You will not be taken out of room for any activities. You will get pt for an hour or less per day. You will wait up to an hour if you hit nurse button. You may not be given pillows or blankets. Thus happened 3 x, was told no lines available. Some nights yoy will have plastic pillow with no pillowcase. You may walk in and see loved one with tray across room meaning no access to water. You may see nurse call button on floor on a cord across room they can't reach. You will need to get them water and ice because pitcher will be empty. If you ask nurses any questions they will yell at you and I mean arms in the air yelling. If you get discharge papers read them, they will include signing that you will change your address, you will pay 214 a day for day 21-100. Ins stops payment on day 20! When discharged they will keep any narcotics you were prescribed but give you the rest of your meds. You will see at least 5 aides standing at nurses station pretty much all the time. You will find loved one on dirty sheets. Garbage can full. If you bring clothes upon check in they send to laundry and you may not see them again for 48 hrs. They ate short staffed and admit that so some days pt is 20 minutes and no pt on weekend, loved one will lay in bed all weekend getting weak, nurses nor aides will walk them to build strength. Don't worry about a shower because for 19 days you won't get one. Do read those discharge papers because they also ask to sign you ss check over to them. None of these papers were signed so lived one was discharged. If they were signed I believe they would not of discharged and collected 214 per day till 100 days? It's all about keeping the beds filled here and many elderly are there suffering like the one man who yelled for an hour because he had fallen. One breakfast I saw was a small sausage patty and one piece of bread that looked like toast but waa called French toast. Hard meat elderly cook never chew. Egg salad sandwich which was mostly 2 pieces of wheat bread. No boost or ensure just tiny cartons of some inedible strawberry protein drink. Be prepared to bring loved one food every day. Employees there say they won't even eat it!!! I have pictures I won't post here, I'll save that for when I contact every agency I can in addition to the 2 owners of this facility whom should both be fed this crap daily. I will say pt employees and business office all nice people. Head nurse first floor, reception 1st floor and whom ever answers phone there all need to be fired. I won't post names here. I'll save that too. Go anywhere but this place, it was beyond horrifically awful and they don't care about the elderly or upsetting them. If the aide who got rough with my mother is reading this. I'm coming after your job!!! When my mother asked..why are you being so hateful her reply was because I can be if I want, this after flipping her harshly in her bed with a broken tail bone. My mother was scared if this aide was working. You all pushed me to a point of anger that will now not stop me from putting this information everywhere it needs to go. My heart breaks for those that are still there!

There is a bigger one too. They go down to studios. Meals are at pre-set times and I gather the food is pretty good. But I didn't have any on any of my three visits. There is plenty of parking for both residents, although most don't have a car, and guests. There is an easy area in the front to pick up and drop off guests. There are common rooms where residents play cards, do puzzles, watch to etc. there is an exercise room with a trained person giving lessons daily. There is an outside courtyard area. Residents can have guests in for meals and there is the ability and space to host a small gathering too. All in all, I was impressed. This is a nice place for people who don't need skilled nursing, but would benefit from some additional help and meal prep. Ten apartments do have a small fridge and limited cooking ability. But the idea is you get your meals downstairs in the communal dining room.

Brompton Heights, in my opinion, is one of the best I have ever walked into. After 40 years as a professional in the medical field, I have seen many many things, both good and bad. I am especially keen to keep an eye out for things that aren't so good in the nursing home industry. My loved one's assisted living journey began at another local facility. Because of the less than good care that was received he moved to Brompton Heights. This is a decision our family will never regret. There was also never a day or even a moment when he or his family was not treated with respect and dignity. He was without a doubt, a member of the Brompton community. He sadly left us on 12/31/24 because of recurrent cancer while under Hospice care. My biggest concern and fear upon learning his cancer had returned was how his pain would be managed. I was truly scared of this unknown. I can now honestly say that there was never a time where his physical or emotional needs were not met within a short period of time I can only speak to the tremendous staff on the North unit but I have no doubt that the South unit demonstrates the same incredible quality of care. Every single person in every single department that met him treated him as he deserved to be treated, as someone who mattered. Almost every single time I walked into the facility I would see a staff member or two, or three gathered with a resident offering comfort and sharing a story or telling jokes I am grateful for the care that my loved one ( and my family members ) received during the time at Brompton. There is even a bird cage in the lobby with a dozen little exotic birdies flying about. The number of extra activities is off the charts. Singing, bingo, music, movies, ice cream socials, etc. Tennyson, does everything it can to make your aging loved one apart of the human race. Of course it is up to your loved one whether they engage but the staff does everything it can to remove the environmental obstructions.

