On their most recent visit, they were told--quite abruptly--that moving forward they would only be allowed to come in twice per piece, and that painting must be completed within six months of purchase. This was never a policy before, and the way it was communicated felt aggressive and unwelcoming. Disheartened by the interaction, they decided it would be their last time visiting Mimi's. To make matters worse, when they were called to say their pieces had finished firing, they were informed one of them had broken--without a hint of an apology. The only "resolution" offered was a gift card for the original value or nothing at all. When they went to pick up what was left of the piece, the owner was present and still didn't offer a single apology. This is not the kind of customer service or family-friendly environment we used to know and love. It's deeply disappointing to see such a treasured place become so unaccommodating and indifferent toward long-time customers. We will be taking our business--and our loyalty--to one of the many other paint-your-own studios in the area that still prioritize kindness, flexibility, and community. And when leaving a review on google to express these issues, it felt like we were responded to with a chatgpt answer, because it wasn't even being addressed to the correct person. For anyone considering this facility, please know that despite the name, it is a regular daycare disguised as a learning academy but in reality there is no learning going on just a regular unprofessional daycare The financial burden here is outrageous, especially given the poor quality of care. A recurring issue we faced was their illness policy and unfair billing. I would send my daughter to daycare on a Wednesday, she would catch something from another child, and by Thursday, they would call me to come pick her up because she was sick. She would then have to miss the following day. Despite not being allowed to leave my child there, they still charged me full price for her attendance. This happened on multiple occasions, to the point where I was paying for far more days than my daughter was actually able to attend. Even more concerning than the cost was the lack of supervision and safety. There was an incident where my child came home with claw marks all over her arms. When I brought this to the teacher's attention, nobody on staff was aware of her injuries, nor had anyone called to let us know something had happened. A week later, she came home with the exact same injuries to her arms. It wasn't until I made a major issue out of it that I was finally able to request to speak to the director, who promised an investigation. Having two separate instances where my child came home injured without a single phone call or incident report made is completely unacceptable. I was finally so fed up with the lack of communication, safety, and fairness that I unenrolled my kid. I would not recommend Vera Children's Academy to any parent looking for a safe and reliable environment for their child.

I can not say enough about his experience, attention to safety, professionalism and skill. He was their biggest cheerleader when they succeeded and their most patient motivator when they stumbled. I can not believe how hard he worked for the two hour lesson, never tiring and always giving constructive advice and encouraging tips. My daughter and her friend are both true surfers now!
