When I arrived for my appointment, I found the salon permanently closed and the door locked. After some digging, I saw a Facebook post stating the business had closed, but relying solely on a Facebook post is not sufficient when the booking system is still active and sending confirmation texts. As an out-of-town client, there was no way for me to know my appointment was no longer valid. No call, no text, no cancellation notice. This was not a casual appointment -- it was for a wedding -- and the lack of communication forced me to scramble at the last minute. If a business is closing, booked clients should be proactively notified and all booking systems disabled. This situation could have been avoided with basic communication. Thankfully, I was able to find another salon last minute -- Primp and Blow Chandler -- who completely saved the day. Five stars to them for stepping in on short notice and doing an amazing job.

When I arrived, the small space, with three chairs, were jammed packed. There was a woman sitting on the bench the entire time, a bench that could fit two people, but sat right in the middle. This person turned out to not even be a client but a friend. Like a roadie for a hairdresser? Kinda wacky given the lack of space, IMO. Meanwhile, clients had to sit in the hallway and the lobby while bleach and color sat on their heads. I too spent some time in the lobby. The place was REALLY busy, which could explain why there was hair all over the place. I hesitated to put my bag down because it was just kinda hairy everywhere and my bag picks up hair like a Roomba. I did find a spot but had to bring it with as I moved around so it didn't really matter that I had found it. The service was rushed but I don't mind moving around creation if it'll save me a hour or two in the chair. Most of the work was done by an awesome new assistant in the beginning. Jessica was very much involved though throughout the process. When Jessica brought me to the bowl to rinse, she sounded excited that the color looked better than when I walked in. And yes, it is better, but the root lines are still super visible given the really sharp starting point of the previously bleached strands. I paid her and tipped her but I'm slightly underwhelmed now that I'm in natural light. (The lighting in there is wayyyyyyyyyy different I think.) Unfortunately, I fly out of here tomorrow and won't have time to give her the opportunity to make it better for me. Then again, it isn't awful just kinda meh right now for a $70 (w/$10 Yelp coupon) treatment. I showed exactly what I wanted simple face framing and long layers but my hair was cut so unevenly that the layers didn't blend at all. There were random short pieces, completely different lengths, and the back was uneven and had no shape. It genuinely looked like a 5 year old had cut my hair, not a certified professional. Almost everyone who has seen my hair since has asked me the same thing: how could this possibly happen at a professional salon? Yes, I received a full refund, and I appreciate that. But I then had to go somewhere else to try to fix the damage. The second stylist had to take off even more hair, so I lost both the length AND the density of my hair just to make it look somewhat normal again. And even now, there is only so much that can be fixed. I have to wait for it to grow out. What frustrated me even more was how the situation was handled afterward. I asked the manager for their number because I genuinely wanted someone to explain to me HOW this happened. She never responded. I got my money back, but I felt absolutely no real empathy or understanding of what I was dealing with just scripted comments like I would be sad like you too and "Everybody loves this hairstylist. That completely misses the point. This is MY hair. I can't undo what was done. Giving me my money back doesn't give me back the length and density I lost or change how awful I feel every time I look at my hair. I wasn't looking for drama or anything extra from them.
