting. Don't recommend at all, don't step a foot in there. read more

I'm in town (La Quinta) from Seattle and I've had the same barber for well over a decade. I normally get weekly cuts but finding a trusted barber on holiday can be tough... I called in advance to schedule my appointment for the next day. I arrived about 30 minutes early for my cut...great waiting area and solid vibes. The shop is comfortable and the all the barbers are friendly. My fade/taper is solid...Ill be a repeat customer and I'd recommend Sways to anyone looking for a clean cut in the area. Super convenient, quality work, reasonably priced! Well done gentlemen. Keep up the good work! read more

Had to get my hair cut for work; great place, cool people, and exactly what I wanted.

Stacie never stops impressing me when it comes to a great cut. She treats people like family. The shop is clean, professional, family friendly and perfect. Modern and clean line decor. they don't push products even though they stock them for sale. A client is always welcome to ask price etc. Each station truly shows the barber's personality. Her chair is vintage and gorgeous. Prices in line with all other shops in the area. read more

We took my 4 year old here for his first professional cut today and Stacie was great with him. She kept him calm and was so patient when he started wiggling. The place was clean and gave off a great vibe. We will be coming back for sure! I'm still in awe of this tearless appointment. Such a relief for this mom! Thanks! read more

I've been coming to this place for quite sometime now, but Sway has always treated me the same every time since day 1 with respect love and friendship, it doesn't feel like I'm there to get a cut and leave it feels like I'm there to catch up and talk about things going on in life while I'm getting a haircut. The new place is very nice looking and well maintained. The haircut is always on point never lacks the magic Sway always uses to bless my head. Highly recommend Sway if you're a first time visitor, won't want to change or trust anyone else with your cuts. (See attached images) Even after a cut they always welcome me to stay and hang out a little if I'm not busy. Wonderful vibes and wonderful people above all wonderful work they do on hair. Got a great haircut from Yankee on Saturday 1st time going there and will for sure being going back.

A Real Barber shop. Everyone is friendly and it's got a very cool vibe. Locally owned not a franchise.

As a full-time traveler, I am constantly struggling to find a good barber shop and/or hair salon while on the road. Every time I need a haircut, I find myself in a new town. More often than not, I leave disappointed. Well, that's not the case when I visit the Coachella Valley. I came across Sway's Lounge on Yelp and they didn't disappoint. I showed Eddie a couple of pictures of how I would like my hair to look and he delivered. Best haircut I've had in the past couple of years. read more

I came here for a haircut because: 1. I needed it and 2. I was proposing to my girl later that night, so I was trying to have a fresh cut. I called to schedule the appointment and show up for my cut, all going smoothly. The place is pretty big and super chill, they had Eastbound & Down playing on the TV, so it was a nice vibe in there. I sat down for my cut and that's when the experience started to go downhill. The dude wasnt all that friendly, not a big deal, but he didn't seem interested in what I wanted as far as a haircut. I explain the cut I wanted and he worked on my hair for about 10-15 mins and then showed me the cut, I had to ask some minor adjustments, which he sort of did... The cut was $25 bucks, I gave him $40 and went on my way. When I got home and showered and look at myself, I see half of the hair on the top of my head is almost double the length on one side than it is on the other. I never write reviews on here, but getting busted haircuts is a crime against humanity...I'm sure this dude could've done a great job, I just caught him on a bad day. So be careful! read more

Hate to say it but this was hands down the worst haircut I've ever gotten...However, Sway wasn't the person who cut my hair, and in his defense I've heard nothing but good things about him. I walked in to check the place out and one of his barbers cut my hair and all I can say is that I literally left that barbershop and drove straight to my other barber to try and minimize the damage. Again, there were a few barbers there and I'm sure they are great, but my recommendation for a first timer would be to sit and watch each barber do a few cuts before you decide who to choose. read more

Hands down best barber experience I've ever had in my entire life... These guys are unbelievable, from the customer experience to the quality of hair cut. Legitimately mind-blown that they can make cutting hair such an incredible life experience. Thank you, Sway and Team! read more

This place is going to take off once people find out about it. It's the coachella valleys finest, and probably youngest barbers. Come through and check it out. Get a fresh fade at sways barber lounge. The staff makes you feel welcome. It's like going to the hommies garage to get a quick cut. Located in old town La Quinta. I recommend it. Also, they play FIFA 2016 on ps4. So it's entertaining at the same time. read more