We had to place our mother at Beechwood Continuing Care 12/2019 and 3 months later the nation faced…read morethe unthinkable... The Covid-19 Pandemic. I will never forget the night on March 19, 2020. I had to say goodbye to my mother, who we saw & cared for Everyday. This was the Beginning of the End. Throughout the pandemic we FaceTimed. Then there were scheduled 1/2hr door visits. I wondered why the staff was bringing my mother to the door visit by wheelchair. My mother walked with her walker, she even got into my 3 row SUV. I insisted on seeing if my mother could walk, sadly she could not. Door visits and FaceTime calls were getting more difficult. I began to see the fast decline. My mother was constantly confined & isolated in her room (bc of positive Covid cases) with no stimulation or socialization. She never got Covid. By the time I finally got inside for an indoor visit she didn't know me. She knew we were her daughters because we had to tell her, but she didn't know our names. Then we were allowed 2 designated caregivers. By then, my mother barley opened her eyes. We took her on an out pass (which was difficult because she's now confined to a wheelchair) for a makeover. I took over doing all of her laundry again. Cleaned her room (it was awful), bought new bedding and tried to get things back to "our way". Eventually we had to start feeding her homemade meals that we brought each day. Then we began to purée her food because I noticed she was pocketing her food and struggled to swallow. Then I began to notice she couldn't drink out of a cup or through a straw. Beside myself, after a long weekend at Beechwood I made a call Monday morning reaching out for help to teach me ways to get my mother to drink. DID I MENTION THAT EVERY-TIME THERE WAS AN ISSUE IT TOOK US DAUGHTERS TO NOTICE, TO REPORT IT TO THE SOCIAL WORKER OR VISITING NURSE. So now I finally get a call after reaching out for help that my mother has aspirating pneumonia and a nodule on her lung (they scrambled and ran tests the day after I made the call). So now they finally tell me about "thickened liquids" which I never knew of. My mother should've been on the thickened liquids the day she went on puréed food. BEECHWOOD HAD DROPPED THE BALL SO MANY TIMES, ITS DISGUSTING! Now at least 31/2weeks go by and I hear from No One. I wanted to have my mother evaluated by hospice but was convinced by Rose the social worker that if I did that I would lose the visiting nurse from IH and that keeping her would be better at this point. So I listened. I filled in for my sister on Friday 4/30 (we went every night) because they have a "fill in" LPN from different floors because the full time day LPN and night LPN need time off so it was important to be at Beechwood especially those nights. My mother ate the puréed meal I prepared but I couldn't get her to drink my thickened liquids. I got her washed up and settled in. I expressed my concerns to the LPN on duty, my mothers breathing was like a loud rattle (I took a video and showed the LPN). I even asked to stay. She said "I got you, I'll look in on her" and then told me she got her to drink a bottle of water and glass of milk that day. I said no, no.... Thickened Liquids Only. The LPN indicated that it didn't say that on her care sheet, she even showed me, then she made notes. I left feeling uneasy. I called around 10:15 to check on my mother which I never had to do. The LPN said there are NO CONCERNS FOR BETTY, I gave her a glass of puréed OJ and put her to bed at 9:30 so there are NO CONCERNS. I received a phone call at 7:15AM telling me my mother passed away. The phone call that I made Friday night could've been handled so differently. All the LPN had to do was put me on hold to check in on my mom. They claim she died peacefully in her sleep. My struggled with her breathing, she was filled with fluid and she was all alone. I'm heartbroken DO NOT PUT YOUR LOVED ONE IN THIS FACILITY. All you get is lip service from everyone. The staff are lazy & incompetent. Okay
