Really good burritos. I came here on a weekday afternoon to find there was only one poor guy working behind the counter. We had a massive order we were attempting to put in through the app which was not working for some reason. He did the best he could for us, but ultimately had to prioritize smaller orders over ours in order to not hold up the line. Ambiance is casual to-go vibes here, though we did decide to eat in. As someone who barely ever finishes their burrito I was happy to find they had a smaller burrito option (which I still didn't finish but came closer to doing so). The pork here is excellent, and I appreciated all the filling options. Overall, not bad, but they definitely need more than one poor guy behind the counter. read more

Steak burrito was good, but lacked quantity of meat. Service was fast. Restaurant was clean. I might go back, but there are other places that give more protein. I did like that they had a low carb tortilla option. read more

The food is always good everytime I go. Never had any issues. Love their chips and queso. Employees are always great! One thing I remember about going to Freebirds when I was younger was seeing different little things made out of the foil from the burrito. So Freebirds is always a go for me over chipotle! read more

Chipotle DOOP in all seriousness, there is a Chipotle just half a mile away. I get the whole Hotelling Model of Spatial Location from a business perspective, but Chipotle tastes significantly better to me. My biggest gripe was the rice at Freebirds. Perhaps it was just the batch on the particular day I went, but the cilantro lime rice was very mushy and over cooked. I'm not sure if Freebirds also uses basmati rice, but the grains were significantly shorter. The rice ruined everything for me. The vegetables were also mushy and over cooked. The corn salsa didn't have much flavor, which I was disappointed as I'm a big fan of Chipotle's corn salsa (seriously, I could bathe myself in that stuff.)Given that this place is new, perhaps with more experience, they will get more consistent with how the food is cooked. Customer service was pretty good - the people behind the counter were very kind and attentive. This place is more spacious than the Chipotle down the street, and the interior is newer and cleaner. They do have some more options (I.e more tortilla and sauce variety) compared to its competitors. read more

Excited to have this new location in Murphy, TX! Normally I don't try out new places within the first few days of opening but I'm so glad I did. I was greeted by multiple employees saying hi welcome to Freebirds then they asked me what I wanted for my order. I chose to get the bowl with chicken but they also let me sample the beef. Pretty solid spot for a burrito bowl! Came during a rainy lunch Tuesday. We had a Bogo for a steak burrito/bowl. Had a nice burrito bowl with everything on it, chips and salsa.l and the Moonshine Arnold Palmer. Everything was pretty good. I did bite into one chip that was straight up salt. You get way more product for pretty mu h the same price at Chipotle. And charving $2.00 to add queso sauce is ridiculous. The ranch steak was wonderful if yall sold that seperately I would buy it to add to other items I cook or to my Chipotle bowl. There doesn"t seem to be a big difference between you and Chipotle and I definayely get more fore my money at Chipotle. I was so excited to get yall open in our area but underwhelmed after visiting. The rice and the corn salsa is also Way better at Chipotle. I added photos from my second trip to show that in the small (freebird size) bowl, they just barely fill it to the lowest line inside the bowl. You get 2 tiny scoops of each ingredient ordered and I do mean Small. If you ask for extra rice they tell you a upsize charge to their Monster size will be charged. Dear Lord rice is basicly a free ingredient to the restraunt but they want to charge more for 1 extra scoop. The food here is good. The staff are super welcoming, and the environment is casual. I usually get their bowls. My go to sauce is the Habanero, it's the BOMB. You can also ask for the sauce on the side!!! The meats are quite flavorful. Yes. Chipotle gives you a bigger bang for your buck. The portion sizes at Freebirds are lacking at times and I did felt ripped off once, but hopefully they can improve on that. Freebirds is pricier than Chipotle but that's a cooperate thing. If you want to complain about the prices, message cooperate because franchise businesses aren't in charge of the pricing that they're required to put. If anything, Chipotle is across the street. I like Chipotle and Freebirds but if I had to pick base on taste, Freebirds takes the win! They do have different textures from each other and I'm fine with either. Just know that Freebirds rice and veggies are on the softer side than Chipotle. Again, I really hope Freebirds work on their portions better bc that's all they're missing. read more

My son and me went for our first visit at this newer location. It was at a peek time so the line was long but moved pretty decent. The guy making the food was helpful because my youngest son wanted a burrito and he suggested the half bird, which is one scoop of any of the chosen ingredients. This was a good choice because the meat and his extras were perfect for his appetite. My son thought it was "bussin". Lol! My bowl was the build your own. I added lime juice and garlic seasoning along with all my other toppings and everything was so good. Our meals filled us up. They have two different types of chicken, fajita chicken and seasoned chicken. We both chose the seasoned chicken and it was so tender and juicy, not fatty at all. I also tried the queso blanco, creamy jalapeño and the salsa verde. Chips with that queso is good, the salsa verde was too mild and too runny for my liking but that creamy jalapeño is spicy and I liked it. I like the addition of the hand washing/sanitation area. I did think it was a little too close by the utensils so it gave more of a crowded vibe and the thought of water splattering/dripping nearby. I was charged accidentally for steak vs. the chicken but to comp me, I was given a free chips and queso card for the next visit:). We've already been back with the rest of the family and they liked what they had as well. Keep in mind if you are taking your kids on Sunday for the free kids meal, the quesadilla seems to be more for 6 & under. My 11 & 13 year old had to get another one in a bigger size because it's small and didn't fill them up, even with eating chips and queso. read more

If you're ordering from the app, forget about it! They're constantly late, then rush to get your order ready. Expect to get a free drink while you wait for 15 minutes for them to make your food. Ridiculous! And don't forget to cash in your 401K, this place is way overpriced! Our food was also cold. Went here this evening to use a free burrito voucher, and the staff were all SO sweet and kind! It was poor planning on my part to go during peak dinner times so it was kinda packed but the staff were handling it really well! The only thing I didn't like about my visit were my fellow customers lol, as with other build your own meal bar type restaurants, some customers just don't know what personal space is AT ALL. Ordered the Super Monster Burrito with chicken, but the huge burrito came with mainly rice and beans and the cilantro rice was tough like they scraped the last rice at bottom of the rice cooker. I had shared the other half and that person said the same thing, but included his taste like slime fish water and that made him feel the food was gross. My car smelled like stale fish in the car and I didn't know why, but now I know where that fish smell came from after picking up our order. Won't be going here anymore. read more

I got a bowl of Spanish rice, black bean, and pork. It was not seasoned and had no taste. I ordered on the website. The notification of completion was very confusing. I waited for almost 25 minutes. Then I went in and my order had been waiting on me. My order was not worth $11. read more

First, the employees were great. Very helpful in helping me since I was lost as it was my first visit to a Freebirds in like 20 years. Unfortunately, I can't say the same about the food. I wouldn't say it was bad, but I wouldn't say it was good either. Every single item (chicken, rice, veggies, etc) are equal or better at Chipolte which is just a block away. Let's take the veggies as an example. The peppers and onions are firm with a little crunch to them at Chipolte. At Firebirds, they were soft, soggy and only tasted like onion. I can make similar comments at virtually everything else on both of the entrees we got. I won't be going back since there are at least 4 other Mexican places within a half mile of there that I think are better. read more