I was visiting La Quinta from Los Angeles for a couple weeks and was desperately in need of a hair cut. I called and booked an appointment with Sway for later the same day and everything went perfectly. I've seen the same barber for years and was a bit nervous about trying someone new, but he does amazing work and was a super nice guy. I would definitely recommend him for anyone looking for a great cut in the La Quinta area. read more

First time at this shop I'm new to the area. Moving from San Diego and having the same barber for the past 8 years I was looking for a nice shop and ran across sways lounge. Very nice shop and super friendly. The tall gentleman in second chair cut my hair [ forgot his name I'm bad with names] did a great job showed him what I usually get and he delivered. I live in New Jersey and needed a barbershop for a haircut for my groomsmen and I before my wedding. I called and set up 3 appointments with these guys over the phone without ever having been there before. Some may say this was ballsy but based on their photos on Yelp I knew that I would not be disappointed. From start to finish I could not have been more satisfied with my experience at this shop. These guys are all super cool as well as REALLY good barbers. They had me looking SHARP on my wedding day. The atmosphere of the shop is really cool as well. Very mellow, and they definitely created a laid back spot to chill, shoot some pool or watch the game while waiting. If you're in the La Quinta area for any reason, whether it be a wedding or Coachella you should definitely go see these guys. Excellent customer service and damn good haircuts! read more

Sway’s Barber Lounge - The dogs are super friendly and a nice touch! - Barbers Near Me - La Quinta, California

Best-in-class barbershop. Sway's got to be in the top 3 of barbers in the valley, if not the absolute best. His skills and that of the other barbers at the shop are of the highest caliber (Stacy, Mike, etc). Good vibes all around. They are very welcoming and make you feel at home. It's like a big family. Add to that a giant flatscreen TV, pool table, and cute French bulldogs? What's not to like? read more

This is my place to go when I'm in the La Quinta area a couple of times a year. I have tough hair to cut and get it cut every 2-3 weeks, and Sway's has never let me down. All of them get down....come here if you're unsure where to go. Best barber shop in valley hands down.

I've waited to put a review on this shop because I wanted to see how things would go as a new customer after the 1st cut and I have to say my experience has been great. I was hesitant to leave my other barber, like any other person is, after 3 year with him. I decided to try out Sway's Lounge and I was pleasantly surprise. They mainly work by appointment only but he or his staff sometimes have cancelations that allow for walk in's. I get my cut done with Sway and every time I've made an appointment I know that time is reserved for me. I show up sometimes right on time and he's ready for me. Occasionally I've shown up a bit late but he has been able to accommodate me, in return when he is running behind I have no problem waiting. After walking into the shop i noticed the barber awards. After every cut, it is clear why those awards were given to Sway. His cuts are clean and I get complemented almost every time I get a fresh cut. I've seen the work of his other barbers and without a doubt won't hesitate to sit in the chair with them. The pool table, TV and Lounge area make it comfortable for me and when my lady has to wait for me while I cut my hair. Water or soda's are made available for sale which is a nice option. This is a cash only business but an ATM is available in the shop if you forget to bring cash. The other Barbers, Mike, Stacie and Eddie make for good conversations and a comfortable experience. Winston and Dyna will keep the kids entertained as well. I have found a new Barber and have no problem recommending anyone to this shop. A suggestion: Make an appointment in advance with any barber. You might get lucky and find one of them available for a walk in but to be on the safe side make an appointment. read more

Three strikes... You out!!!!! First Strike: I went here & after my taper / fade the guy is cleaning up my neck and says sorry that he "kinda" cut me, I'm like ugh ok, it seems like a small cut no biggie I still pay for the taper / fade. The cut stays bleeding for several hours well into the next day because it's on a beauty mark which is not good to cut open. Second Strike: a month or so goes by & I call to see if I can get in a taper, I'm told something came up and they need to close the shop early. No biggie. Third Strike: I wait till the next day to come in when I walk in they ask if I have an appointment, I say no I called ystrdy, they tell me to wait 45 mins... I wait for an hour & they tell me they forgot something & can I come back tomorrow after having me wait???!!!! Unprofessional kids! :/ Where's a zero when you need one. read more
